It came at a time that when everything was going haywire and I was overstressed and let me sit back and smile. Ann sent me a "Box" of Chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts from (where else but) Hawaii AND a marvelous card. OK, I'll tell about the card...... It's a layered card on white card stock. She used a red with white dots for the 1st layer cut with a deckle and on another white piece she stamped this adorable Santa snowman with a little girl whispering her list to him and a cute puppy sitting at his feet holding his list all rolled up and a tiny little bird sitting on Santa's shoulder with a stocking cap on holding a pencil in his beak writing his list. Ann colored the card right down to the stitches around the border of the picture with markers and accented the picture with liquid applique and glitter. Wonderful job! Plus, Mr. Evo would probably be there, and he may count 2 babies instead of one, and that's a shocker you wouldn't want...and then Betsy would name the baby and you'd get a name that you wouldn't understand , and then Giggles would teach the baby how to eat chocolate under the table, and Peter Pan may whisk him away to never never land, and while that's a wonderful place, you don't want to give birth to a Lost Boy...but one thing: there would be lots of ink for baby's first footprints!!!!! However...I think I read somewhere in the news of the convention that babies are allowed...and strollers...but incubators and stirrups and epidurals are strictly prohibited... So...you just take care of yourself and your baby...and we'll just have to meet again in another place another time...!!!! Love ya!!!! Well I don't how I did i, but I survived the ice storm of '98! Ohhhh. It's so nice to be home in my own house. I slipped on the ice Saturday after work and had to be seen at the local urgent care center. Nothing was broken, but my right hand is very badly bruised. I had to stay in the local Red Cross shelter for 3 days. POwer came back on for me on Tuesday. I attmpted to stay in the house but my bronchitis was worse and I started to run a hih fever. I knew something was wrong and drove to a friend's house. They took me to an ER where I spent the night. The hospital was out of beds. It wasn't very restful. Well, the house is warm now, I'm a little better. Got more medicines from my doctor. Everything should be hunky-dorey except the brakes went in my car and I have to have them fixed. Yikes! There goes all my $$$. I am going to un sub for a few days, it's hurts to type. I have over 2600 messages to read tho. Hope someone was naughty while I was gone! LOL!! TWICE! =) .......and it felt so good! Yes, that's right! I have never been RAK'd before and today I got two cards in the mailbox. First one I opened was from the RAK Keeper herself, Diana Knapp. She sent me my very first convention pin! It is a lady with her hair in rollers and she is yelling "Gimme rubber!" Cute! And just in time. I am going to my first rs'ing convention later this month and need some pin ideas. Oh, and she has stamped some little RAK postoids for me so I can RAK other people. Thanks, Diana! That was so nice of you. The second RAK was from Betsy Bursey. It came in a cute envelope with snowflakes dancing around on it. (The only snowflakes I'll probably see this winter) The card is a bunch of little sprites (?) playing in the snow and two of the little guys have made a HUGE snowball that they are carrying on their backs. It says "dolce far niente" on the inside of the card. Are you talking dirty to me, Betsy, or is that something about having a nice winter?? Just kidding! I would like a translation, though. Thanks to you, too. I am keeping this card up on my file cabinet in the Stampers Hall of Fame. =) Ladies, you are too kind! And I realllly needed it today. My daughter isn't feeling well and she is being a major "Mama's girl" and I needed the pick-me-up! Thank you both so much!!!! Well, it's been a LOOOOONG week trying to find someone who knows anything at all about these little guys!! I have spent many hours trying to hunt down some more laminators at a great price (do I look like I have aged?! Naaah, don't even answer that!). I contacted every vendor that I could find who might have some in stock, and couldn't find any. BUT!! (Here's the good news!!) I am able to get Smith-Corona to make some up specially just for you!! =) They will have to do a special run of them so I can get them to you. Now, here's the not so good news... I wasn't able to get them for quite as good of a price. (*MY* cost will more than double!!) But, I am going to still pass on some great savings to you. These normally retail for $119.00, and I will sell them for only $79.95 plus shipping! And, I will make sure that each one will include a FREE set of LAMINATING POUCHES, so you can open the box and start right in laminating!! (And, anyone who knows me knows that I will also throw in a few extra goodies.) =) I need to know how many of you will want these, so that I can tell Smith- Corona to "start the presses"! Please e-mail me ASAP, so that we can get this thing in motion. S-C has told me that these would then be available in February. Thanks for your patience as I have been scurrying around to find more!! Also, if you would like, I can send you a few names of people who have dealt with me so that you will know how *nice* and *fair* (to say nothing of *cute*!) I am. :) Mary the Laminating Queen!
