I make my own pearlized cardstock for backgrounds. I just dilute my liquid Liquitex Interference Gold Opal (LIGO) with lots of water and quickly wash it over my cardstock with a big soft brush.. It hardly adds any color at all but the shimmer is exquisite. I've also used the highly diltued LIGO with a texture stamp to great effect. My favorites so far are my marble texture cube, I use the big open marbling side exclusively for this, my small leopard pattern stamp, and have gotten very nice soft effects with a nerf ball (cut in half for easier handling - squish t he flat side together and stamp with the rounded side) Sometimes I add a bit of color with marvy scribbled down before I add the LIGO and water and I like to schmear this on with my fingers to get a nice uneven cloudy texture (Moostamp, your feather'd lady was done this way) Love you all, Feathers - It ain't art unless I get my fingers dirty! ***Rubberstampers always bounce back!*** This message was from feathersmc@juno.com (G M) - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I'm sure most people know this already, but if not, here's a helpful hint that makes it a breeze to go through your messages. I usually go through the list and delete all the messages with topics I may not be interested in--then I can go back and read the ones I kept! To delete a solid block of e-mails (i.e., 20 in a row), click on the first message, hold down the "shift" key and then click on the last message in the block. This will highlight ALL the messages between the first and last one. Then simply click on "Delete" and they will all be deleted at once! To delete various messages that are not in a consecutive row, hold down the "CTRL" key as you click on each message you wish to delete. Then click on the "Delete" key to erase all the messages you've highlighted! Hope this helps at least SOMEONE!!! :) This message was from MY4LABS - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. In the box was a muslin bag that had Santa stamped on it with liquid applique on his beard and the saying I believe in Santa Claus with stars stamped on it as well. Inside was 2 ink spots, one red and on green, candy red embossing powder, and red and silver metal flakes? Dawn let me know how to use these, they look great but I'm not sure how to use them. The card was Stampin Up's snowman done on white cardstock and layered on blue cardstock, I crack up everytime I look at it with the snowman poop(marshmallows) inside. The ornament is beautiful with two cherubs on a snowflake that is like a dusty pink color with the words Unto us a child is born his name is Jesus and this was put in a lavender net bag with pretty tinsel and stars cord around it. The song Silent Night on white cardstock sprayed lightly with opalescent glitter spray the edges were bordered with pine boughs and stars, very pretty. There was peanut butter chocolates, a recipe for pinwheel sandwiches, a bag of cafe mocha cappuccino, yummmmm, burgundy ribbon, silver ribbon, a book called Random Acts of Kindness, (how did you know I've wanted this book?) a wavy hearts stencil, a cute Santa magent layered on corrugated paper, Zig 2 way glue, red and green cardstock and some tissue paper. The opening order minimum is $175.00. I would like to place my order the first or second week of January or as soon as I have reached the opening order minimum. I will keep you posted as to how close we are on meeting the $175. They do have a website-- it's www.heroarts.com it doesn't show a whole lot though. If you don't have a catalog this will hopefully allow you enough time to order one. If anyone needs a price list, please let me know. Also, if you would put my name in the subject line this would be very helpful. I am offering 30% off retail and 10% or $4.00 for S&H (whichever is greater). I would really appreciate anyone who could help me out on this order as the opening order requirements are kind of high. Thank you in advance & Happy Holidays! ~Sandy~ :-) This message was from "Sandy McDaniel" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. My Grandmother is here visiting from Oregon so I'll show it to her too. She's a softie like me ;-) It's very nice of you to think of Gene and I during this hectic time of the year. Cheers!!! I can't figure out how they got in because I don't have a fireplace but there were some chocolate smears on the heating ducts downstairs! Hmmmmm. I just love my angel UMs. They are exactly what I asked for. I shoulda asked for world peace or good will towards men or something high falutin like that but . . . hey, this is rubber we're talking about! The men are on their own! Thank you Giggles for all the laughs during the months and the neat new stamps! I don't know how you ate all that toffee but I'm sure Santa has almond pieces in his teeth too! Cheers!!! The correct spelling is Fibromyalgia (you forgot an "a"). Here is the URL to the USA Fibromyalgia Association http://www.w2.com/fibro1.html This should get you started. This is something that I have and have lived with for over 15 years now. Some days are definitely worse than others. It helps to find a good doctor, but is very hard to do. (I have yet to find one.) But most of all I find the best medicine is a POSITIVE ATTITUDE!! You cannot let stress get to you, and you also need to take it easy physically. The more you get run down and tired, the more your symptoms will flare up!! I could go on and on...but I won't. I have found these two things help me tremendously. I had read a really good book about how having a positive outlook on life can change your physical problems (maybe even cure you). I don't have it anymore 'cause I passed it on to a friend. I have found that it works for me and I don't need the medication anymore. Still have bad days, but who doesn't? Anyway, sorry I'm rambling and I hope this helps alittle. I've been on this list since January and in February I figured this out ;-) Thanks for sharing with the group! xoxo, Michelle Cobb CobbStamp _______________________________________________________________________________ From: MY4LABS on Tue, Dec 23, 1997 1:39 PM Subject: RS: Helpful Hint on Deleting Unwanted Messages Recently, there have been posts about tangent messages and how long it takes to delete messages. :) This message was from "Michelle Cobb" - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum.
