And Muffin the psycho cat is unique. As a kitten I gave her to my Mom who lives alone in an apartment and was 74yrs old. When Muffin got older , she would "suddenly jump out of nowhere and wrap her front paws and teeth " around my Mom's legs. The front paws were declawed but the teeth were sharp and would give Mom broken skin bites and scratches. Muffin liked to sit in the window sill and watch outside but when Mom would close the windows ( for AC or other reasons) Muffin would try to bite her so Mom would put on gloves to get Muffin out of the window. And Mom went away for 2-3 days leaving Muffin alone in the apartment with plenty of food and water ( I would never do this ) so, Muffin would almost attack her when she came home. Finally, when Mom would sit in her chair , Muffin would sit on her lap for only a few minutes and then try to bite Mom if Mom wasn't " petting her the right way". What is the right way?? I don't know. So now we have a cat who is terrorizing my Mom. So I brought her back to my house were my cat psychology worked. Now, she is friendly and social and behaves herself. I did receive the swap and actually wrote a description of each card - just haven't had the energy to post. Will do so now, after having slept part of the evening away!!!!! Thank you for hosting and hope you are feeling a bit better. From: Debra Nielsen - A very nice card with ginko leaves stamped on vellum and then also gold embossed the same leaves and a message: Think of you. All mounted on a patterned paper and a ribbon bow on top. Debby Gribbin - This card had four layers. The bottom was gold, then navy then white with all sorts of different ways to spell Debbie or Debra or you get what I mean as a background and then on top of that on navy again was POSHs Wonderful, Exciting and Fabulous stamp embossed in gold. I really liked this one. Deborah K. Johnson - This is a very nice card. Deborah even gave credits which in itself I am sure I was expected to figure out how it was done. Will have to see if I can replicate it or not. She used the Laurel Burch "Woman Spirit" stamp and stamped on black with silver ink. She colored it exquisitly (that's where the technique comes in) then it's mounted on shiny silver paper, mounted over purple and turquoise torn strips of paper, over black ribbed paper sponged with silver ink mounted on purple and finally mounted on a speckled grey paper. Beautifully done. Debbie Coller - Debbie's card is also on black but she very creatively used her corner rounder edger scissors for a very unique look. Kinda hard to explain but it certainly gave me ideas for using those scissors. She also made a shrink art "D" for the center of the card and a flower charm hanging down off of one of the layers. Thank you Debbie. Deborah Kaeding - I love this pin. Who's stamp is it. This pin has a santa going down a chiminey with his bag of goodies and a saying of "you better watch out". The sack it attached with a brass fastener so you can move it aside and underneath is the sack with presents and the saying "you better not pout". Debbie Burnham - Debbie's card was a collage - something I'm definately not too good at, so am extra pleased to see this one. Her base card is dark green and she used buttons, silk flower, stamped and corrugated scrap of paper on the outside. Inside, she has done a pop-up that says thank you. Thank you Debbie - this was a great card. Debra Wunderly - Debra's card was also inspiring for me. Again on dark green card stock she has stamped and embossed in silver three large candy kisses at the bottom. Around the edge she has scribbled a line in silver ink. Then she cut out a little rectangle so you could see Thanks which was stamped on the inside in silver and mounted on glitzy magenta paper. Debbie Burnham mentioned a southwestern card and I too am guessing that it is from Debbie our hostess. I didn't receive one but I did receive a very nice note that she would be sending hers out to us as she has been ill. I want to thank you again for hosting this swap - don't we have a lot of wonderful stampers with our namesake?!!!! Hope to see all of you again in another Debbie's swap and maybe a few more. - -- Bye for now Daybreak(Debbie) This message was from carrubba - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. If you have a previous catalogue, let me know how we can help you. I still have quite a few of their catalogues left for anyone else interested. We were going to combine those stamps with the HALOS sheets of rubber and the Impress Me images, but it hasn't happened yet. If you'd like a Pinon Press catalogue, I'll include it free with any order over $10 while supplies last. The images are wonderful and all original and we are so happy to have been the lucky ones to be able to purchase them from Nicole. I like having them all the same, so they are all the same height and I can combine images on one mount. If you're a HALOS user, the loop tape eliminates the need for cushion, raises the images up high enough that the corners don't pick up ink, and hook tape holds the stamp securely in my storage files and sheet protectors--not to mention on the mounts. When we do conventions, I sometimes grab an unmounted with no cushioing to stamp an index card for new images that I've brought along, and most of the time, they stamp pretty well, but the advantages above make the extra seconds and pennies to mount them worthwhile. As much as you pay per square inch for an unmounted stamp (not in grab bags), it's worth the extra to make sure they don't get lost. We buy the powder and package it in our containers(me, PSX, ANM, all of us). Now the difference is that some of us buy a better(finer) grind of the powder from the wholesaler. Some retailers will buy the EP already packaged from a stamp company who has the powder in their companies jars. The Fine Line Detail powder is the finest available. It does give great detail. I have it in 6 colors Gold, Silver, Copper, Black, Clear and White. I have a grabbag right now for all 6 for $25 including postage. These are 1 oz by volume bottles. You're right, icy roads are the absolute worst to drive on! And I love snow, but not if I have to drive in it. We live in the boonies and narrow winding roads can be a nightmare in winter. All the main roads will be clear, but we can't go anywhere (or I won't) because of the 4 mile drive to reach the main road.
