One person suggested that as the owners of the house, we have the right to know when they (the renters) are moving out of the house. Well, this is hard for us. The renters are old friends of my Father-in-law. The wife was my FIL's dental assistant for the last 25 yrs. My FIL had let them live in the house as a favor because the couple's daughter, her husband & 5 kids had moved into the couple's house when the daughter's family was having financial problems. This situation soon had the couple going nuts. Going from a household of 2 to a household of 9 overnight! So they moved out of their own house and moved into this other house 2 yrs. ago. Hoping their daughter & son-in-law would only stay until they got back on their feet financially. Well, after my FIL died last spring, the couple told their kids to be out by the end of this year. The kids have just recently started looking for a place and put in an application to rent a home. They will know in mid-November if they get the house. The landlord is in the process right now or repainting the house inside & outside. The couple said that they want us to have Christmas in our "new" home and are planning on moving out about the 1st week of December. So we are just going to put off any decorating until after the move. Even if they are abit later than that on actually moving out, we know now that we will be in the house by Christmas. Which is alot more than we knew before. Thanks for giving me the nudge to pin them down on a date for their moving. This is all new to us. We have lived next door to my in-laws for 15 yrs. now (ever since we were married). It is really going to be strange being in the new house. The new house is only 2 miles from here, so we will be close enough to keep an eye on my MIL who is 83 yrs. old now. But we will have no family on the same property as us for the very first time. My hubby keeps teasing me that I'll feel at home as soon as my stamping stuff is unpacked & put away. Oh well. Sorry to ramble on & on. How strange. Just moments ago, I went to print something and my printer was dead. Like shut off. When I went to switch it on, it was on. But all the lights were out and the message on the screen said it was off. Well, I giggled wires, plugged and unplugged. Nothing. It worked fine a little while ago. So I didn't know what to do. Can't afford to have my printer die right now. Can't afford a new one. I just shut everything down. Did a cold reboot, and it's fine now. Strange things are happening aren't they? You couldn't have timed it better. ... Our daughter Cindy (she's one now) grabbed a hold of the wood stove flue to pull herself up right. She has second & third degree burns on the palm of her hand. She may have some scarring but it will hardly show. Poor thing! She thinks she's a little boy I swear. Little miss into everything & she's fast VERY fast! It was a difficult lesson to learn (more for me then her). She didn't cry out when she did it she just sat down and clenched her little hand. I had to pry it open to see if she had actually done what I expected. Sure enough blisters started immediately. We have a great Doc (the benifit of a small town) He had us in within 15min of the accident! Now that's service!! She's doing fine now and her mommie has a smile thanks to your thoughtful packages! Thank you for all the goodies. I can't wait to sit down and play with the beadz. I havn't used them yet. I just dont dare with my little monkey awake. Not after this week. Talk about FRUSTRATING!!! I only hope I haven't lost any messages. We also just acquired another company and have been extremely bogged down logging all that inventory in and settling all the details. To top it all off, we still had the Halloween party here. (( BTW It DOES get better...eventually they move out!!!!!!!!)) When Helen left her toys lying all about...in pieces and parts, I told her she had to have the room all tidy before bedtime 2 days later and anything that wasn't put away properly would be confiscated. I did this with clothing in her room, too. A couple of times I had to go in there with trash bags and cleared out everything that wasn't put away. It worked great. The first time I did this with toys she must have thought I'd never do it....I did. She found out that if she kept the room tidy, and cleaned it up when she was told to she got to keep her toys. I hacd to confiscate clothing, too. Just told me she had waaaay more than enough! Twice a year I used to go through her playroom (before her November Birthday and in late spring). I'd get rid of anything she didn't play with, anything in parts (headless Barbie's included!!), broken stuff, Happy Meal junk, etc. Out it went! It taught her that she needs to value the things she has. I was very poor and it broke my heart to throw away things I'd saved for, but I learned to but more wisely for her, too. Helen did not enjoy this...neither did ~I~! But it was good. Eventually she got the idea and she would actually help. Somethings she found she really wanted and had forgotten she had...if she could calmly convince me to let her keep it I let her. If she still didn't play with it I tossed it later. Sometimes she would develop a renewed interest in something. At any rate, it worked for me. We got 12 inches last night here in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Lots of trees and power lines down here also. Some places in Omaha (just across the river) won't have power until Tuesday at the earliest. We were lucky though. No damage at all, just lots and lots of snow:) But because of the snow, I got to play nurse maid to a little wren this morning. I happened to look out on our back porch (we live on the second floor) and out on the deck in the corner shivering was a little wren. Poor thing must have been frozen. I went over to pick him up and he didn't budge. I brought him in and held him for a little bit (he was sooo cold). I got a box and an old rag and kind of made a little nest and put him back out on the porch. He hopped out of the box back into the corner and started shivering again. Well, I couldn't leave him out there, so I brought him inside again, held him for a little bit and then put him back in the box. About an hour and a half later he was finally dried off and warm, and decided he was ready to leave and started flying about my house. Boy was that fun!! We finally caught up with him and took him back outside!! Oh yeah, we did take the little ones out into the snow to make snow angels and a snowman (made with 3 balls) Stephanie This message was from stephaniemanifold@juno.com - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I've been having a ball making these all afternoon. Some wanted the url but when I manually put it in my server can't seem to find it. So I went to this post and clicked on it and off I went. Believe me this is a great template that you'll want to add to your collection of goodies.
