As you all know, Jan 98 will be Ruthann's last swap which is Stampa Barbara. I will be listing my themes shortly. First, I'd like to share with you the new procedures: **Send ten (10)** cards 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch cards (half sheet of cardstock). Don't fold! Include an ADDRESS LABEL (SAML) for me to use to return the cards. **Send $1.00 for mailing the cards back** DON'T COLOR. Use WHITE - can be glossy or matte. Stamp in black ink that won't smear if colored with markers, or you can emboss. If you want to do different images on the cards instead of all the same, that is fine. Please include stamp credits. Put your name and e-mail addy on the back of each card. All cards must be postmarked by the last day of each month. Stamp things that will be EASY to cut out. Remember you will have to cut out what you get back to use to make your own cards. My address is: Eva J. The only exception is if you do a large stamp that can only fit a couple of times on the card, then the card can be cut in half and used like a mat. For example, a floral image from PSX is usually large, so just stamp the image twice on one card and the card could easily be cut in half. New Procedures: Send TEN cards instead of the previous six. Send ONE DOLLAR instead of .78cents. I will use the money to buy envelopes and for the extra postage to mail back to you. Can't wait to see all your great images!! Let's play! First cards due postmarked Jan 31st...........let's get ready for Easter and Spring!! I just also want to thank Ruthann for a fun 97. I think it's only available on Monday nights... All you can eat seafood for $8 (if I remember right). We pigged out on raw oysters, raw clams, steamer clams, king crab legs, crawfish, clam chowder, scallop, seafood fettucinni, crab cakes, some kind of fish which I didn't have cause I was too busy eating oysters, clams, and crawfish!! And, of course, a huge desert bar with everything from pies to cakes to chocolate mouse!! Hey, tell you what, buddy... next time I'm in Vegas, I'll look you up and take you there myself! OK?? She is none other than Maureen Butcher! Maureen is signed up for the next SSS round, and one of you lucky people will have her as your Secret Sister. She is warm, thoughtful, generous, and lots of fun! Maureen, I can't tell you how special you've made these last 5 months and now we can really get to know one another. I'll write you a private email later. Oh, and the package she dared me Not to open---Maureen made me a set of beautiful note cards. She dry embossed a shell on white CS, layered it on gold, and then affixed both to assorted CS colors. On the back, and embossed stamp reads, "Handmade by Maureen! Well, I had my first son about 2 months after I turned 18. I got preg. in high school and didn't know I was preg. till after I graduated. I was 5 months at the time. When Zach was 10 months I met my DH. We got married when Zach was 21 months. Charlie adopted him on December 9th, 1994. We had Alex when I was 21, and Bekah last Feb when I was 23. My last child ( I think it's my last one anyway) , is due in May. I'm 24 now and it seems odd to me that I will be done having kids so young. The positive side to this is that I can enjoy their years at home and then their kids. God has richly blessed me. For starting out so wrong and growing up the way I was forced to, He has given me a wonderful husband and a wonderful family. I thought this wasn't possible after I got pregnant so young and single. Thanks for listening. LOL, shel aka "rubberducky" who is living happily ever after with her prince charming. cssmith@fidnet.com "I'm my kid's mom." I just wanted to tell everyone what my mother-in-law got me for Christmas. She gave me a wooden light box, numerous brass stencils, stencil brushes, 24-count oil pastels, drafting tape, embossing tool, a ream of lavender (one of my favorite colors) paper and 3 packs of matching envelopes, a small crimper, a Perfect Image Positioner and manicure set. All this because we had a conversation about stencils and rubber stamping (hobbies we both share), and I mentioned that I had a lot of difficulty using the stencils. Santa (in the form of my mother-in-law) was very good to me this year. I hope no one minds me sending this. I just couldn't believe my luck and you all would be the only ones who would understand. I hope everyone had as Merry a Christmas as I did. Cathy Mitchell This message was from Ballc - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Here's what I received: From Ann Sieber: on Bordeaux linen cardstock, she stamped the Dianthus and embossed in a dark red tone for a tone-on-tone look. She cut it out with fancy scissors and mounted it over lavendar mulberry paper, then onto light pink cardstock. On the inside, she stamped: "Wishing you a day bright with sunshine... warm with love." From Stephanie Geddes: on red cardstock, she stamped the poppies and embossed in silver EP. this is then mounted on an eggplant felt textured cardstock. She added a white ribbon bow to the side of the card, a nice extra touch! From Sherry: Also on eggplant felt textured cardstok, she stamped the Lilies and embossed in white. She then painted the flowers with an acrylic paint. I like the effect!! On the inside, she stamped "If I had a flower for everytime I thought of you, I could walk in my garden forever" From Patty Sulcs: The Orchid is stamped on white cardstock and colored with pencils. Patty did a nice job of shading the flowers to give them depth From Kate Hill: A BIG card with the Iris stamped on white cardstock that was cut in an oval shape, then mounted on purple cardstock with the corners fancy punched. The whole thing is then mounted on another piece of white cardstock with the corners rounded. Kate used silver EP on the Iris and colored it with pencils. She added a purple bow at the top, too! Our hostess, Merlene, sent us a couple of stamped images for us to use. She sent me the pansy... I already have it, so I will be exchanging with my friend Cindy who doesn't have this stamp!!
