I have a posting here that Janet sent me July 8th when I inquired about the SSS swap. It says and I quote: "What you have to do is send your aassigned Secret Stamper a goodie package at least once a month, through December. (Once a month is pretty standard, some people send cards or small treats here and there, but the once a month is a minimum expectation, and also pretty standard for most people in the swap. And you must post to the mail list your thank you when you receive a package. There is no way of someone knowing when you receive it otherwise. And since your Secret Stamper will not be using his/her own return address on the package, there's always the worry it has not gotten where it was going. (These packages rarely get lost, but it's still a worry.) That's all the obligation there is: A package once a month from when ever you are assigned through December to your assigned Secret Stamper and acknowledge to the mail list whenever you receive something." I guess since I sort of started this I should contribute: The weirdest place (as in who could get in the mood there?) was a morgue. The wildest place was the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge. The craziest place (as in you could get caught) is regularly in my apartment hot tub. The place is filled with grannies but none are as horny as this one! I got the idea for this when visiting Calistoga where there is an olympic sized swimming pool filled with hot, natural mineral spring water. At night steam rises off the pool water and turns immediately into thick fog upon hitting the cold night air. The result is you cannot see more than two feet in any direction when you are in the pool. We slipped off our suits and had a ball (literally) within a few feet of everyone else. My August package arrived, and it was wonderful. Lots of little goodies all wrapped up which made it so fun. Kind of like Christmas. OK, here's the stuff that I received: some rose confetti in different colors of pink and red. I love it, and have never seen this type before! Some claret tapestry EP from PSX, I love this color and do not have it, so I cant wait to try it. Thanks. A little set of 4 garden stamps on foam, and 2 little mounted gardening stamps(tools) Love gardening, these are great. A tiny mounted #1 ribbon stamp. This can be used as rewards for my kids! A correction pen, fine point. How do you know I needed another one of these? I use them A LOT!!! You are reading my mind.... Some blue twist paper for bows or backgrounds. I love this stuff and dont have this color! A great card with lemons on it, and a glass of lemonade with a nice note about enjoying the end of summer. And finally, the most impressive handmade book! This is my all time favorite thing. I have to know what "padding glue" is, and where you get it. I've got to try making these books. I LOVE IT! The paper on the outside of the book is black with gold symbols and a gold embossed face on tam confetti paper on top. There is also a book mark inside. Love this a lot!!! Thank you so much SS, you have outdone yourself! Keep up the good work! Ever wonder why most large dogs never go over the fence even tho' they can practically step over the top? Because when they jumped as puppies, they couldn't get over, so they continue to think they can't--unless they accidentally do. I think the real point of that elephant story is that we grow up with certain limiting expectations (you're a girl--you can't be a doctor, lumberjack, jet pilot, etc.), then we never learn to break loose of those limitations because we think we can't. There are roles we learn to play in life, especially within the family (she's the good one, she's the smart one, he's so-o-o clumsy), and breaking loose is both difficult & stressful to everyone around you. We often don't even see the patterns we're in--the rope around our ankle. barb b This message was from StFlossie@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
