Well shoot, here's my oldish opinion: You do three of them. One big one, one medium sized one, and one small one. You stack them biggest on the bottom, middle sized one in the middle, smallest one on the top for the head. Of course, as artists, we should probably be able to overlook any "snowman guidelines" and slap them together whatever way we want them! Warhol woulda put the head on the bottom, Picasso woulda flattened the head all out and put both the eyes on one side of the head. Da Vinci woulda made one who looked like that tramp Mona. Christo woulda made a million of them and then wrapped them all in neon pink cellophane. So, really, I guess I'd say you should all go out there and may your snowmen however the heck you want. Too much other good stuff in the world to disagree about, yes? Mine will be larger than life, and will have wings, ready to fly when pushed. Yesterday we get a knock on the door, and Missy, my 4 year old runs to answer it. It's a guy selling magazines. His hair was styled such that he had about 10 - foot long spikes coming out from his head in all directions. Quite scary, I must admit. I had to laugh when my daughter blurted out with great emphasis, "MOMMY!!! THAT GUY HAS MEAN HAIR!!!" I'm definitely writin' this one down! We always rolled 3, and patted more on each one to make it the fat round self that they turned out. Then rub around the snow balls, making them round, and smooth. That also helps melt the snow and amkes it pack tighter. If it is light and fluffy snow, forget it. It has to be a wet snow. You can't use the dry.. I wanna help.. I love and miss snow.. I look over to the other sleeve and it was a little wrinkled but it was kind of to the back of the sleeve - I ironed my arm!!! I still have the red blotch!!!< Oh, jeez, Fran. That must have hurt. I ironed my foot while in college. Yep. I needed to press a scarf and something else, but it wasn't enough to set up the ironing board in the limited space I had. So I sat on the bed to iron. Finished one item, set the iron on its butt, and turned to reach for the other item, and the motion caused the iron to fall over, since it was sitting on the bed with me. It fell on my foot, and I STILL have a slight scar where you can see the steam vent pattern!!! To top it off, I was running late for class, so I put some cream or something on the burn, put on PANTYHOSE and boots and off I went. The pantyhose had to be cut and soaked off that evening. Ouch. I have gotten smarter but not more graceful since those days. jhone "Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done, and why. Then do it." I figure that anyone that desires to go out in the cold to build a snowman should be able to build theirs anyway they want. A snowman always brings a smile to my face when driving and seeing them in yards. Snow sculpture is a big thing some places. I remember seeing pictures of dragons, sand castle type buildings and upright bears. So far today the snow has not reached the greater Kansas City area. I hope it waits until late afternoon as we have a painting day planned. My daughter went to visit her brother in Ft. Collins and is supposed to come back today - ??????
