SWAP So here's my .02 on the subject. When I send in a swap, I include whatever the hostess asks for... in stamps or in $$ whichever... I don't expect the hostess to return any of it if it's over... that's too much of a hassle. Swap hosting is a lot of work, and if someone has 32 cents left after mailing my cards, I feel that's a very small price to pay for the hostess who is doing all the work. By the same token, when I host a swap, I ask the participants to send in equal postage or $1, whichever is easiest for the person. The BIG swap I'm doing (States/Provinces/Countries) where everybody will make a card for everyone else, I asked for $4 (cause I plan to ship Priority for US addresses, and air mail for others). When I send cards back, I don't send leftover postage back. In fact, what I do is pool all the stamps that come in and buy stamps from my business with the $'s. Usually, by the time I am done putting postage on everyone's package, I end up having to supply more stamps on my own. Now, this is the best way for ME to do it and is by no means the ONLY way... but it works for me. At this point, I feel it's just too much trouble to try and figure out who I owe 12 cents to, or 5 cents to, or whatever. I've not had any complaints about unreturned postage.... I figure this person's 12 cents, and this person's 5 cents make up for this other person who was 17 cents short... IMHO, life is too short to worry about a couple of cents here and there... - -Fran the Frantic Stamper :-@ - ------------------------------------ For great paper deals, check: http://www.angelfire.com/biz/franticstamp This message was from FranRShaw@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
