I may live in the capitol of Kansas, but we have next to 'zilch' in way of RS....our local hobby store "Hobby Lobby" seems carry mostly Stamp Affair stamps (I think they also have Judi-Kins, not sure.) At home, I have Inkydinks, Leavenworth Jackson, Stamp of Excellence, The Stampin Place, and Prints of Peace (just arrived) in regards to catalogs and am expecting a few more to arrive. ____________________________________________________________________ Get free e-mail and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Sep 1997 20:27:56 -0800 From: Jim & Kari Subject: RubberTown: Collage idea If you are into collage, one thing to keep in mind is those maps that come in National Geographic magazine. If you go to garage sales, you find these mags in free boxes all the time. My mom and I walked away with an armload of maps from these. Took the maps and left the mags - LOL! When you open up the maps, there are all kinds of images that you can tear out and use for collage. I found some cool pyramid images, and Egyptian images in these. And then of course there are the maps for voyage stuff. Just something to keep in mind. Isn't it terrible when wherever you go, you think "hmm..how can I use that in stamping?" LOL Anyone else want to share a collage idea? These make great items to take home and use for layering. Also all the calendars that come in the mail are useful for backgrounds and envelopes. If you belong to AAA go take some of the maps they have in their offices. (Just don't take too many at once! :>) ) Barbara (StampBear) bholl@halcyon.com On Sat, 20 Sep 1997, Jim & Kari wrote: > If you are into collage, one thing to keep in mind is those maps that come > in National Geographic magazine. Is there one of these going on? Should I host? Anyone interested? If there is already one going on, let me know. That season is fastly approaching and everyone is going to be running around like chicken's with their heads cut off (yikes!!!). So let me know if anyone would be interested? Due date Nov 1st? I tried sealing wax. Sure was hard to hold it in the right place, heat it, and get the wax in the right spot all at one time. Need 3 hands. LOL. I've spiraled them and shaped them in a heart, but what does everyone else do with these? Any other ideas on how to stick them to cards? I tried regular glue but I had to hold it in place until it dried (gave up on that idea). I took some pictures to the local Kinko's and had color copies made. Worked great. Still looked like pictures but I could do whatever without worrying about ruining the picture. I made some mini scrapbooks to send to people we saw on vacation. Was cheaper than having multiples made of pictures!
