I have been meaning to post this to the list for a couple of weeks now. I had the pleasure and priviledge of meeting Debbie Littlejohn, aka The Pampered Stamper while she was on her way to Florida. We had dinner together and had a marvelous time. Debbie is so much fun - personable and a wonderful person - our time together was toooo short. But, I am glad that we were able to meet "in person" after knowing her for a year now on line. If any of you get the opportunity to meet Debbie in person, you'll be so glad you did. What do you do? >> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>O<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< You trim just as closely as you like, BUT you make double sure that you slant your cut away from the image (imagine the image part of the rubber as sitting on a short hill - the bottom slopes OUT). Doing it the other way is known as undercutting and leaves little foundation for the image to back up to when impressing your stamp. This can give you very uneven stamped images and sometimes even blurred outlines. Not a good thing. I trim mine very close to the image edge and slope out of course, just because I like it, and I like the more precise outline for image placement when I tacky mount it on my acrylic blocks. Just be sure you don't cut into the image outline itself and you'll be fine. I just got done making 60 valentine's day cards for my kids. My son's -- I had a wavy heart template and sponged a red heart on white cardstock. I had an animation font that had a karate mouse and my son loves karate. I copied then in the computer into a graphics program and enlarged it. Colored it in and cut around it and put it in the middle of the heart. I had typed the words "Hiya!" "Would ya" and put that on the outside. Then I put some foil hearts on the outside. On the inside and I had the "Be My Valentine" with some more stickers and then I had a stamp done with my son's name. My daughter's -- I had walpaper that had little tiny hearts. I used the regular heart template and cut out the biggest size heart and placed in the middle of the card. Then I had stamped with a white embossing pad onto red card stock and embossed with white powder the little bear angel from Alias Smith and Ross. I cut around close to the edge and taped in the middle of the big heart. On the inside I stamped "A heart for thee...to remember me" from Annette Allen Watkins with my daughter's name stamp. The kids were happy and I'm tired from being up until 12:30 a.m. last night to finish. StampinSis On Thu, 13 Feb 1997 07:42:08 GMT Mike & Melinda Carmain writes: >Hi everyone! (longish) Thank You so much!!!! When I arrived home this afternoon I found a box waiting for me by my front door. The box was stamped with really neat images.. I picked it up and noticed that the return addressee was me, I just new it had to be from my SS. I ran in the house, dropped my purse on the table, rushed into the living room and tore (carefully) into the box... could you tell I was excited!!!.... Ooohhh.. The neat suprises inside!!!! First the card announcing this was from my SS.. I love it... a drive in theater complete with little cars and a 3-D billboard!! The sponged background looks fabulous... when ever I try this technique it never seems to work right... I guess I need a little more practice. And the mosqitoes of the perfect finishing touch... just like a real drive in in the summer . I see you had to have both of them, too!! I know when I saw them they were a must have!! They where far too cute to pass up. Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! The card is just great! Digging into the box I found, a jar of Confetti wrapped in tissue with stars and dots and "stripes" and... too cool!! And some tissue wrapped sponges (how did you know I needed some of these) and there's a bag of feathers and a spool of ribbon too!!! Digging even deeper in to the box I discovered a template for making envelopes (I love templates and this is one I didn't have untill now) and a tissue wrapped package of wallpaper envys.... so many of them all different in two sizes. I really like them too!! There was also a packet of paper in many colors and weights and a packet of Stampin' Sampler paper... I can't wait to start playing with all the different papers!!!! There were three sheets of return addy lables with the cutest little rubberstamp picture. I'm going to have to order some new rubberstamp stuff just so I can use them. They are way too cute to use for bills!!!! And there was a Glossy paper box collection just begging to be stamped on and embelished... I just love these boxes!! And a Rubberneckers catalog too!!!!! They have great images.. I think I NEED to place an order with them and I can use my new addy lables and one of my wallpaper envys... What fun!! And to top every thing else off there is this really neat "Bird Cage Pull Out" Stamp and a sample made with it.. I can't wait to try this out... I've never seen this kind of stamp anywhere!!!! It's wonderful!!! Thank you... Thank you... Thank you... Thank you... Thank you... What a great day!!! What a great SS!!! I love everything, I just don't know what to play with first...
