But hasn't anyone ever asked you, "Wow! Where'd you get that blouse?" or "What kind of herbs did you use in this salad dressing? Could I have the recipe?" Well, in stamping it's the same thing. Not that anyone will "steal" your ideas - but part of the reason I read Stamper's Sampler, or any one of the stamping magazines is not to even do the cards featured, but to obtain the images used. I always adapt the ideas to my own stamps, but it's publicity about that stamp which drove me to order it or look for it. Yes, you're right, there don't have to be rules about stamping, but to avoid people emailing you constantly about the stamps you used that they may want to buy, it may just be easier to put the credits on the card. In fact, I believe that both RSM and Stamper's Sampler won't accept cards unless credits are given. That may be for publishing purposes, but it also helps people know which stamps from which companies work well together. I know plenty of people who WILL NOT DIVULGE that "precious information" of whose stamps they've used and where they've gotten it - heaven forbid I should own the same stamp! It just makes it a more open, sharing feeling when stamp credits are given. Just my humble opinion. Eddie is a wonderful husband and father. And I love him dearly. But, He Collects Junk, Completly Worthless Garbage. We have a very small house and not only is our basement full of worthless garbage so is our garage, yard, cars, and our tiny house. I am at my wits end with this. He insisted on putting up this oversized train platform for the Christmas Tree and never put up the train until February 18th, I got rid of the Christmas tree. But, he won't take the platform down and out of the house. He objects to me getting rid of the childrens excess toys. What a super collection of stamping. pwatson - a BEAUTIFUL purple butterfly on a lily colored yellow and orange embossed in black on the Vellum. This was mounted on top of purple butterflies that have been stamped on white cardstock. The entire card is framed in a black rough textured paper. (What is the name of this pretty paper?) A very neat card and something I'm going to have to duplicate to display in our store. Linda Sobolewaski - Linda has stamped a woman in a boat that is being tossed by the waves. Lots of blue gulls are flying around the boat. She painted the seas a prety turquoiseish () color. This is mounted on a piece of the pink cloudlike paper. Linda than put the card in one of those wonderful see through celaphane envelopes. This is really neat, Linda. Melissa Moon - A beautiful stained glass iris stamp painted in purple with a 2-tone turquoise background was stamped on the vellum. She painted a red and forest green border around the whole thing. Then she mounted the vellum on a pretty shade of purple and wrote "T hink Spring" and embossed in silver. Really a great card, Melissa. Inky Posto - a different stained glass iris (WHO MAKES THIS STAMP?) that she painted in pinks and violet, with a turquoise sky thru the glass. She painted a yellow frame around the window and mounted the whole thing on red leather look paper which had been deckle-edged. THEN, she mounted that on the front of a white folded card Below the vellum she has stamped "Happy Valentine's Day!" On the inside of the card she has stamped "Love, Joy, Hope, and Cheer Stay with you throughout the year". Under this is a pretty pink heart and under that is the stamp "Visiting You in Thought Today." This is really a super card, Inky. Dragonfolk - Beautiful butterflies embossed in black have been stamped on the front of the vellum. The butterflies have been painted with greens, yellow orange, blues, purples, and reds. The vellum has been folded over a piece of bright yellow cardstock. On the inside she has stamped "Butterflies count not months but moments, and yet have time enough." Such a pretty card!!! I love the cute SnowMail postoids that have been embossed in silver. The little boy has a bright red coat and blue cap and scarf. Suki, did you make these? On the sticker on the envelope it says lo4515,2775. This was such a fun swap and everyone's stamping is just WONDERFUL. Thank you all very much for the great cards and to you Suki for organizing it. Hi, I use my Marvy Matchables to stamp on the sticker paper. I tried using my favorite Vivid ink pads, the ink would smear easily. Nothing seems to bother the Marvys. When I used other ink, I spray it with a fixative just so my address labels don't smear. Hope this helps, Suzanne ------------------------------ From: "Angelhrt" Date: Sat, 1 Mar 1997 21:45:12 +0000 Subject: Re: TAN: Garbage Collectors Wife Needs Your Opinion Dear Mariann.. Have you ever considered sitting down with him and finding out the ONE THING both of you would really like to have...say a new TV or new furniture or whatever??? You know, maybe some of the junk could be sold at a garage sale, or to used computer places.... and the money you get for this "junk" could go into a kitty which is set aside for that one special purchase you both agree on. It's never wise to just "get rid" of something which belongs to another person, even if it IS junk.... it is still HIS junk. Nevertheless, it's still YOUR house too, and all this "junk" sitting around is not a good idea. Used toys, in good condition, sell well at garage sales. As do clothing sometimes. The outdated computer sytems may be of interest to computer repair companies....or you can advertise them in a local paper for sale. As is of course. The pinball machine still has me stumped...LOL But there must be SOME way of getting rid of that in a positive manner...where the hubby won't feel threatened that you are taking away HIS STUFF. LOL Remember....One man's junk is another man's treasure...LOL Also, along the line of doing a good deed, which ALWAYS makes people feel better inside, I am sure there are women and children's shelters that really could use those toys. Pediatrician offices, children's hospitals, etc...are always in need of toys for their young patiets to play with. Don't go up against your hubby and defy him.... not that I am saying to be submissive...God knows I am not...LOL Just "convince" him to do something else with it. IE..the idea of selling it and buying something special with the proceeds. I hope this will give you a few helpful ideas.... :-) > Date: Sat, 01 Mar 1997 22:08:18 -0500 > From: "Mariann at S.C.P. I'm at the point where it doesn't make sense for me to stay subscribed to the Genie RS list. I delete most everything. :( Tho it does make me feel like I'm giving my Internet provider a workout and making them earn their $$$. ;) Between work and family, my stamp club, boating and machine knitting hobbies my time is really at a premium now. Not to mention that when it warms up enough I'll need time to fix up the sailboat from my Dad! I think when I first signed up so much of the list and the internet experience was so new to me I just soaked it all up like a sponge, but now it's either old hat, too many tangents or old news or perhaps my taste and style has just been refined and I'm more picky..... or maybe a little bit of all of them. I'll still be around via E-mail and on the boards etc... and may poke my head in from time to time to get the scoop on Rubber Chicken's and Baggie's specials! ;) I'm discussing the Tissue Paper RR with Diane, and will keep you posted.
