Then I ripped them all off their mounts and re-mounted them using HALOS on some and Static Vinyl on others. Pretty much used whatever I happen to have. Out of respect for Sheryl, I only use HALOS on the stamps I get from her. Seems odd to think on mounting her stamps with anything else! VBG. I store my stamps on cardstock in file folders. The folders are labeled according to theme. The only exception to this is that if I buy a plate of ruber from a company, I label the folder with the theme, company name and plate number. I have all the cardstock pages paper-punched with 3 holes in them so I can put them into a binder when I am going to stamp somewhere other than at home. I love collecting cookie tins of all sizes. I keep my embellishments sorted and stored in separate tins. Some of the things I store in the tins are: glitters, foiling supplies, confetti packets, trims of all kinds, markers, pencils, dry emboss brass stencils, etc. I have a Caboodle that I use for my small Colorbox ink pads (Cat-eye type), glue stick, Fiskar's paper edgers, scissors, small paper crimper, paper folding tool, dry emboss stylus, double-stick foam tape. I have a small cabinet with 10 drawers stacked on each other. The drawers are just about 10" x 10" and 2" deep. I use this to store large ink pads, embossing powders, penscore, clear envelopes, rollagraph-type stamps, brayers, and any other supplies I may have. The stamps that I still have on wood mounts are mainly the stamps that I either use alot (signature stamp, etc.) or are the stamps I use at the store where I teach. These are kept on a shelf on an acrylic box-type frame. I removed the cardboard insert from the frame and use the acrylic box part as a tray. Since I don't have very many of the wood mounted stamps, this doesn't take up much room. One of the storage items I like the best is a roll-away kitchen cart. I have 2 of them. One has 3 shelves, the other has 4 small shelves. The shelves are made of plastic voated wire. I use these carts for storing the tins, my packages of cardstock, Wall paper sample books, white tile board (like a dry-erase board), and any other large items that don't fit in the cabinets or tins. Nice thing is these carts fit under the high work counter I stamp at. So I can keep them out of the way when I don't need them. My storage methods may be changing soon. We are moving into a house 2 miles down the road in either late December or early January. I will no longer have a stamping room. I will be sharing a office/ stamping room with my hubby. But for now, this has been working great. Hope there are a few ideas someone can use. I received two stamps from Danielle Cote. All the way from Canada. The stamps are great. I loved the box you sent them in. Pretty darn creative! It was a toothpaste box. I don't think my mailman knows what to expect next! He is not use to all this creativeness. Then besides the stamps, I was RAK'd by Olivia Givens, Christine Hulseberg, Carole Mork, and Diane White. The cards were great. So creative. On Diane's card she stamped the cutest bear on wall paper. The wall paper looks almost like it is flocked. Neat idea. Carole sent a cute Happy Thanksgiving card. A nice bright orange card layered with black, green, white, and had pumpkin confetti on it. Plus she sent all kinds of stamped papers that are colored, embossed and just waiting for me to use them on my own cards. What kind of glue are you using on the pumpkins? Christine sent a wonderful card that is a fall scene. The background of the card is all stamped in leaves, rust and brown. Then she layered it with a deckle edge tanish cardstock with the neatest leaves glued in the upper corners in a bright orange, yellow and rust. I love the leaves. Is that a die cut? I want one!! Plus she sent me extra leaves that are just waiting to be used. Olivia sent me a large side card that that has stars stamped in multiple colors, girls dancing stamped in multiple colors plus the cutest little string bow and confetti glued on the card plus lots of extras for me in the envelope. I love the clear envelopes you guys used. I have never seen them before. Where do you get them? Thanks to all of you. You really made my day as I was not having a good one. One of the people that I work with died at 7 a.m. this morning and she was only 40 and is leaving behind a wonderful husband and 9 year old son. I still love so many of the PSX and HA stamps, and I would buy them if they had a decent angel policy, but they don't. Has anyone else experienced this shift in buying? At least ANM has taken the plunge to allow us to use their images. It's not as if we'd ever be selling huge amounts of one type of card, and most of us seem to sell them for charity. What's your opinion and how can we get the big companies to change their ideas? It's about time they took a little notice of their customers. Love, Megan aka Ribbon Stamper PS I posted this about 5 hours ago, but it still hasn't shown up, so I'm trying again! :) This message was from "Megan Boundey" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Due Nov. 1 I partipated in the 5-Hour Swap---and was *THRILLED* with the results. I asked Nancy if she was going to host another one--but she replied that she is booked up with swaps until after the 1st of the year......and indicated that I could host a similiar swap. So..since I can't wait any longer........I propose a "WOW!" swap.....because that's what I said as I took out every card from the 5-hour swap..... Any theme -- no card can be too detailed or over-decorated. Each card must take at *least* an hour to make. Come on in! Name of Swap: "WOW" Swap Format: Cards, Postcards, frames, projects, etc. Description: Cards must take 5-25 hours (to complete the set) and must include at least one gratuitous gewgaw, bauble or charm. (need to spend at least on hour on each card!) Hosted By: Deni Johnson Email: denij@athenet.net Items Info: 5 for 5---if you send an extra for me--I'll include a "Jumping Jack Flash" card and pattern to you--it's a GREAT pop-up for all occasions--I learned it from a Judi-Kins rep at a class last spring. There is one featured in the New Rubber Stamper Magazine. Due Date: Postmarked Nov. 1 Mailing Info: Nancy had said that the postage cost was over what she had anticipated--and I don't want to go broke mailing these back! Please send $3 to cover priority mailing back to you (The package I got back cost $3 and was huge). I suggest you use a LARGE padded mailer to send--and then I'll send it back to you in the same mailer--nice and secure--please include an address label for return mail. All~ VERY IMPORTANT: If you are on the previous list that says you are coming to the convention, this is DIFFERENT than that list. To make reservations for Saturday's get together, your name will need to be on the NEW list. OK, here's the plan. (Thank you Evo!) Those of you wanting to meet at 5:30 on Saturday evening for dinner or appetizers (the convention is over at 5) please e-mail me personally to make sure I get you down to add you to the list. I need to know exactly (-ish) how many are coming so I can make the reservation. I will be making the reservation on Wednesday. The Stamp The Night Away starts at 7 for those of you who are planning on attending that as well. This way everyone can have the opportunity to join in both places. I will send one or two more reminders out before Wednesday for those who are unsubbed. Please put my name in the subject line so I don't miss your post. Thanks! Melissa - -- Melissa C.
