Thanks for the embossing liquid tip when using kais, Jody! Yours was the only reply mentioning the stuff - everyone else talked about using WD-40, glycerine, etc. I went to Wal-Mart today and looked at WD-40...I don't think I'd want to go near that stuff in an enclosed room! I'm already inhaling unknowns from ep, pigment inks, etc - my poor brain! It'll soon be empty like the pink one Jonni from Inklusions sent me (after I took out all the UMs). The only glycerine I could find was in the form of glycerine suppositories...ewwww! Now that calls to mind a deductive reasoning question...if you use glycerine on your kais and if you use glycerine up your bum, then can you put kais up your bum? Ow, that sounds painful! Sorry for the crude joke :/ I just couldn't resist! It was screaming to be said! And finally - I will ask all the newbie RS questions I can think of - and I've already asked quite a few! I call mine Sex. Now Sex has been very embarrassing to me. When I went to City Hall to renew his dog license, I told the clerk I would like to have a license for Sex. He said, "I'd like to have one, too." Then I said, "But this is a dog!" He said he didn't care what she looked like. Then I said, "But you don't understand. I've had Sex since I was nine years old." He said I must have been quite a kid. When I got married and went on my honeymoon, I took the dog with me. I told the motel clerk that I wanted a room for my wife and me and a special room for Sex. He said every room in the place was for sex. I said, "You don't understand. Sex keeps me awake at night!" The clerk said, "Me too." One day I entered Sex in a contest, but before the competition began, the dog ran away. Another contestant asked me why I was just stading there looking around. I told him I had planned to have Sex in the contest. He told me I should have sold my own tickets. "But you don't understand," I said, "I had hoped to have Sex on TV." He called me a show-off. When my wife and I seaparted, we went to court to fight custody of the dog. I said, "Your honor, I had Sex before I was married." The judge said, "Me too." Then I told him that after I was married, Sex left me. He said, "Me too." Last night Sex ran off again. I spent hours looking around town for him. A cop came over to me and asked, "What are you doing in this alley at 4:00 in the morning?" I said, "I'm looking for Sex." My case comes up Friday. This is a real card to study! From Ann-onymous a card to tickle and delight. I loved the cat fur idea...Mine would be dog fur. Does your cat put its paws on the computer keyboard too? From Lynn Legge the cutest explosion card which was a total surprise. She used great layering on the outside, but when I opened it what a surprise. I've got the "How you bean? stamp and you've given me some great ideas! From Susan Benedict a delicate lovely card with a beautiful saying. I loved the light coloring and placement! From Suzanne Reynolds a great dark read card with spirals and coffee beans on the bottom layer. The Paula Best cup is great...wish I could get a catalog. A bunch of local stampers and craftspeople will get together and make craft projects- cards, ornaments and stationery to be sold by Fox Chase Farm at their Holiday Greens sale in December. (Fox Chase Farm is the last working farm in the city of Philadelphia, PA) Any style will be welcome from realistic to cutesy. (Since the farm is an educational facility we get a LOT of schoolchildren and their families.) I will also take used or damaged stamps (index stamps) to combine with the stamps I have already collected. Organizing this stamp-a-thon is out of my own pocket. I have been trading and soliciting donations from a lot of small stamp companies (like me) and they have been generous;-) I get nothing out of this but helping a historical educational facility Since these final projects are for sale, I need Angel companies only. Mounted or UMs are both welcome! Please let me know if you have any stamps you are willing to donate. I am willing to trade new Painted Turtle Studio stamps for larger collections. I hope that someone out there can give me positive answers to my questions, as I am going to attend a Stampin' Up party real soon and I hope to do a lot of shopping there. Please consider it. >> I think this is a great idea, I have trouble remember this also Pebbles This message was from Thepebbles@aol.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Fee free to speak up on > this subject!!!!! that's such a touchy thing.. it's like a restaurant.. you might go to a restaurant one day and have the best meal of your life and recommend it to all your friends. most of your friends might well go there and have the best meal of their life too.. one or two of your friends might go there and have an awful time, not care for the food, be seated next to an obnoxious table of diners, get a server who's overly harried for whatever reason and swear it was the worst restaurant they've ever been to (and be right, for them).. but.. does that make it a bad restaurant?? Because that person had a lousy meal, does that mean nobody should dine there? Better, IMO, to have a list of vendors.. and what they carry... very useful info. and if you consult the list, and find a vendor that carries what you want at the moment, then post to the list.. I'm considering placing an order with this person, but I've never ordered from them before.. could you reply to me privately with your experiences, if you've used this vendor before.. then.. weigh the responses you get. You may get 90 positives and 10 negatives.. I'd go with those odds. You may get 10 positives and 90 negatives.. I'd consult that list again in that case.. but I think that's the best way to go... whether to order from a particular vendor or not is something that should be decided by an individual, on a case by case basis.. not by one list keeper, on a global, for everybody basis.. I think. anno This message was from "anno" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I honestly mean incredible. Unbelievable. Astounishing. Remarkable. Exemplary service. In fact, I'm not even sure if I should accept this.... See, I had ordered a pound of unmounted rubber but it had gotten shipped to the wrong address. It took quite a bit of time and communication between VLVS and I to determine exactly what had happened to the order... and then Stampo asked me how I wanted to handle the order (refund vs replacement). After careful consideration, I sent him a list of a few unmounteds that I would like.... Well, UPS delivered the order Thursday evening. I was at the hospital ER .. you know that car wreck I was in last Friday? Well, my jaw is busted. The left side of my face swelled up and is constantly moving because of muscle tics... the muscles are pulling my lip up and the skin around my eye down. Almost funny... I look pretty strange. Okay, no funny comments about that! LOL - oh, I shouldn't do that... hurts so when I laugh... Anyway, I didn't get back home until late and really couldn't stay up to post because I was so tired and I wanted to do nothing but sleep. Then, I was busy yesterday with more doctor's appts so couldn't post then. But, imagine my pleasure and surprise Friday morning when I opened the package from VLVS. I'm talking majorly overdone customer service! I mean, Stampo, this is a wonderful R.A.K.! There isn't any other way to describe this... you went LEAPS AND BOUNDS beyond the call of good vendorship on this one. I'm astounded. I'm delighted. I'm in rubber heaven. Oh, the images are incredible AND THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM! See, Stampo sent not just the unmounteds I said I would like in lieu of the original pound of rubber order... but he sent them AND a pound of rubber. I have Godzilla two different ways. I have sea monkeys. I have tons o' nuns (Hee, and I'm Jewish!). I have a Sumu wrestler's backside. I have a flying pig. I have a "Pigged out at the Rubber Buffet" postoid!!!!! This is truly incredible and I'm smiling too much for my jaw to handle. Thank you so very much, Stampo! I'm off to fondle ALL of this rubber! Hee, my oldest daughter (Megan, age 10) says she's in rubber heaven too and that she's going to join my in my rubber perusal pleasure. This was my first returned swap - now I'm very anxious for my other swaps to start coming in. I received: From Shell: Navy blue or black cardstock with an angel mounted with double-sided tape and a large star around the hole for the burgandy ribbon. From Lynn: On white cardstock, a Winnie and Piglet picture layed on shiny paper with that paper being layered on black and that layered on red. From Heather: A tan cardstock with musical symbols stamped on it and then triangles of blue and red and then a guitar layered on the triangles. From Susan: A plaid card with Winnie and Christopher Robin stamped on it with "Promise you'll never forget me, ever." From MB: On white cardstock, country hearts stamped in different colors, and Happy Birthday on the inside. From BSR: On white cardstock, two little dancing mice holding flowers, and stamped to look like it has been stitched around the edges. From Bonnie: On white speckled cardstock a Mickey and Minnie in a wreath layered on green with embossed white snowflakes. Thanks to Bonnie Lass for hostessing this swap. I think all the cards are too pretty to use except for my family so I can keep them!!
