Saturday: Convention opens at 10 a.m. People arrive early to trade pins, and to be one of the first through the door (they gave free pins last year to the early arrivers). All RS Listee's are to be wearing yellow ribbons on their shoulders (right or left shoulder... or does it matter??) Meeting of RS Listee's at Evolving Images Booth -- 12:00 Noon!!! Meeting again around 3 to 3:30 pm at the Appalachian Art Stamps booth.... Dinner Saturday night: We will definately go out... no special place planned... Last year we all agreed to meet at the front of the convention center at 5:15 or so and then decided upon a place. This is probably what we will do this year also!! There will also be a group of us going to Stamp DeVille and Paper Routes on Saturday night, as each is staying open LATE just for us conventioneers!! Sunday: No plans yet for Breakfast... if we did it would have to be early (8:30 or so) as the convention opens at 10:00 am. The Clear Lake Area Stamper's Society (CLASS) will be there (that's Me, geevee, StampMonster, and others) and we will be wearing t-shirts we stamped up that say CLASS on the front, and some of us have our nicknames on them too (Mine says "STAMPALOT SUE" in large letters on the back!!) Thanks for all of the ideas and cards that I've received to celebrate my 16th Anniversary- January 30. I appreciate all of them and have sent snail mail in return. Susan Benedict used shades of mauve for her card. She gold embossed Happy Anniversary on a lighter shade card and cut it out with small scallops scissors. This was attached in the center of a medium shade cardstock. Four roses were black embossed on a deeper shade card and cut out. The roses were mounted on the corners of the saying. Stargazer generously sent several ideas for cards. She embossed a pink heart on red cardstock, cut it out and mounted it over a piece of lace. The lace was attached to a mauve card.-- Another card had a pair of lovebirds embossed in gold on a white card, the area around the birds was colored in with markers and resembles a stained glass look.-- On a blue card she embossed in gold four roses in each corner of the card. A large rose was gold embossed on red cardstock, cut out and mounted in the center of the blue card. Ant Judy used purple cardstock. She stamped and colored in a cherub painting a flower on a white card. This was cut out in an oval with deckle scissors and attached to the purple card. She used a lace shell corner punch and punched out the two front corners of the purple card. Gold metallic rub-ons were rubbed over the front of the card. Inside the saying was embossed in gold. Sandra Haycock stamped and colored a dancing couple on white paper. This was cut out in a rectangle and attached to a blue card. Carole Mork's card arrived in a clear envelope. She embossed in black a Precious Moments couple eating ice cream. This was cut out and attached to two layers of light/dark mulberry paper. This was attached to the front of a confetti cardstock. The side edge of the card was cut with Victorian scissors and she used wonder/miracle tape and glitter for the edge of the card that shows beneath the cut out edge. My MIL sent her a birthday card (it had flowers and birds on it, etc--store bought) and of course she already opened it. Later my sister found her tearing it up into pieces. When she asked Rebecca why she was tearing it, she replied, "I'm making a collage!" Then she asked if she could rip up all of the cards she gets and make a big birthday collage. Isn't that cute (and not because I'm prejudiced). For one of her gifts I sent her a little Koosh ball attached to a tube of self-inking stamps. She's going to include the stamps in her masterpiece.
