It's called "Saltbox Illustrations" and I carry their small line of rubber stamps. Their main product line is stationary and related products featuring the artwork of artist Deb Strain. I stumbled on this company through a customer who LOVES Raggedy Ann type images... Saltbox has a country sketch look and has some delightful images (A Tabby Cat, Teacher Stamp, Watering Cans, Birdhouses, Baskets, Holiday images and more). I have a limited supply of their stamp line available before they become licensed by a MAJOR STAMP COMPANY (can't mention names just yet). If you'd like to take advantage while my inventory and special pricing lasts, you can see the images at: http://www.rubberd.com/mcsalt.htm. I can also mail you a color sheet with the images if you prefer. I take 10% off the retail prices of all Saltbox purchases..... Let me know! My appointment as the list etiquette cop has been held up so nothing I say is official. Therefore, everything I say is opinion. You know what they say about opinions and southern parts of the anatomy -- everybody has one. That said, my opinion is: commercial postings in moderation probably should be on both lists, just as commercials run on more than one channel on the television, in the hope of reaching the entire audience and not a portion. Aren't such postings to carry a subj starting with "AD" or "COMM"? That makes it easy to skip over if the reader isn't interested. Again, opinion: When one vendor puts 6 or 8 commercial postings up at a time, and does so to both lists then this goes beyond my definition of moderation. Just as the issue of tangents came up on the other list last week, this is a judgement call. Some people are probably happy to see them. In these cases, it is the judgement of those running each list that counts! Speaking of tangents, we're approaching one now and this list doesn't like them. I'll be quiet. Promise! - --Chris McEwen reply to: Socrates Press socrates@sprintmail.com - -----Original Message----- From: Shaunna Frasure Subject: Re: RubberTown: e-mail question > I only need to do it for my ads, I would just have to post twice if I >don't do them together and it would still be the same ad, do you think >thats in poor taste? Hi All... First of all, some of you might not want to sit and read my complaints and I apologize for taking up room on your pc's, but some of you might have an idea on my problem.... I have to set up my story here... This past October, my DH, our best friends & I went to Cabo San Lucas for our vacation. It was awesome.. loved it!! Well, I took a great panoramic photo of a shade hut made out of palms on this beach with the ocean in the background. When we got home, I took it in to get it blown up to poster size and I had this idea how I wanted the matte to go around the photo. I thought of having palm leaves stamped on the top part of the matte, to make it appear like you were looking out of a window with palms over head. Then along the bottom of my photo on the matte, I wanted a shadow type of box built into the matte's and spacing boards, so that I could put in the sand I brought back from Cabo and some shells inside..... are you getting the picture?? So, I took my extra large photo into a well known craft store to do the matte. The girl that took the sizing info, matte info and seemed to really have a good idea on how I wanted it to look like when I was done. The first pricing was $40.00 for the double matte's and some space board.... but I wanted to add in the shadow box on the bottom. Another lady, whom I think was the manager or supervisor in this dept., told her how to figure out the new cost and how to write it up. The price jumped up to $110.00... That was fine, because I had my vision on what I wanted it to look like and I wanted it done right..... So, I got my phone call the other day that it was done. So this morning, I ran in there when they opened to pick it up. I was very disappointed to find that instead of making a recessed shadow box for my sand and shells, they just did a regular matte cut out. So I told the girl that I wanted this space to be an actual boxed area, so that I could put in my sand and shells. She said (kinda snotty) "Well, it wasn't written down that way".. so I called the supervisor over and she also said "Well, it wasn't written down that way" and that they could make it a boxed area, for an additional fee, by adding a space board to the back..... well, that doesn't really solve my problem of having the sides and bottom boxed in!!! Needless to say, I was really getting mad. They were actually trying to blame the first gal that helped me, saying that she didn't write it down right, when the supervisor was standing there while I was saying what I wanted the first time!! They offered no solution.. basically I was S.O.L.!!! So, now what???? NOw I paid extra for this matte that wasn't what I visioned it to be and don't know how to fix this shadow boxed area.... any suggestions??? I could sit here and try and dink with it myself, but that was the reason that I paid them $110.00 for.. so I wouldn't have to mess with it!! I could have another matte cut out for the backing, but I know they won't give me a deal on it, even though it was partially their fault... UGH!!!! What happened to customer service??? When I was working in the public eye, I bent over backwards and went against some store policies to make the customer happy...... Really frustrated here!!! thanks to you that sat here and read this and possibly responded to my frustration!! I would of vented to my girlfriend, but she is swamped at work and I didn't want to bother her right now... Thanks for listening.... They are a retail/wholesale company and they sell by the weight. Jutta at Hood Enterprises sells them at discount. Her email is jutta@wolfenet.com. She's a great vendor. I order from her all the time. I have white, gold, & black. Don't know what other colors they come in but I'm sure there is more. The prices are excellent. Something like $2.75 an oz and you get tons. I've never had to order anymore. I've seen some pretty spendy prices on fine lines and I think these are the best! Is this a title for new stampers that might like to have a "swap", but lack the experience that most of you have? I would be embarrassed to send something that I might create at this time to those of you who have been participating in "swaps", and describing the quality cards that you have been receiving. One other quick question, I picked up green flocking instead of green embossing powder at the store. Would I use this on a trees or ??????? Thanks for any information any one can share about either subject.
