Stampatti can tell you that! Sometimes the things we want to do and would enjoy doing just can't happen in the period of time we find ourselves in, after our commitment. Life's too short to let this keep you awake at night. You had good intentions, you emailed, you still couldn't do it. Let it rest, Rhonda... and let yourself rest. At some point in time, if you decide you can sign up for swaps again... it will be the right time and you will be able to do them. I read a book way back in 1984 ... don't even remember the name of the book. The only thing I remember about it is a phrase that has stuck with me for 13 years.... "to feel guilty about an action that we did with good intentions... is to be twice guilty." This phrase is surely open to many interpretations... but what I personally think it means is.... we do our best at any given point in time. If we fall short of our goal, we make our apologies to others AND ourselves... and keep on keeping on to greater heights, because, hey! We know we can do it and dwelling on our "failures" delays our progress. Hmmmm, must be time for Evo to go to bed. She's philosophising... yep... time to go to bed. But not before I say... Thank you, Stampatti, for not giving me a guilt trip above and beyond what I was giving myself. You accepted my lack of being able to perform better than I did! But then I remembered the phrase... and I almost forgave myself as quickly and wonderfully as you did. Took me a tad longer. Rhonda... anyone who just read your post has to know your heart is in the right place.
