For those waiting for my shipment of Mrs. Grossmans stickers, they have not yet arrived. They should be here soon as I recall them telling me it wouldnt be in time for V.D. I will call them Mon. if it doesnt arrive by then and keep everyone who ordered posted. Just a little note to let everyone know that we have been bitten by the Scrapbook bug! We have got some of the shipments of scrapbook supplies in and more is on the way. The Frances Meyer stuff is really fun to work with and a great starting point for someone who is getting started and hasnt purchased lots of stuff. This gives you everything you need (stickers, die cuts, backgroung sheets and cardstock) as well as ideas and for 6 sheets. I played with the Splish - Splash set and the Graduation set for samples and they were really fun! More stuff for scrapbooks will be Brush-n-scroll pens (acid free and lightfast), red eye pens, die cuts, more templetes, more acid free paperes, more how to books, ph balanced tapes, etc. Crop till you drop nites will be held at the store. Feel free to come in and use at no charge, all the punches, scissors, stencils to crop you pics! Classes will also be offered on an on-going basis, pay as you go, every 2 weeks. In April we will have 3 - ring binders that are basically crack-n-peel! These were at HIA and were really fun and easy. You can personalize you binders with fabric or other material for the cover. The 3 ring portion just screws in. A beautifully finished product with no adhesives. Also played with the photo tints from Delta and they too worked well. We also have the book of ideas for photo tinting. Another product (not really new) that we have on its way is the acrylics with interference. There are 5 colors and they work to give you the effect of the gouache. I have personnally used Goldens which I really liked but as of this time cant seem to find a supplier. The brand I will have is Liquidtex and from what Ive seen, works the same. More chaulks and metalic rub-on are soon to be in. The Faux finishes that are being done with the rub ons are really beautiful. Rangers new tinsel ep are in and almost gone but more should be in by Thur. or Fri. These are so rich and stunning when done over black ink. (PSX is also selling some of theses powders-see samples in their new catalog) Oh by the way the votes have been cast and tomorrow Ill post the winners of the Anniversary contest. If anyone on the list was picked as one of the top 3 you'll be recv. your thank you gift in the next week. All the swaps have been sent out, both the Anniv. and V.D. swap. Thank you to all! I won't be returning anybody's cards because they "aren't good enough". We're all new at stamping and have lots to learn from each other. Please don't let the fear of not being good enough stop you from joining. The cards I've gotten so far range from a single stamped image to others that are more detailed. I have only completed two swaps so far, but the cards from those two swaps have given me ideas to be able to join many others. Anyway, just to say that all are welcome to join the Newbie Swap. I am planning to have an afterconvention dinner get together at my house on Saturday, 2/22 after the convention. We will have a chip in pizza dinner, talk and show off what treasures we have gotten. There can even be some stamping going on (not too late coz some of us are going back to do it all again on Sunday). If any of you are planning to come - I live in Mtn View, about 20 +/- miles from the convention center - please RSVP. It will be fun and a chance to get to know other list people. Pass the word to other vendors who might want to come and meet everyone also. For directions and to RSVP you can email me here at work or at home at Liblaauw@earthlink.net. ------------------------------ From: perlis Date: Tue, 18 Feb 1997 15:25:42 -0800 Subject: Re: TAN: My puppy needs a name! I just don't know what else to do. I was only able to read a quote from Lady Roslyn that everyone is talking about. I tried to e-mail her, but according to AOL she has deleted my letter without reading it. Lady Roslyn participated in my Valentines Day swap. I am certain that I had posted that my swaps welcome all levels of stampers. I want the the newbies and oldies to learn from each other, make friends, learn new techniques, etc. Perhaps she did not receive the posting that I ALWAYS welcome all levels!! I received a letter (Not from Lady R) from another stamper who hated the cards she received in the swap. I apologized to her and offered to send back her money -- She won't return my mail, and won't accept my apology. Lady Roslyn never said anything about my swap, but I feel perhaps it is my swap cards she was unhappy with. I don't know this for a fact, as she won't answer my letter to her. Anyway, Lady Roslyn, I hope you can accept my apology that you might have been disappointed in my swap. I worked verrrrrrry hard (as all hosts do) to make this special for everyone. I constantly e-mailed newbies (some of the best people around) and walked them through the steps of a swap. I paired up some newbies with mentors who have now become very good e-mail pals. I am sorry if you were disappointed in the cards you have received in a swap (perhaps mine). I host swaps to have fun, make friends, see how others use the theme in their wrok, etc. I do NOT do it to see what I will get back in return. I welcome ALL levels of stampers gratefully. I'm always thrilled that anyone would like to make cards from a theme I have suggested. TO ALL POTENTIAL SWAPPERS OUT THERE, please know you are all lovingly welcome in any of the swaps I host!! I hope you all will start joining and hosting swaps. It is the absolute best way for you to learn new ideas, and make new friends!! Hi everyone!!! I've missed the list so much that I can hardly bear to be away :-( The font problem seems to be fixed more or less but I've got some "real life" stuff going on and can't do the full-time list for another day or two. Nothing overly serious, just extremely time consuming! (Daughter got head lice from school but we didn't realize until today that's what it is so lots of washing, disinfecting, killing bugs.... plus PTA stuff, plus car stuff...) Just a note on the Printworks order - Printworks didn't want quite such a large order from a new (to them) vendor so I had to divide it up. Don't worry, everyone's stuff will get here eventually but it is slowing things down a little. Hope they hurry - I want to play with my toys and I'm sure y'all do too! If anyone needs to get a hold of me go ahead and e-mail me, I won't be subbed until Wednesday or so but will check on the old mail box anyway. (It's a very empty mailbox without the whole list!)
