I found some great old nautical charts and a book on navigating, an old ship building book, and some really old church hymnbooks. I thought the nautical charts would look neat as layering behind a clipper ship stamp that I have, and the navigating book pages with a couple of the celestial designs I have. The hymnbook pages are really old, pretty brittle, but I think I can salvage them to use with some of my music stamps for backgrounds. Especially the Christmas songs for Christmas cards. The woman who had the sale asked me what I wanted them for, and was fascinated when I told her I used them to make rubber stamped cards. So after I make up some cards, I'm going to surprise her with one. I think I paid a total of 50 cents for the whole bagful of goodies - can't beat that! I got a box Full of wonderful stuff. Some I don't know what to do with and will need suggestions. There was a post-it-note pad, great for all those masking jobs. Half a dozen different wooden cutouts. These will be fun to play with. Maybe make some little pins out of them or attach to cards as embellishments. I got 5 little papercasts. I've seen these used on many different handcrafted items but haven't tried anything myself so this will be interesting to work with. This is such a varied and unusual package! The next thing is 7 fabric pieces with a stamped design, for window cards? There is a stamp wheel called a 'Stamp Doodler'. I have never seen these. It is a Birthday design and will get a big workout I'm sure (I come from a large family and send many BD cards). She also sent a rubber die set. I do not know the vendor. It is real neat. There is an outer frame that has candles and other birthday party decorations and then there is an inner die that you stamp inside the frame, it frames the outer frame with the words 'Happy Birthday'. I haven't seen this style before but it's great! There is a small round clear plastic box that has some golden wirey stuff in it. I think it might be some type of spring but need some hints here so I know what to do with it. I'm sure whatever it is will be real neat. Next I found 2 large silver charms and 2 large pewter charms. Love them- have to make something for myself so I can keep these. My sss sent some seeds packets and stickers, fun embellishments. Thanks for the small kraft paper journal I have seen these and planned on getting one eventually. The metallic tape and dispenser is going to be real fun to use. I love this. It will be fun to use as trim strip on the edge of cards. At the bottom of the box there was a packet of die cuts for memory albums and several sheets of vellum. I am going to make some of those vellum cards one of these days. I have been sent several and think they turn out real elegant which is one of my favorite ways to stamp. Thanks for the package. I am going to have many hours of stamping fun with this. We had to have some guy come in and sand it out where the spots were. What a mess!!!!It dulled it badly and has never looked the same. So I figured it would be pay back time when he saw the carpet. I would have deserved it but wouldn't particularly want to hear about it. I'm gonna have to keep him, he's been around for 30 years. Sometimes I just wish one of those 30 year long irritating things would change. Just one. The man still orders tomatoes on my hamburgers, after 30 years. I have never ever eaten tomatoes on my hamburger, oh yes and when he takes his shirt off at night he pulls the undershirt off with it and dumps them in the hamper, so for 30 years when I do laundry I have to stop and separate those shirts. Please note that this is the first time I have *publicly* posted about my April order to you for 2 printed vellum samplers (pre-paid). I have emailed, been ignored, emailed, received promises, ad nauseum. I finally asked just for a refund and you said it was being mailed sometime ago--plenty of time to have arrived here. Guess what? It's not here. I really don't think you should be advertising and saying everything has been straightened out when I have been (more than) patient for 5 months. I have answered others privately who have asked about "problem" vendors, so hopefully some have been warned at least. Other vendors know I often order from the list and I can honestly say I have never had anything like this happen before or since. Of course, *when* I do receive the refund, I will also post that so everyone can see it. Thanks.
