If it were not for this group, my stamping would have never taken off... actually I would have given up stamping because it was just too hard and expensive to get stuff all the way from the US. The companies I first ordered from when I got my first issue of RSM either charged a fortune for shipping a single wood-mounted stamp all the way here or just ignored my faxes and letters... maybe they thought my credit card info wasn't good since it was coming from a so-called Third World country... their loss,of course! Then I got to know about this group...and have been here since July/96. HALOS came for my rescue ;-) and the two times I signed up for the SSS I was given the very best ones of the each round ;-) What I envied most, though, was the fact you guys over there could meet each other and stamp together... Boy, was I green!! But miracles happen over and over again :-) just gotta believe them :-) and last year at Easter I was blessed by the presence of a fellow stamper in my own home!!!!!She was a gift from Heavens :-) Again because of the list, Devon and I got in touch and what she has done to help me since then cannot be expressed into words. Yes, indeed, this is a wonderful group :-) I pay a small fortune each month for my Internet/email access but I cannot survive with it anymore :o) I can only hope I'll always be able to contribute nice things here and make more and more friends ;-) My dream is to go to the US one day and meet as many list members as I possibly can, go to a stamp store!!!!(can hardly imagine what it looks like and what I would look like in one, probably drooling all the time LOL!) and last but not least go to a convention yay! I just put the vellum over whatever part of the design I want, and start tracing it with a stylus. It helps to have another page or two under the wallpaper. Usually I don't copy every little detail, but I turn the vellum over every so often to see if I want more detail, and add it from the design or myself. The other day I did this and then used a ruler to make a border line, then added details to the line and used my micro punch. It also gives me ideas for colors I can use together in cards, sewing, decorating, etc. even if the design is not one I'd actually put on my wall. My mom covers boxes with it. If you go to a wallpaper store, besides old books, you can often get roll ends from the things they've put up for displays. Of course, it helps to have my mom along--she's got moxie!!
