Instead , you ought to say, " If it is the Lord's will , we will live and do this and that." A good lesson, for sure. Ironic that the topic for Aug 30 in _Simple Abundance_ was "If not now, then when?". The tragic end of Princess Diana's life certainly brings this home to me. She was someone I *deeply* admired; I think I am still in shock. The entire world has lost a most caring and compassionate soul; a truly good and kind person. Whenever they put her picture on the tv screen with the caption "1961-1997", I start to cry. Just a gentle reminder to all: Every time a tabloid is purchased, it encourages that much more the kind of behavior the photographers displayed in Paris. I realize that the chances are nil that the tabloids will ever be without interested readers, but we all have a choice about whether or not *we* want to feed this horrible monster. I personally would LOVE to see it starve. She can't understand why I won't read them - I have tried time and time again to explain to her that it's all just a bunch of garbage - she says 'well, they wouldn't print it if it wasn't true' - (sigh) - this is exactly the kind of thing that makes me mad! I am horrified by the Media and the Press. We all know now that Di is dead and that the press was involved in her death, but now is the time that should be for her family and loved ones, not for cameras and reporters at every corner or doorstep and on every channel around the world. Her sons had enough against them from day one, now they have even more to deal with, they never would grow up like most children do, but now the chance to even attempt to grow up like most is gone. They will now not only go threw life as the children of a prince and princess but of a dead princess. Perhaps the press should take a good long look at what they have "created" and think just for a second it could be them, hell I never thought for a second that it could be my family and I, but it happens. Now her family, her sons need peace, they need to grieve and they need to do this out of the spotlight. I guess that as public figure, the spotlight is part of the job, but Di gave more to the press then most other public figures ever did. Now they (press) should give back to her family, give them space, peace and not chase them. They chased her to her death. Her children have to go threw the rest of their lifes without their mother, they don't need to have the world watch them grieve. Just one mothers thoughts. My cousin does security work and was working in Washington one time when she visited there. He says that most of the people he looks after don't even notice the security people. They look right through them. But Princess Diana took the time to learn everyone's name, and remembered them when said goodbye as she left. He's talked about that for years. It's such a shame for her to die now when she was just getting her life back together and her boys were both at difficult ages. Those poor kids.
