I'm pretty sure that I have a good reputation again, but... Would > my bad time influence my entry on the list? There are a couple of Your bad time influenced your reputation on the list until you fixed all your bad stuff.. I came on the list just about the same time you came back, and fixed all your stuff.. just a bit before actually.. so I missed the stink but was in time for some of the flack.. and seeing folks post about how it had been fixed (and there was a bit of time where that was iffy, but watching it being iffy and watching it being fixed too was important.. so I'm glad it ALL happened publicly instead of just the bad part) but once you fixed it, and then everything went good, that fixed it. I dunno whether any of the folks caught in the bad time have returned as customers.. but seeing the things that were wrong get fixed and seeing you come back strong influenced ME.. and I myself have no trouble at all recommending you as an excellent vendor.. and I'm sure you worked mighty hard to see to it that I have no problem doing so. but.. I guess if this vendor list had started up 9 months ago or so, you'd either not be on it, or be on it with a be wary mark aside you.. cuz there was some outstanding stuff. so.. I'd hope that if/when similar things happen to other folks, when the outstanding stuff gets cleared up, the be-wary notation or whatever would be cleared up too. I'd think the list would be a dynamic thing rather than a static thing.. It is my hope it would inform us when a particular vendor was havin' trouble and was less than reliable, but then when they got their stuff back together and became reliable again, the bad time would be erased and we could all go on from there. I think you have probably proved that that can happen... and.. if Lisa can fix all her bad stuff, and be upfront about it rather than evasive, and answer her e-mail and the posts that are directed at her 'bout that stuff, in an upfront and non-confrontational manner, as YOU did, then she'll come out ok too. I feel bad 'bout lisa, although I had nothing at all to do with her credibility problems, I still feel bad.. go figure that.. but she's brought some of 'em on herself by not answering posts, or answering in a defensive tone when she does.. quitting the list for sure isn't gonna build her business.. clearing up her problems is what it's gonna take, and being upfront about it. I know it takes time.. maybe she doesn't have the time.. but.. if she doesn't FIND the time, then she's not gonna have much of a business.. but then I'm not sure a thriving business was ever her goal.. I think she just wanted to bring some stamping stuff that's not readily available to her part of SC, and share some of that with the list folks at the same time.. and maybe she's done that.. it is real sparse pickin's here, and her part of SC is worse than mine far as shopping opportunities go.. I hope she's finding a market for the stuff she's bringing in down her way.. anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I received my last two packages from you for May and June. I understand about not having much time as I have my own store as you know which leaves me even less time than ever. I thought I would have all this spare time to sit down and stamp in my shop. After about the first week, I realized that it was a very foolish thought!!! Anyway, sorry to get this posted so late. My boxes were stuffed, AND I MEAN STUFFED, with great gifts! My SSS made up little tiny boxes decorated with flowers and halloween and stuffed with M & M's and coated almonds (my favorite). I got textured background papers (gotta get these for my shop), die cut boxes, large glossy envelopes (never seen these before in my life!), and several kinds of confetti. The theme for one of the boxes was tea time and the other was July 4th theme. The tea time had two large 'Halos' mounted stamps (one is a great tea bag) and several smaller wood mounted stamps. It even had a tea bag holder embossed with 'verdigris' ep and I have saved it for hanging up in the store because it is soooo pretty! The July 4th box had several wood mounted stamps which include the best flag stamp I've seen. It's from Stampington. I order quite a bit from them because they have wonderful stamps. My SSS also has sent many sets of cardstock with envy's! How thought- ful she has been to me! Thanks so much for the many months of wonderful gifts! This list has been my saving grace at times, because my personal life has been in turmoil for about 18 months. I enjoy reading all of the neat tips, techniques, jokes, etc. And, it bothers me when others are upset and hurt. And, I know how badly it feels to feel left out from your SS (although mine have been very good). But, I must tell you this. Today was a horrible day at school. I'm in charge of Yearbook and today is always the worst day of the year ... senior formals and casuals. And, as usual, I am right. Everything that could go wrong today did. My disk ate my football program (which has to be printed tomorrow). I had two or three kids come to me in tears. So, when I came home and downloaded all my messages, I cheered up. I had sent a few packages out to some stamping friends from the list because they hadn't received gifts from their SS. And, I saw their messages today. Their gratitude made me smile and really remember that it is better to give than to receive. So, if your day is as bad as mine, take the time and find someone on the list to send a little something to. Because the gift you receive in return will be returned tenfold. I hope, if you've read this far, that you've found this message worthwhile. Because, just knowing that someone may read this and maybe receive some joy in the end by giving to others, has made this message worthwhile. Oh, normally I'm not on my soapbox, but tonight was just "one of those nights." :) Have a great day tomorrow! I'm hoping that mine will at least be better than today. (although I have underclassmen pictures to contend with tomorrow) Have fun stamping!
