Acknowledge via the rubberstampers e-mail list (rubberstampers@crafts.dm.net) anything your Secret Stamper sends to you. Stay subscribed to the mail list (OR make arrangements for communication to the list through someone else) during the swap period - July through December). This swap really is just for list members, although people do drop on and off the list and stay in this swap. (People dropping out of this swap cause us problems. We can deal with them but we don't like to.) Communicate with the swap coordinators (Frank and Janet) any problems you have concerning this commitment, or with how your Secret Stamper is meeting his/her commitment. Deadbeat Secret Stampers have very little grace period this round, if a package hasn't been mailed by the end of the month, and no communication has happened between the participant and the swap coordinators, you WILL be hearing from us within a week or so. And you MUST respond to us, giving us an ETA on this month's package, within two weeks or you will be dropped from the swap. It sounds ugly, but it has to happen this way. We need you to reply to this message agreeing to all the above before we can match you. Do not make this commitment lightly, the person you'll be sending to didn't. We can be very understanding, we even have a flock of angels to help out if you get in trouble some month, but you MUST communicate with us. This swap is a lot of fun (even for us!) but everybody has to do their part for it to work. ====================================================================== === Janet Detter Margul | Real women don't have hot flashes... There was an black embossed girl that was colored nicely and placed on the card in a 3-D fashion. The insideof the card was stamped with multi colored ink saying "if friends were flowers....I'd pick you". I think that the card we received was with out doggy drool. Katrina Mayer Used white card stock, and some very funny stamps from "we be stampin'". I think some of the card was decorated with puffy liquid applique around a yellow sun and a funny lookin' girl(?) with yellow hair and around a sign reading "Welcome to my Beach". So as soon as I had all my selections in the cart, we headed back to the toy department. I came upon a little boy (around 8) that was being yelled at by his mother from about 10 ft away. The little boy had a shopping cart and so did she. He was blocking the aisle and I couldn't get through. BUT I was very patient, and let the child answer his mother and I didn't interrupt. I heard her say something about "excuse me" but she wasn';t talking to me and I wasn't really sure who she was talking to. She kept yelling at the kid and I was patiently waiting for him to move. She finally looks at the little boy like he was some kind of alian and said "MOVE the BITCH can't say excuse me"!!!!!!!!! I about dropped my teeth. The only reply I could think of was "I beg your pardon" quite loudly. And we wonder why kids act the way the do!!!!!! She didn't even acknowledge that I had spoken to her and I had even smiled at her just before she cussed me out to let her know I was being patient and he was trying to answer her question. I really have a wonderful SSS! My birthday is next week, and she remembered! It's the first birthday card and present I've gotten. She sent me a really fun card - balloons - each one individually stamped, colored and cut out, then bunched together and mounted on vellum, with yarn hanging down for strings! This was on top of a card made out of 'Happy Birthday' paper - this card gave me some good ideas for some paper I've got that I've been wondering what to do with! Then, the most wonderful gift! A pair of Kai scissors!! I have wanted some of these for so long! I always think about ordering them, and put it off - I can't wait to use these!! I got to try some when I was down in Washington last spring, so I know how wonderful they are. Thank you _so_ much, SSS - you are really special! I only hope that your SSS is treating you so well - you deserve it!
