Hope you all are surviving (happily) this Christmas season!! I wanted to thank Lisa Mallette for hosting this fun swap!!! You did a great job!! I would of never guess that it was your first!! I'm glad to have been in on it.... Besides my great cards, Lisa also stuffed in some Tootsie's.... yum, yum!!! My first card that I pulled out was by Lorelei de la Mer. She Stamped and embossed a mermaid in a brown EP, and colored it in.She attached the mermaid image to a peice of mulberry paper, which was then attached to her card.... very neat!! I also love the small mermaid stamp on the back of the card... where did you get this from???? I love it!!! The second was from Violetnut. She embossed a mermaid sitting on a rock in gold EP, colored it in with watercolors (is that right??) then cut out the mermaid with wavey scissors, attached it over mulberry paper then to the cardstock.... very nice!! The 3rd was from Cathy Lilly...She used a stamp called fishing buddies from Copper Leaf Creations (which kinda remind me of the sarcastic people from Impresions in Ink.). Then she sponged green ink for the water, added a snorkle swimming dog fromGraphic Rubber Stamps, some tropical fish stickers and a mermaid cat from East Coast Rubber Stamps (she thinks).... That was attached with some raised mounting tape... really a cute card!! Staci from AOL did a really cool card. She brayered the background with teals, greens and blues, but it looks like she used saran wrap to create the effect.... how did you do this with a brayer?? Then she stamped black sea weeds, black fish from Embossing Arts and did a mermaid (also from Embossing Arts) in black embossed ink then filled in the mermaids hair with gold glitter and her scales with a rainbow foil and the fin was done in a green/yellow glitter.... really stricking!! The last one (I hate to see this swap come to an end!!) was a no-namer!! A stamped image of a mermaid on a fish, among some waves and stars. It was then colored in with pencils (or crayons).... Looks like a Laurel Burch type of stamp, but I don't think it was hers.... This was done on a light blue card stock... Love the stamp!! Nice card too!! This was a great swap!! We should do another after the new year, as I have gotten some more mermaids!!! I love these ocean/sea type of theme swaps!!! Please let me know if anyone is going to do another!! I'd love to join again!! Thanks and have a great Christmas & a Happy, Safe New Year!!! I am a fairly new vendor(been to the Ft. Washington, Boston, TN, and Atlanta shows in '97), and had an ad in the NOV/DEC RSM, pg. 59. Company name is Rubber Stamp Rampage Stamps,an angel company, and we have all kinds of interesting images, unlike anything you have ever seen! All stamps are original art with great detail. Many ethnic, celtic, fairies, angels, leprechauns, and border(frame) stamps, etc! Now to the good part... As you probably have been reading, Stampo of Viva Las Vegas Stamps has been having some MAJOR problems. I would like to continue to help him out, by offering you an introduction to my company, with a donation to Stampo with every grab bag ordered. I will offer you $20.00 of unmounted, well trimmed dies for $10.00, (with $2.00 from each grab bag donated to Stampo). Postage is $2.00($3.00 if you want priority). You may order a catalogue for an additional $3.00 at the same time, if you wish. We have already sent Stampo one donation and I would like to continue, especially in light of the recent theft of the money in his bank account. If we cannot help one another in times of need, what can we do? Please help me to help Stampo during this holiday season, and find a great new company while you are at it! You forgot to mention your WONDERFUL cat images. I know there are a lot of cat lovers on the list (I think the Crazy for Cats Card Club has over 55 members now). I saw your stuff at the Atlanta show (and bought as many as I could reasonably afford - you wouldn't believe how many I picked up and had to put down, though!) and your images are, as you said, unlike anything you've ever seen! For anyone who received my CCCC cards with the beautiful floral cat on it (it's a cat silhouette filled with flowers and leaves), this is an example of the great stuff Rubber Stamp Rampage offers. I highly recommend their stamps to anyone who loves images that are elegant, beautiful and unusual (without being "weird"). Debbie, I will definitely be sending for a grab-bag from you. And thanks for your kindness to a fellow vendor who is experiencing a time of hardship. Thank you so very much :-) Where to begin? Hard to find a starting place.... My husband wants me to begin with the Swiss Miss premium cocoas. YUM!!!! He's already lickin' his lips, ready to dive into these. Just the ticket for two very tired and cold people who have been decorating and wrapping and putting the final touches on Christmas here in cold Rhode Island. :-) There are three pieces of material with angels on them! :-) I can think of a million things to do with these. I can never have too many angels around me here, at my office or in my car. These are going to come in very handy. A lovely wooden angel pin - very different and very much appreciated. Clear envelopes/bags for my cards and so many other uses. Definitely needed! What stopped me in amazement is the sheet of address labels you made for me!!!! Wow!!!! I just love them! My buddy put my name and address wtih a beautiful red rose with green leaves on each address label. Can I ask how you did this? They are exactly what I've been looking for! :-) A bag of golden cording - just what I love to use on cards and to wrap up gifts. I've been using TONS of this stuff for Christmas. A great mounted stamp that says "Handmade just for YOU with LOVE"....perfect for those cards I want to send anonymously :-) Don't know who made this one, but I don't care :-) It's going to get lots of use. Confetti!!!!!!! TONS of confetti!!!!! :-) Christmas trees and Merry Christmas and snowflakes and angels and little dots!!!!!!!! Watch out, everyone!!! :-) I am now armed with confetti!!!!! (can you tell I haven't had much of this stuff before?) hehehehe And what's this? A rubber stamp with my email addy on it? SUPER!!!!! Oh, I could hug you for this! *HUGS* :-) Two little ink cubes...in colors of (what else?) red and green :-) Thanks :-) Two colors I really don't have much of, and at this time of year that hasn't been good. Now, however..... :-) I'm ready for more holiday stamping :-) A Fridge Bubble!!! :-) I saw this in a magazine.....I'll have to go back and check which one now. :-) I loved it when I saw it! Thanks! Whoever you are, you are someone after my own heart! You enclosed candy canes (thanks so much! we love them with our hot cocoa) and then did up the legend of the Candy Cane and stamped candy canes all around the edge of it! I really love that. I am going to have it mounted and framed and hung where all of my Christmas guests can see it and appreciate your work! Thanks :-) 1997 Catch up Issue of Stampers' Sampler - no, I didn't have this one before, and I absolutely love this! So many great ideas in here for me to play with now that vacation is nearly here. 12 sheets of embossed metallic paper - oooooooooooh, it's wonderful! Thank you so much! And 15 sheets of glossy metallics! Thanks so much for everything. I love what you've enclosed, and you packaged it all up so beautifully. You have combined very useful things with whimsy. My mind is whirling with ideas.....I could be up all night creating now. :-) Happy Holidays to you, TRIBE sister! May all your wishes come true. love ya, Claudia PS: you asked if Rose is my middle name. Long story that I won't bore everyone with here, but Rose was supposed to have been my first name originally until a family member suggested Claudia. Because of the significance of Rose in my family history, it has been decided that I will legally change my middle name to Rose and I am in the midst of that now. Please please PLEASE let me know if you have it or if you can get it from a store/vendor/friend? thanks so much in advance for anyone who can help me with this Claudia @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- LadyRose@ix.netcom.com POSTCARD interests: Lighthouses, angels maps, stadiums, kittens and recipes covered bridges, and lightning cards @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- @)-->-->--- Visit my homepage: http://www2.netcom.com/~ladyrose/ - - ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Dec 1997 12:53:41 -0500 From: Rose Subject: RubberTown: The Calendar has arrived!!!!! I just opened my mail to a HUGE and wondrous surprise! The calendars from the calendar swap are out and I have received mine!!!! I just love this! :-) This was the first time I'd ever gotten involved in such a project and I am so glad I did. I love looking at everyone's pages, and I love having a calendar that means something so special to me (and my family who watched me rip picture after picture up because it wasn't what I wanted and who gave me tremendous support). :-) Big thanks to Rubber Zombee for taking on the task of making the covers and putting these all together. You have done wonderful work! Thank you for allowing me to push myself a bit and for getting these out for the holidays.
