I'm new to the internet and was interested in sharing stamping info. with other people. Do you have mailings that are sent to all interested crafters? I am a previous owner of a retail cross stitich shop. I had to close my shop approx. 1 year ago, due to my husbands health. He is waiting for a kidney transplant. In the mean time I've become interested in stamping and memory books, while my basement is still full of my left over cross stitch inventory. I was in need of a craft that gave me more immediate gratification while dealing with these stressful times. Thanks for any help or information you can give me. Great card Debbie ! I love it so much, I think it might land onto my website ! :-) Carol Ferrier: Beautiful horse magnet ! Again, I love this !! She used the indian horse (drawn by Sandra Luck I believe) and stamped it in brown ink onto a grey cardstock and layred it onto brown paper. She outlined that with gold and silver metalic paints ... laminated it and made it into a magnet ! I can't wait to put this on my fridge !!! Lisa Mallette: The beautiful Swan on white cardstock ... awesome coloring ! What a elegent card Lisa. I don't have this stamp, but may have to get it now ! Dorothy Ferris: The large rose stamped and colored on glossy cardstock, then layred onto vellum (cut with decorative edges) and layred onto a bright pink cardstock. Excellent idea Dorothy ! Sandra Luck: Sandra stamped the large reindeer with a rainbow pad and EP'ed it with clear. Since the little fellow isn't so "little", the cardstock is pretty tall, but narrow ... and she made it overlap on the left and attached with a gold ribbon with beads .... and when you open it up ... it says "Happy Holidays!". I've got the snowman and was wondering how to do something with him. Thanks the great idea Sandra ! Again, thank you to Tonya for hosting this swap. What was most amazing about this was that all the cards I received used only 1 stamp ... and yet they are all soooo beautiful ! What a great example of how easy stamping really is ! We placed an order, received part of it and although in the months to follow, Sargie e-mailed us indicating she had part of the order (it fell behind a cabinet and the other part she needed to re-order) and would ship it, it has been months since we have heard from her. Both Patty and I have e-mailed her. At first, Patty's e-mail was returned indicating Sargies mail box was filled to capacity. Later, the e-mail apparently were rec'd by her, no returns to us. We also wrote a note and sent it via snail mail to the address we had sent our check. Still no answer. We have e-mailed her indicating we would take further steps unless she at least responded to us. We demanded a refund on the outstanding portion of the order. Still no reply. We know we can now refer this matter to the FCC who has jurisdiction for internet sales. We are prepared to do this. Does anyone know what the status of Sargie is? Has she gone out of business? Has anyone else had similar problems? It is always distasteful to find a vendor, trust them with your money and then not have the orders filled. Ignoring questions re: merchandise we paid for is total arrogance! Anyone who can be of assistance, please e-mail me privately. Seems it came back to me. Here's a swap that deals with masculine cards. A card that you would want to send to the male type person in your lives. I know we could all use more ideas in this area. It should be an Adult male card but anything else goes. No theme other then masculine. So lets see what we can all come up with. It will be a 5 for 5 swap Due Jan 31, 1997 Please email me for more information. I think. She said she would attempt to fill existing orders but has failed at that in most cases. I filed a complaint against her in Nov. with the Postal Inspection Service. All they can do, and will do, is contact the firm on the complaintant's behalf and try to get them to settle up. If they have contacted Lisa Varshal (Sargie) I haven't heard about it. The PO recommends you give them 45 days to negotiate, which will be about mid-Jan. Lisa has not contacted me since about the first of Oct. We lost about 43.00 to her and frankly, this complaint was our last hope. To file Mail Fraud, you must prove the intent to defraud, and I cannot do this, as I know Lisa did not intend to cheat us out of our money when we placed the order. In the future I am being cautious and placing small orders at first with new vendors. I refuse to be prejudiced against new people because of the fact that one person could not handle her business. But I *will* be more careful. I'm sure you will do the same, as will lots of others. Of course, if I do get a settlement, I will let everyone on RT know. I wish you all the best in your quest to get your money back. My heart goes out to all that have lost money in dealing with any vendors on the rubbertown list or the rs list that have not lived up to your expectations. I'm making this response to you for the purpose of letting you know... it's OK to ask for references for any vendor you see advertise on this list. Don't be afraid to do this...and DO ask for private email answers. You're more likely to get honest answers privately. Sad... but true. Evo sez.... don't be afraid to post questions to the list asking for responses from people as to their experiences with ANY vendor. And, yes... that includes me! You have the right to do this and you have the right to post if you don't receive what you have ordered and paid for.. after sincere attempts by you to receive what your check was cashed for or your credit card was charged for. There's a fine line between "trashing" a vendor and simply requesting what you paid for. The two posts I saw tonight are, in my opinion, not trashing a vendor... only seeking the truth. The lesson learned is... don't be afraid to ask if anyone has dealt with a vendor...and if the vendor is new and doesn't have a track record, follow your instincts. If the offer is too good to be true... it may be. Not now, maybe, but later... because bills have to be paid, even by vendors. And if what they're offering is "too good to be true"... at some point it is just that. This list features many GREAT vendors... don't let the few bad ones spoil your trust. But, again, don't be afraid to ask other stampers their experiences. That's where the truth lies. Soooo, looking for a poem??? ok... here it is... :}> Is the customer right? Yes, that's you! Can a vendor be bad? Yes, that's true! But follow your heart and be wise, too... Ask! And the answers will be given to you. By other stampers... Yep... that's who!
