Yep, the big tip when you get too much wasabi on your bite of sushi, is do
NOT breathe out through your nose! I mix teensy bits of wasabi with my soy
sauce for dipping, my fiance makes his into a muddy paste! <lol> Also like
to lay little slices of ginger over my ebi...

And I'll have you know I broke down and went out for sushi last night...
Greg's treat, 'cause I'm too broke for words. Anago, and kani, and ebi, and
smoked sake, and handrolls... <sigh>

Miyako's here in Houston had been expanding their menu, they've come up
with "Caterpillar Maki", which is REAL good. It's anago -- a little piece
rolled in the middle instead of on top -- with thin slices of avocado over
the top of the seaweed. YUUUUUUUMMMMY!

I'll combine all three :)

Born in Houston, moved to Paris, FRANCE when I was three (I was too young!
No wine, and I can hardly remember it!), moved back to Houston when I was
five and I've been here ever since. Moved way more often than the law
should allow while I was in college (U of Houston, of course), and now I'm
hanging out in a cozy little two bedroom with my fiance -- we'll probably
stay here until we have the money for a house, in Houston! <lol>

Boring, I know, but I just love the place... we're huge and diverse, you
can find at least one of just about ANYTHING you're looking for here, but
it's spread out enough you don't feel crowded. I even found an area on the
east side, you can go look at bluebonnets in the spring without even
leaving the city limits! :)

Graduated Stratford Senoir High (in Houston) in 1989 -- looking forward to
the tenth reunion!

I remember Love's Baby Soft... and I think the sprays someone was trying to
remember were called Impulse. "If a man you've never met suddenly gives you
flowers..." Can't wear hardly anything anymore, my allergies are torture.
Greg (fiance) wears essential oil of jasmine to the Renaissance Festival,
and occasionally a splash of Lagerfeld the rest of the year -- I swear, he
smells so good it oughta be illegal! <lol>

I understand what you are saying....  But, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting
to *know* others on the list.  It is very impersonal to me to just read words
someone else has written without *knowing* anything about them.  Even
published books often have an "about the author" page which I always read.  It
just gives you a little more to "hang your hat on".  All of these posts *tell*
me something about the Poster.  I admit I am spending waaaay too much time
online lately (less time stamping, cleaning, cooking) but I suspect that the
bulk of the people who are interested in responding to these particular
tangents have already done so.  And I very pleased to know you all a little
better!!

Hey, they've been around a long, long time.

My mom told me that my dad's cousin is a real practical joker. He is
retired now but he was a river pilot for the big ships that come into the
Port of Portland. He was gone a lot and if he had chocolate in the house
when he left it wouldn't be there when he got back. So he put some
chocolate covered ants in his drawer and told his wife not to touch it.
When he came back it was gone and he told her what it was.

She got him back though. She was nursing their son and she put some of
her expressed milk on his breakfast cereal one morning! 

That was about 45 years ago.

In law.

I have been amazed by the number of kind and compassionate letters.

It has been a very tough week, but the Lord is helping us through it. 

Last night was really tough for me though as I was at my inlaws house for the
first time since her death and it was so lonely without her there, and
watching my Father In Law suffer the loss so greatly was almost to much to
bear. they were together almost 60 years so it is tough for him.

Hi All, I just can't believe nobody wants my blitzer :-(. I advertised it a
few days ago and nobody reacted. It's just sitting here gathering dust. 
Isn't there anyone on the list that wants this handy (umph) Blitzer?? I
want to trade it for cardstock, or backgroundpapers (no wallpaper), or
beads and charms. I don't have markers with it (they're almost empty, but
new markers that fit aren't hard to find) and I keep the templates, because
I can use them with my blow pens. ANYONE??????!!!!!!!!!

Hi.  I was RAK'd by Cindy Fitzgerald today.  She used ivory cs, layered a
couple different smaller gray peices with a stamp of a lady that says I'm
living life to its credit limit!  (i think stampin up???)  Thanks Cindy. 
Iove it.

I also received a card from Kathy McCaffrey (KalicoKathy).  First of all it
was in a handmade envelope from a calendar.  What gorgeous kitties on it. 
Then the card was of a couple of mice, one holding a mirror up, the other
checking her lipstick in the mirror.  I am not familiar enought to know who
makes them.  She embellished the top of the white cs with a peice of red
lace.  So Cute.  Inside it says "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder".

You gals have made my day.  I am a little stressed over the trip to San
Francisco and this was very welcomed.  

Have a great weekend.  Talk to you again on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Age Differences: Typically I always dated a guy who was a year or two older.
But Chris is a year and a half younger and I'm just crazy about him!

Fragrance: When I was a little girl, I had ALL the "Tinkerbell" products. VBG
High School/College varied - earthy stuff like The Body Shop's "White Musk"
"Rain" and "Dewberry," and the posh stuff like Chanel's "Coco" Estee Lauder's
"Beautiful" and Calvin Klein's "Eternity." Post college I've been addicted to
"Limelight" products by Bath & Body Works. (Also wore their "Gingham"
fragrance for a while.) Like Banana Republic and Ann Taylor fragrances. The
Gap's stuff is good too. *But ANY citrus-scents really!

I received the wonderful work of Chris Strube. A tiny suitcase made with a
matchbox.
On the outside of suitcase are several stamps (tiny)--1 has England, set of
wings, Calif. Rubber,Rubberland, & 1 other with a sun, ship & ocean. How
didall these tiny stamps fit on this little box. Maybe Chris drew these by
hand???? This suitcase even has the handle & closurelocks.

On the inside: postcard completed with stamp, adress, message, & stamp of a
kittie. Can you believe a passport with Snickers birthdate. Thats not all: A
kitty (Snickers) all curled up on a little bed or mat. 

Chris you spent hours on making this wonderful suitcase.

Its stuff about Rubberstampers!  Tthis is a "RubberstampERS" list and not
a "RubberstampING" list, fine distinction but an important one, being
that the people that comprise this list are just as important (if not
more!) as the hobby they share.

And much as we all love rubberstamping and art and craft, there are not
always enough new tips ideas, catalog reviews etc to post about
constantly and sometimes folks just want to chat with other like minded
folks about fun things, learn about each other, find out what drives the
hands and minds that do the stamping, and so on.  We're a very social
group.

But one thing that has always bothered me when a post appears that frets
over the amount of TANS there are on this list is that it always seems to
be implied that the TANS are taking up the space that could be used for
RS info . . . or in other words, for each TAN we have one less RS post.  
 Not so.  We still post all sorts of stuff about RS, and there will
always be enough room for each post.

But like I said, we are a social group and love to chat and discuss and
query each other.  With as much interaction as we all have, what with
swaps, Raks, etc.  I think it only adds to our creativity and pleasure in
our hobby to get to know the people behind the works of art.

And I  have to say that I love the surprise of finding out that someone
I've giggled with like a schoolgirl, and who I might have assumed is in 
her early 20's just from the joie de vivre of her writing, is a grandma
of many years, or that someone who gave me some wonderful words of wisdom
is in fact a very young person,  or that someone that really understands
something difficult that I've been going through and has really helped, 
was raised and lives in a totally different country and culture from my
own.  I have no preconceptions about people from anything but what comes
from within them.   This list has not only expanded my world, but brought
the world closer to me.

I really really love that this list is about and for the *people* who
rubberstamp.

I really don't recall using perfume when I was in school.  I must've tho.

What I DO remember is my Mom's perfume.  It was called Evening In Paris. 
It came in the most beautiful cobolt blue bottles.  She had one that was
about 1/2" diameter with a pointed bottom and a golden tassel attached to
the top.  It  could not be stood on a dressing table. It was meant to be
carried in an evening bag.
