He didn't hit very hard and no damage was done to either vehicle so I thought nothing of it at the time that it happened. Well, when I woke up the next morning I could not move. The lower half of my body was fine, but talk about "a pain in the neck". I went and had X-rays done, Whiplash, of course. I have spent the last 2 years in physical therapy, and with a great doctor of osteopath. Unfortunately, it seems that it will never be the same again. It's hard not to give up and say, O.K., I will never get better, deal with it. I try very hard not too. If I sit in one place to long, or stay in one position too long, I hurt for days. It's very hard for me to sleep anyplace but in my own bed, with makes travelling very difficult. My mom laughs at me 'cuz I carry my 65 pound water pillow with me when we go to rubberstamp shows. So, to make a long story short, there are people whose disabilities can't be seen openly, and we should all try to respect that. I also suffer from depression, which, in my eyes is another disability that can not be seen on the outside. i love to stamp and was thrilled when I found this list and even more thrilled at all the support I have received from the caring people here. There are a ton of us on this list that suffer from our own disabilities and some of them are ones that can not been seen on the outside. So, if anyone ever sees someone parked in a handicap space, and they have the proper license plate or tag for handicapped parking, know that they had to go through alot of red tape to get that tag or plate, and that they deserve it. Over the past two years I've made and given cards to most of them and sometimes I take the cards from swaps that I've been in for "show and tell". (I LOVE "show and tell"). They keep asking me if I wouldn't please have a class and teach them how to do similar stamping. Some of them have been to a DOTS party and some of them have a few stamps. They all seem really anxious to do more. NOW....the real problem. I'm willing to do something like a stamping get-together, I really don't want to teach, but would love to get together to just stamp. But I know they probably all need some help. Does any one have any great (or not so great) ideas on how to get started. What basic things do you think I need to explain. I feel like I should pick a simple project and just explain that. There is so much I have taught myself in the past 20 years...I've only taken one class but read a lot of the magazines and get ideas from this great list. Please help. What a wonderful letter! You have expressed something extremely important for people to remember.........just because you can't see a person injury does not mean they don't suffer with pain. Back injuries are so very painful and I admire anyone who lives with them. Also, Cancer is not visible and it also doesn't mean you don't suffer with the pain. People need to change their perceptions of what a disablitity truly is. I wish you all the best and have a blast at the convention. I found it helped to take naps! Ha! Ha! Giggles to you always!
