First Timothy's because he gave up his big rm because soon he will have 2 sisters and they will have that room. His rm. is stamped Noah's ark-ish and I even oil painted a Noah's ark right on the wall....I do wish I would have used something besides oil. It will not be fun when I want to cover it ! And the girls room is Mary Englebreit-ish. I *finally* found some back and white check wallpaper border for the girls rm. and at the store I found 2 clear swichplates, decorplates? tm. So I stamped an ark on white cardstock and colored it and cut it and it's in Timothy's rm. For the girls I stamped a ME image and did the same. These clear covers are designed for wallpaper but you could put whatever you want under them. I thought they were kewl for stamping. I even think they'd be great in an SS box. I haven't used hardly any real Mary E. in the girls' rm. yet. There just isn't any here and I haven't ordered any off the web yet. So far I have stamped cherries and simple roses on their walls. It was a real pleasure to add their switchplate because it's actually Mary Engelbreit. The kids think its pretty neat that mom made something for them and I will do anything to avoid housework:) Ideas for these rooms are welcome!!!!!! I would just like to have everyone who thinks this list they are asking for is going to help protect them without doing anything on their own, have a problem. I for one know that I don't have perfect service, but I try very hard, and the people who have ordered and had a problem, know that I do fix the problems. Over 95% of my business is mail order, and everything goes out priority mail, I watch the list very carefully trying and figure out when to wait to ship something and when I'll take the risk to ship before I have the check. I have hundreds of dollars tied up in unpaid orders, but only one that is over a month old. It is a real risk, to mail an order before being paid, but then the check may be bad, so how long do you wait before you send the order out. I do busines with companies that have to have the check for 10 days before they will start on your order, even if you have order from them many times before. This is not the first list, I have summitted the information about my company to at least a half dozen people that were making lists, and on this last vendor list not one comment good or bad about my service was included. I feel that any list that has comments about service, the owner of the list is at risk for legal problems. Not taking the comments that are posted to the list about good service is just as dangerous and can be very damaging to a business. Sorry, for being so long, but I think that this current vendor list, is going to cause problems for many more people than it is going to help. If you have a copy of the vendor list that is over a few weeks old, you need to ask your question on the rubber stamping list, and get current information. Depression is a chemical brain disorder that is characterized by persistent thoughts of despair, hopelessness, thoughts of suicide, changes in sleep, eating, and libido. These are more than just passing "blue" thoughts. Depression is a serious debilitating disease, that can be diagnosed and treated with modern, safe, effective drugs. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar I disorder, which is another of the mood disorders, arising from an imbalance in the chemicals which stabilize the mood. Those with this disease experience periods of both depression and a disruptive elevated mood called "mania". The three kinds of Bipolar disorder are all very disruptive, and a high rate of completed suicide is associated with this diagnosis. Those with this disease are also at risk for using drugs and alcohol. The Bipolar disorders can all be successfully treated with modern, safe drugs. Call your local mental health association for more information. If you have recurrent thoughts of committing suicide, please tell your doctor. You aren't crazy. You don't need to suffer. Perhaps I can be of some help here. No one "owns" the Vendor list. Vicky is working on the list and will send a copy to anyone who requests one. It is very long and she chose not to send it to the list since some may not be able to receive so much mail. If you want the list PLEASE write to Vicky. I'm not sure she wants the list sent out without her doing it. She is still getting changes to it and needs time to get that done. Currently she is having server problems (I don't quite understand them) and will be back here as soon as she possibly can. Please wait until you ask her before you send to the list. Weilert) Subject: RS: TAN: One of those lives! & card request My best friend and buddy Denise (QVC4me@aol.com) has had more than her share of junk in her life this week. Saturday her car was rear-ended, with the whole family in it (she just got it out of the shop from her last accident!). Then the patrolman hauls her husband off to jail for stuff SOMEONE ELSE did using his name. Through our various connections she & I managed to get him released later that day and went on to have a lovely time bowling & eating mexican. So as if that's not enough (remember, we're talking three days ago), yesterday she gets sick, as in seriously sick. She thought she had serious food poisoning. I talked to her today and she mentioned pain in her gut that moved to her hip (duh, did I catch any warning signs? No). A couple hours later I walk in the door, phone rings, it's Denise saying please take me to the hospital. Having NO insurance, I knew she had to be seriously hurting. On the way she told me she was so sick she hadn't even looked at her last order of stamps I had brought her yesterday, and a QVC package was still sitting unopened in her living room; I knew she was in trouble then! That was at 3PM. It's now 10:30PM, she has just come out of surgery; her appendix had ruptured. I have her kids and will be caring for them for the next couple days when their dad has to work, and tonight. I'm so glad I'm starting to feel better after my surgery two weeks ago, to be able to be there for her. Okay, the card request -- I'm sure Denise would love any and all cards you would send her way. She is subbed on again off again (and right now), but loves swaps & new ideas, plus Boyd's bears and Mary Engelbreit. Please send cards to Denise Straws c/o Meridee Weilert 2016 151st ST E Tacoma, WA 98445 Or drop her an e-mail; I can check her box for her & print them up (she trusts me that much; at the hospital she told the doctor I was her sister so I could stay). Thanks everyone! Don't ya love hearing about the lives of others; puts your own back in perspective! Daisies, Meridee merideestamps@juno.com I sell Stamping Sensations, HALOS, and PSX! Just thought I'd repost and see if I get a few more responses this time around. TIA for your help. Jessica ---------- From: Yap, Jessica To: Rubberstampers Subject: RS: Scrapbooking questions Date: Thursday, 9 October 1997 10:55AM Priority: High Dear all, I wasn't quite sure if I should have treated this as a TAN, so I apologise if this does not fall under the strict RS subject line. In any case, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with some scrapbooking questions. I'm planning to do my first scrapbook but I can't seem to find supplies easily as scrapbooking is not as big here in Australia as it is in the US. What are some of the tools I would need? I managed to get an acid free album (very expensive) but it is not the refillable type, so I have to be careful that I don't make mistakes. It's also got black pages. How do you go about planning your layout in this situation? I know I can use pigment pads to stamp - can I emboss as well? Is it safe for me to use Rollatag and Tombow glue pens? Lastly, can you recommend a reliable list vendor who carries scrapbook supplies, takes credit card and is willing to ship to Australia? If there are any Aussies/Kiwis on the list who does scrapbooking, I'd love to hear where you get your supplies. I know that's quite a lot of questions, but I have faith that you'll come through for me! Thanks a lot :-) Rubberhugs, Jessica Lingam This message was from "Yap, Jessica" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I have left ink on them overnight if I'm in the middle of a project, but otherwise they get cleaned right away. That's why I asked how to clean a brayer. Mine has turned this shade of blue. I'd rather have the original color. That's why I haven't used any permanent ink yet. I don't want to mess up my stamps. Oh well, I keep the baby wipe people in business.
