Oh, okay, found it....(seriously, I did have to look. It was way back behind the desk.) Anyway, on to the cards.... Brenda Volpe stamped an image of an angel riding on a bird, holding what looks like a tea cup of candles up to the sun. Anyway, this is stamped in blue-green rainbow hues on white cardstock, cut out with Fiskars, then layered over some cool brown and blue textured paper and then onto a white card stamped with stars, hearts, etc. also in greens/blues. Very Spring-ish. Patty Sulcs's card is brown, has a rectangle of white with brown flecked paper and then over this white cardstock, scallop-edged, with a peace pipe stamped in brown and Peace stamped above it in purple. Lovely. Connie Koch's card uses the "cosmos" image...a woman gazing out at planets. This is embossed and colored in really rich, almost metallic colors, layered over small squares of purple and blue mulberry paper, then on to a textured white card. Very sophisticated. Melanie Allen's card has a stamped key with tassel, colored in, again, very metallic colors (also embossed in black) on a gray card, layered over a light blue edged card, and then onto a darker gray card. Great use of colors and layering. Paula Sigman Lowery's card....wow! How am I going to describe this? Okay, the background is dark and stamped repeatedly with Acey Deucy-ish images, spirals, etc. in gold and also dark colors. Then she's drawn an outline border in gold. Layered over this is an image of an angel with an open book...stamped on kind of a marbled paper. Great torn edge. Also at the top left hand corner, she's glued on a gold sun confetti. This card is exquisite...I can't describe it well enough, but it really is exquisite. Thanks again to Deni for hosting this! One reason is that it's expensive to buy ink AND ep in matching colours - cheaper just to buy the ink. This works especially well if you want a clear vivid image - something that can be harder to get using coloured ep over clear or black ink. Also clear ep is much more user friendly - if you leave a few stray grains of ep on the card before you heat emboss, no one will ever know! Not so with coloured eps :( >and > >can you buy pearl like embossing powder ( i tried to heart my glitter >before i realised)LOL I use PSX Silver Pearl a lot too. Used over vivid coloured inks, it gives a pastel effect. Not sure if this is waht you are looking for. There are quite a few other pearlised eps around too I think. It was a nice sized event for a newbie like myself. So many things to see, I wanted to buy everthing. Why oh, why couldn't I have won the lottery before going to the show? I finally got to see sample shaker and window cards, how shrink plastic works, what a stamp positioner is good for, and that I really need to buy an embossing gun. Stampers must be normally cheerful, I spoke with plenty of friendly people over UM bins. (And some mentioned "the rubber pit" but I was too untutored to find the secret door to it. <>) The most popular booth had to be STAMPS BY JUDITH. It had huge displays, lighting and samples. They were demonstrating liquid Crystal Laquer and the tiny, wood stick mounted stamps of the tiny hearts and flowers and christmas things. An intresting offering they had was "green sheets" for 25 cents that were how-to's of the displayed samples. STAMP CABANA was another high traffic area. Naturally, so was JUDI*KINS with all the stamp cubes and embossing tools and templates. A booth that had me do a double take was DR. U'S RUBBER REMEDIES. They had their demonstrators dress in white lab coats. And I'm not sure this was the norm or all the conventions, but I got a chuckle after all the list memebers say this hobby is thearpy in disguise. After taking a spin around the room, I hit the unmounted bins. AUNTIE AMY STAMPS! had some cats I had to have and CURTIS UYEDA's clear-cut, modern oriential designs had me wishing I could buy them all. Saddly, even buying UM's exhausted my funds quickly. I was determined to not hit the cash machine in the lobby, though some cat stamps at Stamps by Judith had me sorely tempted. But my emphasis for this convention was on UM's and they were not promoting them there. The most vocal demonstrator had to be the shop keeper for RAGGED EDGE PRESS. He rang this chime and demanded (and surely, I think that he's taken lessons from some list members-- the language he used ;->>) that passers-by stop and have him demonstrate his exclusive blank postal 'kill-bar' to make custom 'kill-bar.' He made it sound like he invented post-it note masking. :-D He brought his guitar along for the kids at the show to sing along with. And I must report for the benefit of Mr. Evo that I got to see EVO, DENNIS and their Chicago area helper MELISSA at EVOLVING IMAGES' booth. They had set up lovely samples on their back wall. Evo greeted everyone with a big hug and, to my astonishment, has such a memory of who sent cards for Mr. Evo's birthday! She is one graciously welcoming lady! Also, HALOS was being put through their paces and a lot of tough questions by convention goers. But the quality of the system sold me and I bought the system from Evo. Well, that will just about wrap it up. It will be too long before another comes to town. At the dance tonight we were talking about building snowman. The problem is we couldn't agree on how to make one. Some said that you had to roll 3 balls of snow for a snowman 2 the same size and a smaller one for the head. and others said you to use only 2 a large one for the body and a smaller one for the head. I figure with all the snow in CO I would get some good anwsers. It was a great card for the harvest season , a bunch of corn ( or wheat ) stalks, pumpkins, a great saying & some neat postoids all colored neatly!! Couldn't have been a better day , was told by a " friend " or so I thought for other "friends " that they want me to be like I was a year ago . They seem to forget I've had 2 foot surgerys < now have permanent nerve damage < am living on about 10 different pills for pain , & the doctors still don't know why or if I'll get better. That plus I'm a hairstylist & have not missed a day of work except 2wks for the surgeries, instead of giving up & going on disability, let them walk on my feet & see if they can do better!! I'd love to be like I was 1 yr ago before all of this started but It's hurry up & wait in the medical world. Believe me I know other people are in alot worse health then I am but I 'm running out of steam .. Thanks for the shoulders!!!! Hi, There were 2 people who offered to help me when some people did not carry through on the first scav hunt. I had ended up with 3 people who did not receive anything so I took one, and the two who offered to send an angel package each were sent a name and they told me they would send out some thing to the person who's name I mailed them Well as of yet, the two people waiting for angel pacakges still have received NOTHING from etiher the person who originallly had their name OR the person who offered to send them an angel package. Did you ladies just forget or did you change your minds or what? It is bad enough when someone signs up for a hunt and does not carry through, but you two knew what you were offering when you contacted me and neither of you carried through either. What am I to think? If you did not want to help, you never should have offered. If you are still willing to send out the package you offered, please contact me again.
