Cox" Subject: RS: Anny RAK from Jaimee and Tricia Gene and I got the nicest anniversary RAKs (7 years 12/24) from Jaimee and Tricia. These are really some nice cards, you guys. In no particular order: Jaimee's card is on tan cs and has an upside down triangle of bluish-purple handmade paper layered on it. There are also some small stamps around the edges of the paper in just my colors (earth tones). Layered on the top is a couple dressed in medieval clothes and holding hands. A very romantic and pretty picture. On the inside Jaimee stamped images like the small ones on the front and then printed (in a gorgeous script - what font is that, Jaimee?) a very nice saying from Voltaire and a personal sentiment. To top all this gorgeousness off, she glued a very pretty silver rose charm on the inside. Very classy card, Jaimee. Thank you! Now Tricia's card is incredibly romantic. She layered vellum over white cs. On the vellum is stamped in silver two intertwined hearts. The hearts have roses and ribbons on them and Tricia did a great job of staying in the lines (a personal challenge) with 2 shades of pink and green. Tricia joined the vellum and the cs in a very unique (and pretty) way. She punched 2 holes through the card and then wrapped a metallic silver ribbon through it so that it looks like a bow was tied. I really liked the sentiment too, Tricia. A very romantic card for my sweetie and me! Thank you Tricia and Jaimee. Gene was quite taken with your thoughtfulness, as was I. Cheers!!! I assured her that Santa would enjoy the milk and cookies we left on the hearth, and that you, dear friend, would not drink *all* of the chocolate coffee but leave some for her Daddy. Please tell Santa we finished all the errands he asked us to run on his behalf (I have been wrapping for days, it seems). I won't keep you now; I know you have the rest of the world to visit. Thanks so much for making time for us. Don't forget my wish--health and happiness to all our stamping friends in the coming year. Where do I start.....Mail from all over the place today. Linda Edwards up there by the North Pole sent me a wonderful card and a hand-made crocheted angel. The card has a Santa and sleigh image on top of a snowy village scene embossed with white on maroon. I like the little girl ice skating, even her doggie has ice skates. The angel is a wonderful coral/peach color with white wings and trimming. It is fitted on one of those old fashioned clothes pins... plus it is an ornament. Thank you for the special gift Linda. Next is a card from the other side of the continent....from AJ. It is real sparkley AJ...She says she made 3000, well not actually made, but is sending out 3000 cards. Is that why the Canadian Post Office went on strike???? AJ has a nice background of stars with a "shiney" and striped maroon ???? I dunno, it is too thick to be paper, and to flexible to be metal. On top of that she has strings of light which have been embossed in green. Is this the Green Tinsel from Jutta? Just say yes! To the side of the lights there is a multicolored piece of squiggley ribbon. Thank you AJ....I love getting your cards cuz it usually means that you have forgiven my slight indiscretions. From the great state of Illinois and the Feathered One comes several wonderful cards. I love what she did with the snowman and moon from Stewart Stamps. They are very simple and child-like, but make a wonderful scene. She embossed the snowman in a frosty white along with some snow and the moon in a glittery gold. All of these are cutout and on a navy cardstock with Beadz at the corners to make it look more like a picture frame. Great idea. Then there is the "Cloaked Man"....a Zettiology stamp. He is done in a brilliant red surrounded by winter-bare trees. The color of the sky is like one of those you see on a cold wintery night before the storm. This scene is layered on a piece of dark red paper that has been marbleized. Stunning, simply stunning. The last one is a wonderful Christmas card. Using the PSX Noel stamp, she stamped on a mulberry paper and layered on gold foil which is layered on a Christmas green cardstock. Of course all the colors she used to color Noel blend beautifully with the rest of the papers she used. Thank you dear Feathers.... your talent is simply wonderful. Next is from Suki and jolly ole England. She used a "Leaf Fairy" which she cuts out and mounts on homemade paper. All around the fairy are stars, moons and celestial "stuff". Of course the envelope matches the paper. The paper is just wonderful Suki. A creamy beige with different leaves throughout....small type like pine and rye grass etc. Thank you one and all....a great mail day.
