I received my first shaker card *ever* from Shaunna (Queen La Fetti) earlier this week. She'd mailed it in a clear envelope (which looks perfect when folded over shorter for precise fit ... with stamps and mailing label re-inforcing the flap). Does anyone make a stamp with the Slinky (TM) warning about "do not use while operating a motor vehicle"? The card was on the car seat next to me. I kept reaching over to shake it. This *is* dangerous! Fact: You CAN get a Virus or password surfing program from a web page that has forced download. Fact: You CAN NOT get a Virus from opening email Fact: You CAN NOT get your password stolen from responding to an IM Fact: A virus protection program will ONLY protect you from a virus NOT a Trojan Horse program Some facts.. You can get a Trojan Horse from an exe, dll, com, bat or EVEN a DOC file. The emails that these files come in are pretty convincing. They may be a "Beta" version of some new software, it could be a DOC file from someone who says they have a story about Princess Diana who passed away (if.....a Virus has been attached to the file.....) We all know you can get one of these from EXES but until recently we didn't know you can get them from DOC files. When you open a DOC in a newer version of Microsoft Word it executes some code from within the DOC file and infects your computer. ****Remember, neither AOL nor the CLO will ever send you an attached file or ask for your password.**** Email Myths.... You can NOT get a virus from just OPENING an email. You can only get what people call a "toxic" email. This is done the same way as Toxic IM's and Profiles..There is a piece of HTML code that runs down your system resources and can make you crash. Most of the time you reboot and it's over.
