On October 1st I received a paper of the month package from Pamela -- pam@greycat.com Greycat Stamping Stuff . Inside were 14 pieces of exotic paper. Some really cool stuff. I took the packet to stamp club and made sure I counted it. They were convinced I wouldn't miss any of it. I also got some sand to make things with(White and Teal). Glitter (Gold, purple and blue). I also got some Whinny the Pooh stickers, teeny tiny pom poms, wiggly eyes, a small bee, angel wings (my husband said they were butterflies). There was some very pretty organza ribbon, ivory white color. She also showed a neat technique of using fusible webbing to iron exotic paper to your cards. There won't be a seam or glue seeping through the paper with this technique. I think I have a roll of that stitch witchery that will do the same thing. I'm going to try it out. I also got a couple of heart buttons. There was a note from Pam that said I would get two more packages October and November. I can't wait to see what I get. This was lots of fun. Thanks so much SSS. My computer died last Thursday morning. I am trying to catch up on posts. Today when I got my email I got a virtual card. It had really pretty sunflowers on it. Thanks so much SSS. It really brightened my day. I hope your SSS is wonderful to you. Rec'd. some stamps I ordered from Lisa today. The items came very quickly (from US to Canada). They were well-wrapped (you'd be surprised how often this is not the case & items arrive in postal "body bags" :(. Lisa included a mini Snickers bar (to be eaten w/ my tea momentarily -- thank you, Lisa!) and a note, explaining that she'd noticed some discoloration on the rubber of one stamp. She offered to replace it at no cost to me (for shipping) if need be. I'll get back to you after I've stamped it Lisa, but I shouldn't think this would mar the image. I do appreciate your offer though. Such good business practices should earn you a place on the Vendors Extrordinaire List, IMHO! That doesn't mean they are forcing that lifestyle on anybody. I think what concerns people is when they think a group of people is trying to force a lifestyle choice onto others. Promise Keepers is a Christian group. They aren't stepping outside of their meetings to try to push non-Christian people to live the way they do. It seems to be to me to be focused only on the men who attend and what those men can do to be better fathers, husbands and citizens. The kind of outreach I've seen Promise Keepers do is community service work...usually building projects within the community. I haven't been aware of the group having any involvement in politics. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see that Promise Keepers even address other people's points of view, much less deny their validity. I mean, I haven't exactly attended a rally (being a woman :), but my husband has, and it has always come across to me that the discussions are focused on the men attending being better people. If I were not a Christian, I would *not* want to be a part of this group. It does promote Christianity. That does include men being leaders in their homes. If I were of the opinion that marriage was a 50/50 proposition, I'd definitely steer my husband *away* from Promise Keepers. I got the most classy Native American (NA) rak today...from Leona and Merlene!!!! It's done on a soft white, or very light grey..cardstock.... NA Images (from Embossing arts!!!, yes I HAVE that one myself!!!) stamped on the front.... I would have never thought to stamp it without coloring it..but it DOES look very classy in a simple way...which is nice!!!! On the inside, a banner has been stamped and cut out....and it says... "Native North American Collection ~~ A tribute to the people that inhabited our land centuries before the settlers arrived. Artist Brent Burkett, Hand Stamped by Stamping Friends, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario." Thank you very much Leona and Merlene....I love it!! also you enclosed your business card..so when do I get a copy of your rs images for sale??????hmmmmmm???? If you have NA designs, I'm interested. :-) Ohh and I wanted to ask.... is Brent Burkett the one who drew the image you used on the front, from Embossing Arts???
