If you are a list member, and you owe money to a list vendor .... do the right thing --- Pay UP!!! I am all in favour of having the names of those delinquent customers posted ... my thinking is that other vendors have a right to know who is a good / bad risk. Some vendors are good enough to send out product before payment is made, and they act in good faith in doing so ... remember, if someone sent you merchandise before you sent payment, they **trusted** you. If you have $$ outstanding to a list vendor .. you owe them that money, and an apology. Ant Judy H. >>Dawn, I made a decision last week to take a few people to a collection agency. It was a hard decision until I considered that they had no concern for my family's well being. Repeated requests met with deaf ears. The collector I called requires a $50 minimum balance on each account and you will only receive half the money they pay. But one thing will be certain: people will not take you for granted in the future nor will you grant credit on an unrestricted basis, either. It's a hard lesson but not everyone cares for us as we care for them. You shouldn't have to beg to be paid. I won't any more. The secret sender swap is a great way to find out about new things. When I started on the list, I heard about Halos... but had no clue what it really was. My thoughtful SS of the time... a very pregnant Jodi Hansen who has had a difficult pregnancy and still managed to think of me.... sent me Halos and got me "hooked" (not sorry for the pun!) and some of their own um flats. It provided a way for me to try something I never would have tried. Thanks Jodi for all of your thoughtfullness and I wish you well with the new baby!=20 I also think that the list parents try to match us up with people who have similar tastes if possible and that allows friendships to blossom. My current ss and I have been able to communicate quite often. I truly enjoy her enthusiasm. She is a very generous person. I can't wait to really chat with her. She has really spoiled me. and has shown me some new techniques.=20 Thanks to my SS's past and present! I have enjoyed all of your packages and surprises along the way. Yes, this is a strong possibility. However, I feel like I'm compared disfavorably with vendors with storefronts (read: inventory already on the shelves) because they can send out their orders much faster than I can. I'm afraid that if I wait the extra week or two it takes to get peoples checks that I'll lose that much money in lost business. As it is, the average wait time from ordering to receiving the merchandise is 3-6 weeks. I mean...who wants to wait??? It's a dilemma. I'm looking forward to hearing what Phil's "system" is! My system of writing letters and then trying to sell the ordered merchandise to someone else doesn't seem to be working well. - -- :-D awn Golden Sunrise Enterprises 200 Mtn Pk Bv SW Suite A101 Issaquah WA 98027 sunrise@wolfenet.com http://members.tripod.com/~Sunrise/ fb/slam, x-files loop, Queen of the Slugs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STAMP OF THE DAY Enclosed is a Handmade Card. Rose Hernandez stamped a bold bookmark with some neat Stampin' Up stamps.....beautiful rainbow effect. She then placed them on a coordinating navy background to compliment the flowers.....Lamination made it complete. Sara Humphery-Knight sent me a note on her Oriental swap cards...They were highlighted by a beautifully embossed gold kimono and black lanterns attached with gold cording. Very elegant! Devon Fleming used lavender glossy and a darker background paper to highlight a multicolored, embossed lizard. She added texture to the background with purple dots and corner cut the edges to complete this beauty. Regina Stevenson stamped pink and purple flowers on white glossy for a striking front. She then cut around the flowers (top and bottom) to accent them. Inside she attached some vertically striped(yellow) background paper for contrast. A sentiment was placed behind a center circle to finish it off. What a cheerful card to receive. Karen Glover used medium blue glossy, squared but rounded corners to provide the background for a beautifully layered card. She then placed a lighter sheet of textured paper and two sheets of mulberry. On top of it, she exacto cut a rainbowed gecko (again done in blue tones). Leaves (some crimped and some rainbow stamped completed this neat card. Carol Brown stamped bold flowers on white, rounded the corners and then placed it on a magenta cardstock background. She then added another flower on top to create a beautiful 3D effect. My favorite colors...oooo-lllaaa-lllaaaa... Mary Sieker created a patriotic card on white glossy. A Wordprint type stamp was used for the background in a navy that was our National anthem. On top was placed the neatest American flag stamp I have seen. Just outstanding!!!! Teresa Holt put together a COFFEE card.....my favorite....She used white glossy layered on top of creme paper to provide the backdrop for brown coffee cups. The speckling on the cups is really neat....My friend, Sneak, needs that stamp for her collection.....Then she exactoed another cup on top to again make a 3D effect. inside the card were some coffee beans and the an invitation to have coffee. I am ready, Teresa.....Name the time and place.... Darlene Ave-Lallement used the same stamp that Rose did, but did it in purple with a yellow center for a different effect. Then layered some leaves and stamped more green leaves for a background. Her flower was exactoed and placed on top. The corners were rounded of this beautiful white, springy card. Maureen Butcher Stamped a Hot Potatoes leaf stamp in different pigment fall colors and clear embossed on white glossy to create a beautiful celebration of fall. She used some wonderful masking techniques to put this one together.....WOW! Finally, Charla Trusheim (Sneak) gold embossed bold chili peppers on red glossy. The white inside of the card had *party* and smaller chili peppers stamped in red....A bold card for a bold gal.....Got to get you that coffee stamp Sneak.... A special thank you to all those who participated. I got some great ideas for my small bold collection!!!!
