One, on a cream heavy paper, has a beautiful white mulberry type paper on top of which are several corrugated gold "ribbons. On that is a wonderful little angel. I don't know how you did the angel, but she's really lovely. The word peace is embossed in gold on the bottom left of the card. Lovely. The second card is of white card stock with a navy cardstock layered on it. It is cut with the victorian scissors. Two silver bells are layered onto it. I don't know how you did the bells, but they look similar to the angel on the other card. I love the look. Silver stars and the saying "peace joy love" are embossed in silver. Stunning! I always make at least an extra copy (with swaps I'm making multiples anyway) and keep one for my brag binder. Not only is it wonderful to not have to part with all the cards, but this is useful for a. seeing just how much I've progressed b. remembering what the card looked like and what I used in case someone writes with a question.....like "where did you get that paper?" and c. the brag factor. Well, kinda education, too. I mean someone says "What do you do with all those rubber stamps?" and I show them! But there is something really validating about a portfolio like this, you know? Come to think of it, though, I do have art journals that I stamp and collage and these I keep because they're mainly for me and also tend to be one of a kinds--in that I'll only have one of the collaged items. But sometimes these, too, turn into swap cards if it's possible. Anyway, after all this rambling, my main point is I think sending stuff out is good (not to mention fun). I learn a lot that way...and actually I wouldn't get as much done if I didn't have swaps and the like to motivate me. But I think it's also good to keep some art for yourself. Hey, Bobbie! Thanks for the card. I loved it! I am very busy between work, planning the memorial for Dad (on Sunday, 10-12-97) and trying to relax and deal with high blood pressure. I have had some pretty nasty episodes....passed out 2x at work!! I'm seeing the Dr and now we are checking out hormonal reasons....have to do a 24 hour urine collection tomorrwo to test for a tumor on my adrenal gland. EKG is fine. I hate the symptoms I am having....hard pulse, headaches, face feels flushed, although it is not, tingly lips, pressure in face. Nasty feelings! A part of this is stress related. DUH!! Like I don't have stress!! Can you tell me how Toni is? I am sooo worried about her! I don't think she tells me how she is *really* feeling! How is Randy?? How are YOU?? Love & Angel Blessings, InkyAngel (Dorothy Little) I believe there are Angels among us.... What she did was take large boxes measuring about 17 inches long, 11 inches high and 9 inches deep and stamped all over it. The box is a great light wood tone with clouds, symbols, people, and upside down feet on it. The box also contains 6 drawers in which I have placed my watch collection, jewelry, Sandy Lemon's soaps and other odds and ends. It looks really great sitting on my dresser in my pine bedroom and smells good to boot. The Alternative Art Fest was great. Lots of people, booths, new toys, papers, artwork, postoids and friends from both on and off the list. I enjoyed meeting everyone and loved running into old friends. Then there was Toybox. Obviously too busy to talk to me, even after the show was over. Wouldn't come to our store and essentially didn't feel I was important enough of a customer to take a few moments to clear up the misunderstanding. I am going to write them a letter - my last attempt at making this relationship work. If that doesn't work - so be it. When Stamper's Garden becomes famous and he wants to all of a sudden start supplying our store - fat chance bud. I took three classes at artfest - carving rubber stamps, marbling paper and binding books. Had a great time in each of them. the classes weren't over crowded or too long. Just right. Can't wait to see what they come up with next year. This artfest gets better and better every year. ____________________________________________________ Hood Enterprises 1602 - 22nd Street NE Auburn WA 98002-3437 VISA - MasterCard - Discover - American Express Telephone: (253) 939-9349 Fax: (253) 804-9377 email: jutta@wolfenet.com Web Site: http://www.wolfenet.com/~jutta _____________________________________________________ This message was from Jutta Hood - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
