Seems like this would solve a bunch of stuff -- from >ordering to shipping to payment... >Is doing credit cards a hard and/or expensive thing to do? >Just curious, Deborah, Yes, taking credit cards can me very expensive. I checked into several companies, some less expensive than others. A couple of places quoted me between $300-$400 for just the software and hardware alone. Then there are various monthly fees and of course, the money the CC company charges you to use the service. A lot of CC companies want you to sign a contract for their service. What if you go out of business, illness, and the like..many things can happen. You are still liable for the monthly fees..which can range up to about $50/month for two years. If you want to take the credit cards at fairs, craft shows and the like, you also need a cell phone. I found the whole process very complicated to try and understand..and scary. You need a good customer base before you can think about taking CC's. Taking CC's can also, but not always, drive up the cost of your product. You also need a good personal credit rating. What does work well if the customer wants to use plastic are those checks that some CC companies issue the cardholder that you use just like a check, except it goes on your credit card. The vendors are still faced with the problem of the CC not being good. Just my experiences/opinions, Sandy Lemon Tree Soapworks. Then a vendor has some peace of mind that it is good right now and the customer doesn't have to wait for the check to clear. Just a thought. Michele >> And a good thought it is!! However, I sometimes receive 10-15 checks a day. I work full time, and package orders, answer e-mail, etc... for 2 hrs in the morning (5:30-7:30) and 3 hours in the evenings (6:00-9:00). If I were to take the time to call all these different banks, it would add greatly to the time I spend on my business. There are only so many hours in the day for me to devote to this... and I can't be making these phone calls from my work. But here's a though: How about the customers not writing checks for which they don't have $$ in the first place... hey what a concept!! Maybe then she'd shut up. Hope that doesn't offend anyone - I'm just sick of hearing about it. I think others on this list have the right idea when they say things like how could he do this (the newer stuff that supposedly happened in the White House) and the secret service men not know? Very few of us in the world are worthy of being a true and good role model. Really, we are all just human and because of that, we all have faults. I don't know many who could handle the pressures of jobs like President, etc. I don't think sexual harrassment is right - far from it. I just don't understand where Paula was when he was running. Would it not have been big enough of a story to say you slept with someone RUNNING for President? She stands to gain a lot in this and I think that should be looked at. And whatever happened to Statute of Limitation?? In MN you only have like 2 years to file a claim against someone I think. My .02 worth... My 6 and almost 9 year old **still** do this! I have a very large box (VERY large box!) full of ep (since I carry Judikins, VLVS, and have lots from other sources--I **LOVE** ep!) They make cities and "the tallest tower in the world". The other day, Autumn (6), made The Great Wall of China! So far, the only problem was when Autumn got into my Scarlet Sparkle and forgot to put the lid back on! OY, what a mess! she was so horrified that she'd "wasted mommy's stuff", that I didn't have the heart for any punishment. She cleaned up the mess and hasn't opened any more without permission since! Thanks for writing! I'm glad to hear that you let Laura play with them! I think you are describing a "smoothie". These have become pretty popular here in the last few years and there are several chains that sell nothing but smoothies. They tend to be all natural and sometimes have health ingredients in them like wheat germ or extra vitamins. When they have the extra health stuff in them, I've heard them called "energy drinks" or "power shakes." They aren't quite a milkshake because those aren't as good for you =-= usually ice cream plus milk--but so yummy, especially the chocolate ones! Drink up!
