It's another case of man taking what he wants and not thinking about anything beyond his own selfishness. I, for one, will not be contributing to this trend. There are a great many insects on the Endangered Species list, with many butterflies particularly in trouble. We don't need dead things in our stamps -- doesn't make them stamp any better. Wouldn't they look better brightening our environment rather than sprucing up our craft rooms? Just venting. Lots of good news here! Non Sequitur will have the following specials for the month of March only: 1. First of all, the sale coupon for 25% off on mounted stamps and 10% off on unmounteds is hereby extended through the month of March, even if the date says it has expired. This because a lot of people grumbled about not being able to take advantage of the sale in January --too close to Christmas. 2. Buy one A stamp... get the SECOND one FREE. 3. Buy one B stamp... get the second one FREE. 4. Unmounteds will be 25% Off. :) :) :) Sale ends last day of March! Remember we now take Visa or Mastercard. My personal favorite is the chocolate-mint, but the orange-chocolate is good and there's chocolate-rum, chocolate-raspberry, mocha, chocolate- malt (which sounds terrific but I haven't tried 'em yet). They come in an octagon-shaped box and are particulary handy as gifts when you can't think of anything else (and, lord, they have chocolate in them, so they are the perfect gift anyway!!!). Send me your snail mail, Lisa, and tell me what kind you want and I will mail you a box of 'em, cause nobody should go thru life without trying these things. What a response! For most of the participants, this is their first swap. So, if you have *never* participated in a swap, now is the time! You can still join. Here is the info: NAME OF SWAP: NEWBIE SWAP THEME: anything you'd like to do; open to all newbies ("newbie" open to your own definition) DETAILS: send 5, get 5 back; send 10, get 10 back, etc. Mail to: Lori Clemmons 18760 Newsom Cupertino, CA 95014 Include self-addressed mailing label and whatever amount it cost you to mail it to me (in cash or stamps) DUE DATE: April 10 (a number of people requested the later date) Since this is the first swap for so many, here's what you do: Decide on the card you want to do (the hard part!). Usually people send all the same card, but if you want, you can send 5 different cards. Make 5, or 10, or 15 cards (the fun part!). You can actually send as many cards as there are participants and you will get as many cards back. I will keep the list updated every couple of weeks so you will know how many people are participating. People can join any time. You can generally make the cards on a quarter sheet of paper instead of using a half sheet and folding it. This saves paper and postage expense, as well as makes storage easier. No need to include a seperate envelope with each of your cards unless you want to. After you finish your cards, on the back write your name, email address, and the credits for your work (who made the stamp, embossing powders, etc.). Pack the cards in a ziplock plastic bag to prevent water damage. Email me when you put your cards in the mail so that I can know to expect them and they don't get lost in the mail. If you are unable to send cards or they will be a few days late, contact me to let me know. If all the cards come in on time, I will have them back out to you within about a week.
