This is so, like, cosmic! I was just going to write about this same thing. The scenario: in the grocery store, remembering that my FIL birthday was 2 days away. So I'm scanning the racks for a card to send -- NOTHING that appeals to my sensibilities. Desperation sets in...this IS the grocery store, you know...and it is about 1 am... I spy one that doesn't look too bad, chocolate brown edges, dark blue middle, and a rectangle of an image in the middle -- gold foil line borders and a plain happy birthday written in gold. Whew, the sentiment is just fine -- nothing too sappy. However, the artwork is lame. I sigh, toss it in the basket and take it home. Later, one day remaining, I look at it again, and think, hmmm.... there is just an image in the middle, with a perfect gold and brown border.... so I cut a piece of gold CS that same size, and triple emboss it with gold and copper and stamp a LB cat in it and throw on a couple stars -- quicklike! I glue it in the little rectangle. Voila! a half-handcrafted card! I mail it off feeling very pleased with myself! Hope you are too! Not to mention the reams of paper I have used printing off the info. I will only be doing this until Friday. Lots of people are posting and finding their own adoptive people, and that may be the easier way to go. So, After Friday, if you want to adopt or be adopted, just ask the list. I will continue to match up those who have requested and have sent in the forms. If you have already sent your info, do not resend it. I worked the last two nights, and am just getting to them today. If you are wondering what adopting involves.....I really don't have a clue, but have earlier posted tips I find that would help. Lots of people are posting what their adoptive people are doing. Thanks for everyones patience. Leilani This message was from Leilani140 - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. I have read very few of the squabbles, but have read a couple. I tend to be very heavy with the delete key. I often answer people from the list privately. Then the reply from them is cc to the list. What a shock to start getting personal mail from others about your post that you never made public. It is only polite that if someone posts to you in private, be it good bad or indifferent, that one extend the same courtesy and keep it private. There are two pieces to each template- you lay the first one down and tear around it and then lay the other one down and fold around it. Do I have this right? I think they are called create-a-lope. Does anyone have these? If so what sizes and what do you charge? Thank you! Holly m.
