I am still waiting for 2 swaps that I sent out over a month ago. One was a vellum swap hosted by Suki and the other was a Rose swap and I forgot who hosted that one. I did an ivory card for the rose swap with a burgundy velvet rose inset. Has anyone received this card in a swap? For the vellum swap I did a green cardstock with a layer of yellow and white stripe paper over it and a layer of velllum with flowers stamped and colored with Marvy's . So if you have received either of these cards in a swap or know the status of these swaps, please, please let me know. I would hate to think that I got taken. I was very pleased with the results. I used Marvy markers to color the image on my stamp and them pressed very lightly onto the dough. I did find out through trial and error that I needed to roll out the dough, cut to shape, and stamp directly on my cookie sheet because once it was stamped it was very hard to move without affecting the image. Today I will try using food colors to color the dough both completely and a marble look before stamping. I also considered adding glitter either mixed into the dough or sprinkled on top. Wonder if this will work? The dough is used was 1 c. flour, 1c. salt, and about 1/3 c. water. It did puff some in the oven (250F) but this looked interesting on some of the shapes (Christmas tree, etc.) Has anyone else done this with another dough recipe and not had it puff? I found if I pricked the dough during cooking it did go down slightly but not completely,. Maybe I should have pricked before, like you do with pie crust? I also bought the food color markers so that I can stamp on sugar cookies. I think these will be fun for parties. If anyone has suggestions or ideas about stamping on dough, please share! If you did not mail yours, please email me and let me know it will be late so I can let your receiver know. I have had several people contact me saying "I didn't get my package". Remember that if it was mailed on Sept 17th, it may take a week to 10 days to get to you. Please be patient. 2. Please, Please when you receive your package, email the list describing what you received. There is notheing more frustrating than putting time and money into a package for someone and then never hearing whether or not it was received. I might suggest 2 things---1. email the list AND 2. email your sender of you know who she is. Hope everyone had fun with this scavenger hunt. I took them to the store, and Penney, the owner said any of them would be great. (The cards were due the next day). So I ask what she meant. She then told me I had to make 20 of the same card!!!! I have found a great deal on corrugated paper. I have colors and prices like no one else I have found. Each 8.5 by 11 sheet of either regular straight corrugated or the new wavy corrugated costs only $0.75. The metallic colors cost $1.25 per sheet. I also have grab bags of pre-cut squares and rectangles, no bigger than the front of a card. These grab bags sell for $2.00. If you line up the pieces, you'll find that you have a little over 2 full sheets of corrugated paper. Corrugated paper makes a great embellishment for cards. This may just be what you need to add a little something to your holiday cards. The gold corrugated is really shiny and feels like satin. It would really dress up a card. I have even used the corrugated paper as the card itself since the back side of the paper (inside of the card) is smooth. I then mount an image to the front of the card and a saying to the inside. Or I use a metallic pen to write my message inside. It really makes for an interesting card. The color choices are listed below. If you want a grab bag, you can even tell me what colors you would like in it and I will do my best. Wavy - 75 cents per sheet - Green, red, yellow, dark gray, charcoal, black, white, blue, natural Wavy - $1.25 per sheet - gold Straight - 75 cents per sheet - eggplant, forest, white, black, natural Straight - $1.25 per sheet - gold and silver Shipping will be added on to your order after I weigh it to see how much postage will be. But, since corrugated paper is pretty light, it shouldn't be much. If you would like to place an order, or have any questions, please e-mail me at PaperArts@aol.com. Take care!
