Always love to see Baggie's name and address as the return and this time was even better 'cause it was from my SS!! I opened the Priority box and inside there was a floral paper bag (like many I get at quilt shops and use for envelopes). Baggie put everything inside, punched holes in the top and tied it with coordinating curly ribbon. It looked so pretty and of course my cat had to come over and check that out! Inside was a really neat card from my SS. Is the glitter from AIG? I have become addicted to that! To show what a dunce I am, I tried pulling both sides of the string at once. DUH! I did figure it out and have been having a great time playing with this otter. PLEASE tell me how to make this as I don't want to tear this card apart. :) Next I pulled out a stack of peach colored cardstock which is a color that I *always* run out of. Isn't Baggie perfect? Then a Lil' Bits O' Inspiration from Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers. I've seen these in the catalog and always wondered about them. Wonder no more, this looks like fun! Antique labels, old postage stamps, a Fanta orange soda cap, etc. Too cool! THEN.......lots of stamps from RBBB!!!!!! Oh thank you, thank you, thank you! There's a total of 8 stamps and they are all perfect. Baggie used a swimming theme, so I'm ready to stamp many things by combining the stamps in different ways. My favorite is the lady laying on the air raft in the water. I differ from some that have been posting about the stereotype stamps. I'm a large woman and I definitely see the humor in these stamps! They crack me up! I also have the lady from the waist up with her arms in the air and her bathing cap on. Can't wait to start stamping! There's a swimming pool, hot tub, 'legs' sticking out of the water, the small man and woman busts with snorkels on and the little bitty many jumping in doing a cannon-ball!!! These are such fun and I thank you for thinking of this idea and Baggie for fulfilling it. Why KazWaz responded to this particular "joke" I don't know, but in truth, I don't recall his/her post to be particularly "aggressive." I already deleted it, so I can't take another look at it, but as I recall, it was just his/her opinion on the joke. I don't think it was a flame in any sense of the word. With the number of the people on this list, it stands to reason that there will be those who agree with you and those who don't. Just because someone hasn't posted before, doesn't mean they don't have the right to post an opinion that goes against what most others will think. If this were a moderated list, that would be one thing, but the unmoderated nature of the list allows this. Many of you seem to think it would be a good idea and are thinking of getting several (and for SSS gifts too - you could stamp them and make them very personal or send them blank for your SSS to stamp her own), and so I think I will go ahead and offer these calendars for sale. Those who would perhaps like to get a head start on their Christmas stamping take notice! Meanwhile, I have looked into having the calendars prepunched and comb bound (the combs could be removed for stamping and then put back on afterwards). I don't have the equipment needed to do this myself and would have to job it out and add my actual costs. Prepunching for comb binding (without combs) would cost an additional 50 cents. The binding would add an additional $1.00 to the cost of the blank calendars, but I would be willing to offer a discount to anyone who would want to order more than 10, either bound or unbound. I believe I will offer them either way, purhaser's choice. However, I have also discovered that I made an error in calculations and that I can actually offer the blank, unbound calendars for $2.50 instead of $3.50, prepunched, but not bound, $3.00 and comb-bound for $3.50. So with all that in mindd, here's the price list: Plain blank calendars as described below (includes blank covers with 1998 on front cover): not punched, not bound $2.50 each punched for comb, not bound $3.00 each punched and comb bound $3.50 each Shipping (actual): 1 calendar (weight appx. 3 oz) $ .78 2 1.15 3 1.38 4 2.07 5 2.76 else - priority mail (up to 2lbs) $3.00 or depending on weight I should make note here, that while my original calendar which is described below, was created on King James Silhouette Cast Coat glossy cardstock, I can make it available on smooth Wausau vellum bristol white matte cardstock instead at the same price. If you prefer matte, please specify when you order. So if you want some, why not get your order to me right away so I can get started on these. I could probably get these ready to start shipping early next week. Of course, as you must know, I can't take credit cards and would need to have a check in advance. ^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^ (the following was posted to the RS list on Tue, 26 Aug 1997 23:09:31 - -0400) ^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^ I just spent several hours computer-designing and creating a really nice 1998 stamping calendar to stamp on as Christmas gifts for friends and family. It contains 12 pages - 1 for each month - each is 5.5" x 8.5" (portrait orientation) and a blank cover (front and back) page containing only the year (1998) on the front. The calendar blocks cover only the bottom half of the pages, leaving the top blank for stamping and binding. You can make some pretty nifty stamping creations on that part (14 pages for stamping- not counting the backs of the pages). I've typeset all dates and added all the holidays (some quite remote) that I could find. My calendar is 8 pt. glossy cardstock. It came out really nice, and I thought perhaps some of you might be interested in having one or a few to stamp up for gifts. If there is enough (or even any) interest, I will be glad to have copies made for you. I have figured out that I could make these available to you for $3.50 each, plus postage. I haven't checked this out, of course (since I only got this idea after I saw how nice they look), but I could probably have them punched and combed if you wanted. But I know this would add to the cost. So if anyone is interested in having one or more 1998 stamping calendars, please let me know. I'll keep track and if enough people want them, I'll work out a program. You'd want to have these pretty soon so you can start work on them in plenty of time for the new year. This is basically what it looks like. ________________________ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | MONTH NAME | <== month printed |________________________| |___|___|___|___|___|___|___| <== days of week printed | | | | | | | | <== calendar dates printed |___|___|___|___|___|___|___| <== holidays printed | | | | | | | | |___|___|___|___|___|___|___| | | | | | | | | |___|___|___|___|___|___|___| | | | | | | | | |___|___|___|___|___|___|___| | | | | | | | | |___|___|___|___|___|___|___| --`--,--{@ Patti in Fort Myers, FL @}--`--,-- ~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~ Computers are life. Okay, SSS now you got me going! I heard your voice and now I'm trying to figure out if you are Baggie, Giggles, or Mona Everett, who called me last week to ask about the Teeny Tiny Book Swap! Hearing your voice was awsome! I need to try it! The cyber greeting has a little girl portrait, one of those Vicorain looking ones, which I adore. It says "enjoy your day" Then with maybe an East coast accent, SSS spoke to me "Hi, just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you." She sounds kind of young, but that could fool me, you know! SSS, you'r too much! Thanks for the lift, today!
