Pivot Palette ???? you can stamp more than just solid stamps on it -any stamp will do - i have a very pretty lace leaf that is mostly an outline stamp and it looks heavenly. also, try any background or texture stamp to create a multi-colored background. -also pass a brayer over it and brayer your card, then do the Joseph's coat technique over top. - -use it whereever you would use a normal ink pad -i.e. for sponging, regular stamping. You can also emboss if you use the tsukineko dual emboss pens instead of regular pens on the palette. Have fun. How does this happen? > >Brenda W A R N I N G EXPLANATION BELOW It's a simple mathematical trick. Step 5 always leads to "9" as the answer, forcing the answer for step 6 to be "5." When you multiply by 2 in step 7 you always get "10," and you end up with "4" as the answer to step 8. This always leads to the letter "D," and I'd be hard pressed to think of another country that begins with the letter "D." The "E" (second letter) leads almost inevitably to an "elephant;" try as I might, I can't think of another mammal that begins with an "E" (What's an "emu"--a bird, right?) So, what are you left with? The color 99.99% of people would choose for an elephant would be gray. Hi All, I recieved the Word Print swap today. From Donna Christman: She stamped and embossedwith a in gold a bouquet(I don't know my flower well enough to know what kind, sorry) and used pink marker to color the little flowers in. Looks like she stamped on vellum and cut out the image. She layered in on a white fiskar cut notecard that was stamped with pink, orange, and yellow flower word prints stamp. This was layered on the bright pink card stock. On the inside stamped and embossed in gold the words "From the seeds of kindness, happiness grows." A lovely Springtime card. From Chelle: She stamped and embossed in silver a starburst type flower on Maroonish brown card stock and cut it out and raised it. She layered the flower in the Thank you word print stamped in pine green. She used markers to color the little flowers on the stamp. She layered this on another maroonish brown cardstock that was a little larger than the fiskars cut thank you notecard. It was trimmed in sliver. All these were layered on a glossy white card that had been stamped in black with the starburst type flower for added background. A very nice happy kind of card. Going along with my seasonal theme, it would cheer someone during the late winter early spring days. From FranRShaw: Okay the seasonal theme I've continued through this post. This is definitely fall. No doubt. This is a very pretty card. Starting from the bottom up this time. She has a brownish orange notcard to start. She used fushia dye ink to stamp leaf word prints stamp on a cream notecard and cut with postiod edging scissors. On the top left corner of this notecard she added fall decorator leaves with a raffia bow. Across the bottom she stamp and embossee 2 oak (maybe maple) leaves with gold. Then blened the leaves with different colors of chalk. It could also be interfence paint. I've only seen that used once so I can't be sure. Between the leaves are two ivy leaves stamped and embossed in gold on green paper. Nicely done. I recieved Cindy's card and AlphBecky's bookmark. Like them both will but Fran discribed them so well, I'm copying her words. To below are Fran Robertshaw's works: "From AlphaBecky: She is always so creative!!! She used the travel wordprints and layered it on a green bookmark. Then she added light green mulberry paper, a stamped and colored cruise ship, and 3 foreign postage stamps! I love it Becky!! From our hostess, Cindy Piet: A very striking card! The "Love" wordprints is stamped on black paper and embossed with a clear EP that has little sparkles in it... so you can only see it when you move it around! There is a little butterfly at the bottom right corner, colored in shades of purple. The whole thing is mounted on purple cardstock. Inside, the verse "Love is like a butterfly: It goes wherever it pleases... and it pleases wherever it goes" is printed on vellum and attached to the card. Cindy, how do you find time to get all this done??" Thank you Fran for the great descriptions. I think both of these works are just beautiful as were all the cards in this swap. I hope I didn't offend Cindy or AlphBecky by not discribing their contributions myself. If that isn't a fair way to post let me know I'll not do it again. Carol P.S. Thanks Cindy for hosting. It was a fun swap to do. Thanks to very one who played. I enjoyed getting your cards, and bookmark. Is this about a card I sent? If so, my apologies for not responding. Obviously, the ole delete finger was at work! I'm not sure what the original question was, but there are two easy ways to do shaker cards without the foam core. Sometimes I use fun foam. It can be layered if you need a thicker opening. For this particular card I used strips of double-sided foam mounting tape between two pieces of cardstock. The bag was done with a seal-a-meal and has a piece of plastic transparency sheet over it. I just wanted to post that I received the Fred B Mullet swap quite a number of days ago. Of course the cards were wonderful as always. I think most of them have been described (but it's still fun to see). These are the ones that I got... "CC"-a wonderful feather card- looks watercolored and then layered on a piece of paper with grass fibers, Red Scott- quite the background! maybe it was sponged in vibrant colors and then two fishes embossed on top of that with the saying "I want to swallow you whole", splatto posto (carrotpea)- lots of layers...shiney stripes, red, purple mulberry, gold and then a fish on a blue watercolored background- quite lovely, Rachael Innes -clay fish cut out and layered on top of lots of little fishes on brown hand torn paper- almost looks like leather- great card, the Turtle Man himself- you actually cut out all those sand dollars?! wow. I'm not sure what you call the card design, but it has 5 semi-circle flaps that fold inward to conceal the surprise of a fish on a really neat blue background- too cool, AND one from Fred B Mullet!- a tan card with a big fish (sorry, I don't know what type) done just like he did in the may/june issue of somerset studio. It's quite lovely. I shall treasue all of these (and maybe borrow a few of your ideas- hee hee). Thanks again! And until next time... Ta. I have been told I have the neatest clutter anywhere!! I think it's just because my house is small and 6 packrats live here!! But I have a table with my rubber stamping stuff and several clear plastic containers. This way I can see what's in them. I have my cardstock in stand up plastic magazine racks, my stamps and inls are in a 5 draw plastic cart by the table. The clear plastic boxes I can stack on one another and go to the ceiling if I want. Not yet though ! I have my email info in 3 ring binders with dividers for Swaps, Vendors , Info on how to's and miscellaneous for the articles of interest. I have a second binder for the 'Angel' list, the snail mail list, the currant Swap List .
