She doesn't talk. She doesn't eat. I'm afraid for her health - what do you think I should do?" The pet store owner leans closer and says, "Well, I think what she needs is a roll in the hay...she's unsatisfied. I just happen to have a male parrot over there," motioning over his shoulder, "and for 10 dollars I'll let him have his way with your parrot..." The man agrees, for his parrot's health is at stake. He pays the 10 dollars to the owner and hands over the cage. The owner puts the female into the male's cage, covers the cage, and walks away. About 5 minutes go by, and there is a great ruckus from under the cage's cover. There is squawking and screaching, and feathers are flying, and the cage is rocking back and forth. The owner, who has NEVER heard this fuss before, goes to the cage and removes the cloth. There is the female parrot, on her back. The male, one claw on her chest, holding her down, and the other claw pulling the feathers from her body, is screaming, "for 10 bucks, I want you NAKED, y'hear? NAKED!!!". I had most of them so she stamped up a whole bunch of the one I don't have + pages and pages of beautiful stamps. She had to guess my style and she did a great job. The only clue I gave her is that I don't like anything "cute." Lots of florals and Victorian stuff. I got a couple of pages of postoids (now I know what the !#$ you guys are talking about!). She even did the Christmas stamps in red and green for me. There are a couple of stamps I have GOT to own! She did all this on nice heavy card stock so I'll have no problems putting them to use. Thank you Lisa for hosting it. First of all Lisa made a picture frame. Beautifully cut out. And shell stamps around the frame. Stargazer made a beautiful card, with light green/blue card stock, layered with glossy cardstock, colered in a beautiful background in different shades of blue and pink, beautifully blended. On it there's a large stamped image of a shell, colered in the same tones as the background and, using 3D tape, glued on the background, not in the middle, but in the corner. Very nice. Pen Foster made a card using white cardstock and painted the background in light blue water color. In the corner she stamped and image of a few shells . She stamped a large fis on the background, using a rainbow pad. A very nice tough is the bubbles she made with lacquer or glue, the background shines thru, very subtle!. She stamped 2 images of a smaller fish on a different piece of cardstock, colered them, cut them out and using 3D tape glued it on the background. Beautiful card. The next one is from Lisa Marie (?, I can't read the name very well). She used blue card stock, stamped 2 images of a large sea shell on it (PSX) in black ink and embossed it with silver and highlighted some parts with silver glitter. Also very beautiful. Isis Stamps made a card using white card stock and stamped a whole lot of different shells on it, like a collage. And she colored the shells. Really very beautiful. Deseray Miller (age 15), made a very beautiful card with blue clouded cardstock. And (this is very clever) she stamped water on the top of the card, and under it she stamped images of shells, some seaweed and even 2 sharks. So it looks like you looking under the water. Very nicely done. Well, I'm glad I joined this swap. There's a whole lot to learn still. A friend suggested a nice game of "Pin the Penis on Peter". If the mom-to-be gets the penis in the right place, she'll have a boy. Of course, my grandmothers would probably have simultaneous heart attacks so maybe that's not such a good idea. Oh well. S. Others seem to be able to get to it, and I can get anywhere else, but my own page comes up blank. Mark Hansen is the one who is working on it, but he's busy taking care of Jodi with her difficult pregnancy, so I don't know who else to ask. Anyone know an explanation for this strange thing. I've tried typing it in, going through the Gingerwood link, and going through a web browser. Still blank. TIA for any help.
