What a thrill to meet so many of my list family this weekend! It was like a really big family reunion! Ha! Ha! This Convention really started for me on Thursday when I picked up Beverly (Piglet) from the airport! Yep! Got to finally meet that girl that swears she is 19 and says she is my Granddaughter! Ha! Ha! She really is a sweetie! Then June arrived in Cincinnati so on Thursday night we all had dinner together. On Friday we headed for the convention center since I had a car full of Rubber that belonged to Stamp Camp and Auntie Amy that I had drove up from Pigeon Forge. While Piglet and I were there, we ran into SammiLynn setting up the VLVS booth. We agreed to meet her early the next morning and work the morning with her. I got to meet Julie (Midnight Stamper's) daughter whom I absolutely loved! Dawn is such a sweetie! Then Julie, June, Piglet, SammiLynn and I all went to dinner. We then hit the Dollar store! (Saving those big bucks for the convention...tee hee!) The morning of the convention was sooooo exciting. When they opened the doors it was like hoards of people running through the place to get to the Wish Tree booth! The VLVS booth had list stamper galore working it as SammiLynn, Vicki, Piglet, June and I were all there. This sounds like one of those strange jokes....how many list stampers fit in a booth? Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! I met Ruthann ....my birthday twin! I was so excited to meet Coastie Wife and see for myself that she is doing fine, her mom Flo, Pam (and her mom) who needs to unlurk and join in the fun, Cathy (Stampin At Midnight), Rosemarie Goetz, Cheshire Cat (who happens to live close to me but this was the first time we had met!), Melinda Carmain who is so special to me and who was the stamper who got the Stamper A Day Sweatshirt Project pulled together so beautifully, Belinda Rubber Chickie....she is just a hoot! I met the author of stamping on water and the "famous tampon stamper!" Cheryl, Nancy Curry and Charla ... these two wonderful ladies felt like sitting down and talking to two sisters that I have known all my life. Linda V....what a great sense of humor and had her husband trained great to collect those packages! Ha! Ha! I know I'm forgetting people and I made myself a promise I wouldn't do that but I'm doing it anyway! Guess I'll have to start taking notes like Ant Judy! Tee Hee! I also met Jim Stephens and told him he needs to make his sayings BIGGER! Ha! You been nagged now Jim! I met Kevin from Stampscapes....unbelievable work! I got to say hi to Debby and Steve from Pressing Images and for the third Convention in a row I got to play with Stamp Camp and Auntie Amy Stamps! This is getting to be too much fun! Ha! Ha! I did find a new company that I have fallen in love with. They unfortunately were out of catalogs. It is Northwoods. They have some of the most awesome scenery stamps! Any of our Vendors carry this company???? This convention was so much fun and I'm so happy to have met so many of you! I'm not sure what happened to the list members that write they didn't meet anyone because the list was full of instructions all week long. I was lucky enough to not only meet lots of members but I got to have dinner with them and welcome them into my home! giggles to you always! I hoard miracle tape, cuz it's heat resistant and I figure I'll want it for that! so.. for sticking envys or collage or just putting together a card, I use my roll of carpet tape (or dryline, sometimes). but.. it uses the same way. nother thing I do with it sometimes is punch a hole in the front of a card with a craft punch or corner punch, then punch the same thing out of the tape (save some backing, so you can stick it to the other side so's you can punch it) then stick that/those on the inside of the card, under the holes? and then sprinkle on the judikins microbeads, to show through? or glitter, or EP even. nother thing you can do is make way cool grass, this works great with the carpet tape because it's so much wider.. cut a strip and lay it on your card, then layer on your other pieces of your card, then sprinkle on judikins speckles? and you've got way cool grass. anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. What company makes the sun stamp? The card and pin are so elegant and are both beautiful! For everyone else: You would be so jealous if you saw this card and would wish you were born in January also! The card from Janet arrived in a see through box. It has a sun with face stamped and embossed in yellow ink on purple card stock, layered over corrugated paper and a beautiful piece of gold sticking out behind the sun. Along the bottom of the card are more sun stamps on red corrugated paper. She did a pin using the same stamp on shrink plastic. The sun is stamped and looks like it is a silver iridescent ink. The pin is layered with corrugated paper and the same gold sticking out behind the sun. It is very nice and I know I can't describe it properly. Thanks Janet! So glad you are a birthday Sib!!! I finally figured out how to make these and am just getting ready to stamp them. One idea I had was to mark each square I have to stamp in and then take apart one of the cards. With it open, it acts as a template and I can see where I need to stamp and then stamp on it before I assemble it. I haven't actually tried this but its just a thought. Maybe you could also try to put matboard or something else sturdy under the edge of the card square you are stamping. I can't wait to get a card stamped. now that I have it working its the neatest thing out. This is my first trick card and I'm having a blastw ith it. My DH is really impressed with it too! Hi everyone My fabulous parcel arrived on Saturday, I'd been warned to look out for it by Karen Barnes, so I was ready and waiting when the postman rounded the corner of the road!!!! He must have known it was for me as he handed it over without a struggle, (which is just as well as he must be near retirement age). My daughter and I them open it together, she loves these when they arrive. It contained the following wonderful things: Somerset Studio magazine - first one I've seen set of FCS brush markers in colours that I had used up - greatly needed. set of Artline blur-proof pens for things like colouring in sunglasses! great as I was going to buy these. fan shaped stickers - beautiful black raised dye ink pad which doesn't smudge, wonderful box of cards with teddies, kittens and bunnies on them, we loved these sheet on DJINKERS teddies sheet of lilac coloured handmade paper, I should really try this, it looks just lovely. packet of autumn coloured buttons and charms, never had these before. small cutting mat about card size, this has been used already, great size as you can put it in between your cards. Jumbo antique scissors, i've wnated these for ages and ages. stamp-a-month newsletter with a beautiful penny black moon and stars stamp, it comes with two cards, metallic coloured paper and moon and sun charms. I just love this stamp. last but not least two lovely made cards, one with dolphins and sea spray, it is a really unusual effect is it air-bushing? the second card is increadible, I think is a box frame with the following in it, five windows containing, hearts, flowers, seeds, glitter and stamp cut outs, It really is a fabulous card, how did you do it????? Thank you so much for another wonderful parcel, you are a truly wonderful person and so very kind. I'll speak to you soon. There was a set of identical triplets (girls) who insisted on sharing one small cot at nap time. They would not go to sleep if we had them on their own cot BUT as soon as they shared a cot they settled in and were asleep with 5 minutes. The girls were so adorable. Each had their own personality but when it came time for sleeping they shared a cot. I asked their Mama about the sleeping arrangements at home and I think she told that they all slept in a double bed. They were 2-1/2 years old at the time. I caught up to them about 18 months later when they enrolled in the pre-school where I was teaching. They have to be about 16 years old by now. I wonder what they're doing and where they are. I also wonder if they're still sleeping in the same bed or in the same room.
