Susan Painted Turtle Studio - ---------------------- I am in the process of gathering stamps featuring farm animals, agricultural scenes, vegetables etc. for a stamp-a-thon to be held November 12. A bunch of local stampers and craftspeople will get together and make craft projects- cards, ornaments and stationery to be sold by Fox Chase Farm at their Holiday Greens sale in December. (Fox Chase Farm is the last working farm in the city of Philadelphia, PA) Any style will be welcome from realistic to cutesy. (Since the farm is an educational facility we get a LOT of schoolchildren and their families.) I will also take used or damaged stamps (index stamps) to combine with the stamps I have already collected. Organizing this stamp-a-thon is out of my own pocket. I have been trading and soliciting donations from a lot of small stamp companies (like me) and they have been generous;-) I get nothing out of this but helping a historical educational facility raise money for restoration and educational projects. Since these final projects are for sale, I need Angel companies only. Mounted or UMs are both welcome! Please let me know if you have any stamps you are willing to donate. I am willing to trade new Painted Turtle Studio stamps for larger collections. Anyone in the NE Philadelphia, PA area who wants to participate please e-mail me! Should be a lot of fun for a good cause. TIA, Susan L. Ruff Painted Turtle Studio 362 2nd Street Pike Suite 171 Southampton, PA 18966 This message was from "Susan L. Your not crazy, It can be very fun. Just make sure your happy with what you get before you have it put on. They guy that did mine (a unicorn with wings on my right ankle with clouds and stars) put the drawing on my ankle and told me to walk around with it, look at it in the mirror a lot before I start putting ink on it. I did I thought about it for about 45 minutes and decided yes I'll do it. That was 5 1/2 years ago. I love it, and I would do it again, however I don't want another one. One is enough for me, my husband on the other hand has 4 and wants to get more. Have fun picking one out. I'm interested in stories of tatoos you may have. For my 40th bday, I told my husband I wanted a small, tasteful tatoo on my ankle. Well, he told me in so many words that if I do get one, don't bother coming home. He hadn't married a painted lady and didn't intend on having one at this stage in the game. That was about a week ago. I let it go and decided that I wasn't about to risk my 15 yr marriage on a silly thing like that. But, in gest, I made comments about being married to a very controlling man, etc. Never getting my way (which is hardly true-I bought my last car while he was at Natl Guards and put it in the garage). Today, out of the blue, he told me that if I realy wanted to get the tatoo, that it would be ok. Don't know what changed his mind, but as a rebelish feeling before this decade comes to an end, I'm headed for that tatoo parlor soon. Am I crazy? Fall is in the air and on my doorstep! My Sept. SS package arrived yesterday and is full of wonderful Fall things - everything is in all of the fall colors: yellows, rusts, browns and oranges. The package started off with some very pretty "stuffing", white tissue hand stamped in lots of fall colored leaves. On top of everything was an envelope...of course I had to open it first. Thank you for the great card...its on speckled mustard cardstock. Next is a layer of very pretty leaf background paper (my first thought when I saw it was I wonder where she got that...going to have to keep my eye out for some. I didn't have to look very far..just to the bottom of the box !). Mounted on that was an oval cut piece of glossy white cardstock stamped with a great Scarecrow. Now for the goodies: a package of Brew-A-Cup hazelnut coffee, a TON of stickers (mostly Mrs. Grossman's), 2 different types of cloth ribbon with leaves on them, a spray of orange and rust silk leaves, a orange votive candle (My 6 yr. old's comment: Mommy that smells sooooo good!), 2 rolls of narrow ribbon, a small leaf punch (complete with all sorts of little punched out leaves sprinkled through out the package ), 2 packages of Autumn Leaves Confetti, a jar of Art Institute Glitter- Pumpkin color which I didn't have (How did you know that I'm obsessed with AI glitter right now?? My kids are calling me the Glitter Queen - I seem to be wearing a lot of it now days!), 2 Prismacolor Art Pens (I LOVE using those!!!) and a HUGE stack of scrapbooking background papers - all of them different designs and all Fall related. SS - You have been so very generous - I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness! I really enjoy discovering all the wonderful things that you tuck in each box. My head is buzzing with all sorts of ideas for new cards using the goodies that you've sent me. I especially enjoyed the card that you made...it's out on top of the small TV on my workroom table and is giving me lots of ideas! Thank you so very much for this months goodies. Take care of your self and Happy Stamping! Rubber Hugs... Punkie PS: Are you going to be going to the Bellevue Art Fest (I'm assuming that your located somewhere in Washington State)?I'll be the one going around asking everyone "Are you my SS?" (VBG!)
