I love the gift tag you sent me. I got it on Monday. I got a Christmas gift tag- red checkered paper over which is layered some white cardstock that has been stamped and embossed with what looks like a quilt square. There are smaller squares each with something different. How did you color everything so perfectly? I love it. School is great. I have a wonderful class. Even though a third of my class has learning disabilities, and can be frustrating at times, they are so eager to learn. I teach fifth grade. I am teaching them to read and write in English. Most of them already read and write on a fifth grade level in both Spanish and English. I took some stamps to school. I also bought a set of HALOS for my classroom. I put all of my foam mounted stamps on those and have them at school. That is where the kids choose to go when they finish their work. Some choose that over using the computers (I have 3 in my classroom). Thanks for all the well wishes. You made my week!!!!!! Wonderful cards returned. I think I remember seeing on the list where you were late mailing them due to a migraine. Hope you are coping. I've been there, done that, so know what you are going through. Jhone: White cardstock with rounded edges on which she has placed a layer of mirror gold card stock, and then some gold and white hand made paper which has been ripped and corrugated. On top of all this is a sun embossed in gold on white glossy cardstock. The whole card is embellished with gold stars and gold ribbon. Truly a magnificent card. Deni: Glossy cardstock with gold hearts and gold Celebrate on the front. Inside are three gold heart pop=ups. All stamps are by Denami. I love this card Deni. Maren: White cardstock with a layer of gold paper. This is topped with a layer of gold and white paper. This is topped with white corrugated square, a white feather and a white and gold dove. What an awesome idea. Tammy Sue: White cardstock. The entire front has been faced with a fine gold type cellophane. This is layered with glossy white that has been scalloped around the edges. Happy Anniversary flanks the bottom of the card. It is embellished with gold hearts, hold rope, and white star twist. Great card Tammy. StmpNFaith: The entire card front has been stamped and embossed with gold by the Judikins Hairy Scary stamp. Then two slits were put in the card and a gold cord was tucked into the slits in the shape of a heart. What a fabulous idea. I absolutely love all the cards I received. First , is Books, lots of books and they are read in this house not just looked at. My favorite are mystery writers. Then videos. My DH likes to list things and put together our list of videos. I think it came to almost 300 and that was not the movies we tape on blanks (6 hours worth each). I collect unusual teapots , cups and saucers , mugs. I have a collection of Precious Moments figures, angels , Bradford and Avon plates, kittens , cats. I have 7 cats (live ones). We also have a lot of photos. My DH is amateur photographer and has done wedding in the past but we take a lot of photos of the kids and almost anything. I want to get into Memory albums but I just got all my pics out of shoe boxes and into those nice " photo boxes". It will be forever before I get them into albums. Since DH is a pharmacist he collects 'mortar and pestles . We both are pack rats or the nice way to say that is "We are collectors". And of course now the kids are too. But when they move out , ALL their stuff goes and never comes back! Then I'll get my " craft room "! I also collect Star Trek Christmas ornaments. I get new ones each year. I have a lovely collection of Carousel Horses. And my other favorite hobby along with RS is crocheting. I have a TON of yarn and also material that I make my baskets out of. I do some sewing. Oh, My sister just got me started on Longaberger baskets!! She sells them and not I've begun collecting. I should make a copy of this list for my family so they know what to get me for Christmas and other times. Does that give anyone else ideas??? Hmmmmmm, I guess that's all! LOL! It occurred to me while I was reading all of those responses, that you can learn a lot about someone by what they collect!!! Me? Well, of course, I collect cat things (and cats!!! - I have three right now.). I also collect many other craft items - papers, fabrics, yarns, craft books, "embellishmments", paints, (glitters! & embossing powders!), & just about anything I can glue, tape, embellish & stick to something else! I love to go to thrift shops & flea markets & garage sales & pick up things I can "spiff up"! I seem to be unusually attracted to big bags of many little things. Anything. Last week I picked up TWO huge bags of yellow Kodak slide holders. Don't ask me why. I don't take slides, & I certainly don't have any around that need to be put in slide holders. They just struck me as something I could DO something with. I don't know WHAT, tho. (If anyone has any suggestions - or if you actually NEED some...). It was all I could do to stop myself from buying the OTHER TWO BAGS!!! I also collect Christmas Ornaments, Cherished Teddies Figurines & Plates, pretty Tin Containers, & TeaCups & TeaPots. And Wallpaper Books. I've got several dozen. (Yes, I'd be willing to trade - I like the Silks & Satins!) So what does all of this tell you about me??? (That I need a BIGGER house!!!) But I'll keep all of this interesting info about the rest of you - to help me think of great things to include in SWAPS, RAKs & such. You certainly are an interesting group of people!!! I'm so glad I got up the nerve to subscribe to this list again - & THANKS to whoever it was that suggested that I download EUDORA LITE - it really helps me to manage all of these postings! How cute....loved it...I got the cutest dalmation doggie knick nack stamp...so cute, and a bunch of yummy caramels....and a wonderful crazy card...made me almost wreck...I was driving when I opened it...couldn't stop laughing. My daughter Carleigh kept saying "let me see"...so she got a hold of the card..and saw little paw prints on it and said...oh..."Blue's clues." (A Nickeloden children's show...) Thank you sooo much. I ate the candies...but the stamp is going to my son in Va. He'll love it. He's always wanted a dalmation. Thanks....you're tops.
