The textured wallpaper is simply awesome. The gold, lined cardstock and the shiny marbelized cardstock - I have never seen anything like it. How do you do the crayon thing - that paper would make wonderful backgrounds. Also where in the world do you get those neat little squares of printed paper. I plan on hoarding those for origami. I have everything down at the store now, so when I get a package I open it there. There was a lady in the store when I opened it today, I thought she was going to try to get it from me - she wanted that cardstock real bad. She was offering big bucks - it was so funny. I've had the store open since Sept 1 and am absolutely in awe at the amount of business I am doing in this seemingly small town. Tourist season is drawing to a close and we will get a wee rest now before skiing starts. The bull elk are calling and gathering their herds. It's like someone tells them Labour Day is over, so get on with it!! My first class at the store is next Wednesday, and it looks like I'll have to offer another. I'm limiting participation to 6 people only and I have way more interest than I anticipated. Some ladies want a different evening of course - so no problem. What I like most about having the stamp store is the great folks I meet every day. Even if they do not buy, but are just in looking - it is so neat to talk to them and find out where they are from. I had a couple in from Washington today. She kept picking up stamps, and finally her husband said "Ok, that's enough now - we have to eat you know" I could hardly keep a straight face, I was just cracking up inside. She looked at me and said "I just love adding to his collection!!" Must say goodnight, but wanted to let you know how much I enjoy the packages and cards I get from you. I think these people are kind of upset, and if they aren't members of the RS list, it might be appropriate to make sure we are not sending to them accidently. I think I've seen at least 4 people from that list asking to be removed. Or maybe it was the same two or three, but surely more than one. I'm enjoying this TAN, but they're not . It's too bad when our stuff inadvertently goes to strangers, but this TAN is obviously upsetting them, and seeing what list they ARE on, I can understand. So why don't we all take a look at our forwarding lists, and make sure that we're not forwarding any unwanted materials to them. --`--,--{@ Patti in Fort Myers, FL @}--`--,-- ~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~^~:~ Computers are life. I can be financially independent on my own if I have to (ie I work as a full time professional), just would have to watch the extras until some bills are paid down. Before I make this any longer, I am looking for someone who would be willing to listen to my reasons for wanting a divorce and who could give me some educated feedback. These were so wonderful! I love every single one of these. Here is what I got: *From Sharon, the Mouse Potato- A brown bookmark onto which is layered a white bookmark that is cut with the heartbeat fiskars (I think). Sharon has hand lettered the words school days down the bookmark at an angle. Stamped on the card is a brown ruler, a blue crayon and a red apple. This is so perfect. I am going to show this to my students so they can get an idea for stamping. *From Beverly, AKA Steelerstamper- A red card onto which is layered some black polkadot paper cut with fiskars. on top of the paper is a yellow school bus next to a sign that says bus stop. There is a yellow sun shining down on the whole scene. Inside the card is more black polkadot paper. On top of this is a teacher with his class. I recognize those stamps from California Rubber STamps. The saying is There baaaaack!!!!! How true! How True!. This is a great card. *Betsy Bursey sent a green postcard layered with blue paper. She cut some posters out of a teachers magazine and put them on the "wall of the classroom. The teacher is an older lady, or else a teacher at the end of the school year (VBG) standing next to a chalkboard. The chalkboard is made from a scratch board into which is scratched the word Welcome. I am going to put this on the door of my classroom. The kids will get a gret laugh! *Teresa the ArtLady sent a card using stamps that she designed for When the Rubber Hits the Road. I need these stamps!! They are perfect for my classroom. In the middle of the card stamped on clay is an apple. a half apple, and an apple core. She suggests turning the clay piece into a magnet or a pin. Now my dilemma- pin? magnet? Pin? Magnet? *From Tammy Sue Reynolds I received a box of crayons. I am glad they didn't melt in the heat we are having here in L.A. Taped to the crayons is a pop up card. The front has a school house fromHero Arts ( the same oner I used on my treasure books- great minds think alike) The pop up on the inside is a brown pot with a crayon coming out of it, an apple, and a yellow ruler. At the bottom is a pair of scissors. This will be a hit with my students and fellow teachers. *Linda Lloyd sent a card made from the teacher's favorite paper- vanilla manila. A red apple is stamped in the middle, right above the saying To Teach Is To Touch Someone's Life Forever. Around the card are some stickers- a bear in a slicker, a book, a teacher's bag, an apple some scissor and an apple. Inside is printed a wonderful poem called the ABC's of teaching. More apples are stamped around the poem. Linda, do you mind is I make a copy of this poem for all my mentees? This is perfect to give them next week after the initial excitement of teaching has worn off. I love this poem. I am showing it to my principal. He will probably want it for the whole staff. Where did you get it, or did you make it up? *From Erin, A red card with a piece of white cardstock cut wuth cloud fiskars. In the upper left hand corner, there is a teacher holding a chalboard that says I love teaching. In the middle in purple is a frame with the sayign: To teach is to touch Someone's life forever. A red schoolhouse in in the lower right corner. Around all of this are some blocks. Very Cute and very inspiring. I got an extra card because I sent in a treasure book for everyone. I hope you all enjoyed it!! Liz Salcido Left Stamper This message was from Elizabeth Salcido - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I am struggling with a health problem that I have had for about a year now. This has prevented me from working, but I have done better lately. My dilemma now is that my doctor wants to take me off the medication I am on...the only thing that has allowed me to live a normal life again. I have an appointment with her tomorrow, and I would really appreciate it if you all would keep me in your prayers!! Thanks much Jaimee :) This message was from Olyvia29@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
