For those who haven't heard yet............ I was very excited when I received my first RAK (Random Act of Kindness) and I've RAK'd others who also were excited to receive their first one. To further explain what a RAK is, someone on the list challenged us to send a card to someone for no apparent reason. Not a birthday, anniversary, swap etc. but just for the fun of it. It really caught on and we all enjoyed receiving these unexpected cards. Someone called it a Random Act of Kindness and it stuck. The Wannabee RAK'd List is for those who have never been RAK'd and want to be. If that's you, just send me your name and address with a request to be added to the Wannabees. It will not be posted to the whole list, only to those seeking a name to RAK. Likewise if you would like to RAK someone who has never been RAK'd contact me for the latest list. Some send only a card or postcard, (signed or unsigned) others include small token gifts, such as postoids, um's, background papers, embellishments, once I even received homemade chocolates! So most anything can be a RAK. [Not to be confused with the "Snail Mail List" which requires filling out a form and lists everyone who does this. Once of the things I had in the store was an iron, and I could iron anything onto something else...as long as I had the special iron on letters... I had a whole list of things people would come in and ask for ...similiar to ironing a saying on a T shirt....anyway... So go out and get your guy some briefs or boxers ...and you can stamp anything on them where ever you want to on the underwear... go have fun with it... then wrap it up in my new stencil... lol Regardless if you use my stencil...this is a really cool idea.... kathie This message was from Rustamping - -- The rubberstampers mailing list is proudly sponsored by the Dueling Modems Arts & Crafts Forum. Then: 1) Wash and apply gel to roots 2) Dry roots with blow dryer - make sure you get the roots especially dry 3) When hair is mostly dry - spray with hair spray 4) Attach diffuser to dryer and "scrunch" hair up with diffuser 5) Use fingers to untangle where necessary 6) Curl bangs 7) Spray lightly....very lightly or skip this step 8) Tease out carefully using a hair pick 9) Spray like crazy The most important is to get the roots dry first - if you don't it will crash big time! You'll use a bottle of hair spray every two weeks.....but it's worth it! Sorry if this is a duplicate post - I don't know if this went thru the first time... I couldn't believe the timing of this package! It picked the best day to arrive! I have been pretty down in the dumps today and when DH came in the house with your package, my day definitely turned around! This package was FULL of stamps!! My daughter was standing by my chair as I was taking the stamps out, and I think she was just as excited as I was! First stamp is a bamboo branch, which will work perfectly with alot of the other stamps in this package. Next is stamp of a chimpanzee - - with the cutest little baby chimpanzee in it's arms! Then a zebra stamp - love it! A really cool frog stamp, a turtle stamp, and a gorilla stamp - these are all so neat! I've been needing some animal stamps, especially ones I can use for masculine cards, and these will work great - thanks!! And then there is a really pretty small butterfly - - I just bought a big butterfly awhile back, and this will work perfectly for stamping in the background, maybe under vellum....hey, I'm going to have to try that! Next is a wonderful stamp of a grove of trees - another great background stamp! One of those that is so versatile and can be used ALOT!! Then, a great nautical stamp - it has a starfish, anchor, sea shell, flippers and a snorkel! I love anything nautical and this will also work really great with a porthole stamp I just ordered from Michelle at Grandma's attic! (great timing!) Last, but definitely not least, is the stamp that had my daughter screaming and running all over the whole house - so excited! A HUGE Mickey Mouse stamp! Abby loves Mickey Mouse and the very first project I am going to do with this is to take some fabric ink and stamp it on her sweatshirt! But wait....there's more! Three wonderful unmounted stamps - all tropical fish!! One is a huge angel fish, and then the other two are really pretty smaller tropical fish - these also will work so great with that porthole stamp I just ordered! And I can't forget the nice card my SSS sent - she stamped and embossed smaller shells on the background, and then stamped a larger shell of the same type and mounted it 3-D style on top. With all these nautical stamps and the card, I feel an urge to go to the beach!! Too bad it's only 25 degrees outside! Thank you, dear SSS, for the wonderful package and for bringing a smile to my face! Big hugs!!! In-progess cleaning has revealed over $4 in small change and that the table top is *still* brown formica. What a great mail day!!!!!!! Since there wasn't any mail yesterday, I got 3 cards in today's mail. I always get so much junk mail and far to many bills, it's really a treat to receive these cards. The first one I opened was from The Fairy Stamper (Nicole Price). Neat paper you used for the envie, what is it? It's a tan heavy paper, but not a card stock, with flecks of differnt colors in it. Very nice for an envie--or a card. Cute gecko stamped on the front of the envie and a darling angel special delivery stamp on the back. The card is very pretty. On white card stock Nicole layered pink hand made paper with lovely darker pink fibers in it and on top of that is a beautiful fairy tiptoeing on a bubble. Both the fairy and the bubble are embossed in a lovely aqua or turquoise. And around the outside of the card she has woven some very pretty ribbon--forgive me, I can't think what it's called, but it is opaque and reflects the light in pinks and blues and greens. Very lovely effect. Inside the card, now be careful here when you open it, it says Watch out for the--then the card is folded--and when you open it, it says "fairy dust" and there are little tiny leaf shape pieces of green and pink foil. Just a stunning card Nicole. Thank you for thinking of me. The second card I received is from "Agape' Stamper" (Linda Israel). Linda--this is my first clear envie. Neat, now I know what everyone has been talking about. This card is on white card stock and layered on the front is a bright pink paper trimmed with some fiskars sissors (but don't know which ones). Stamped on the pink paper over and over it says "from the Heart" and then a tiny heart, and then it repeats. Is this one stamp, Linda? Neat!! On top of that she has layered a small piece of lavender handmade paper and on top of that are two cut out hearts cut with the same scissors and colored in shades of pink. A great card Linda. Thank you so much. My third card today came from KalicoKitty (Kathy McCaffrey). What a darling card. First of all, it came in a really neat envie. I was very careful in opening it so I could see what it was made from. It was a page from a calendar. What a great idea. The card is darling Kathy. She stamped a picture of 2 House Mouses (mices)? meeces? One is holding a mirror (which is covered with irridescent glitter) for the other mouse who is looking in the mirror at its reflection. It is holding a tube of red lipstick and has put some on it's lips. The whole picture has been embossed with hot pink ep and the lips and lipstick of the one mouse has been colored red. Across the top of the card is a stirp of white lace with a gold trim edge giving the effect of a frilly curtain at a window. Inside the card it says "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." Such a darling card Kathy, and this is the first time I have seen a House Mouse stamp. I just may have to order some of those. Thanks for RAKing me.
