I'd really love to start carrying this company but need some help reaching the opening order. So for a limited time I will offer 40% off on this company! What a deal! =) I don't have any catalogs in stock to sell right now, but will call them tomorrow to find out about that. I did do a search on the net and they have a page at http://www.peddlerspack.com/ Their policy on copyright (according to the inside of the catalog) is that "all designs are copyrighted; however, you have our permission to hand stamp those images to create gifts and greeting cards to sell at bazaars and craft sales as long as they are hand stamped and not mass-produced". Let me know if you need anything. I'll send you your total, but please do not send any money until I'm sure that we're gonna make the minimum. - -- ~ lupie ~ (aka elizabeth herman) Lone Star Craft Supplies http://www.flash.net/~eherman ~~~Philippians 4:13~~~ - - ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Jan 1998 13:29:38 -0800 From: Cathy Grewohl Subject: RubberTown: Re:Who Sells Uptown? Sometime ago from one of the craft stores or two rubber stamp shops on LI (don't remember which) I bought a green Stamp Francisco pad with five shades in it. It was sealed in plastic of course, and I only recently opened it and then I had a shock. I had stored it flat upside down, and when I opend it the colors were all blended. i assume that they had been stored incorrectly somewhere but now what do i do? It's too late to send back to SF and I don't know where I bought it. Check out slips - don;'t you know how they pile up? I put out tons of paper each week, including old check out slips. So that doesn't help. If anyone can help though, I'd appreciate hearing from you. If not I guess I'll have to hold it under a running tap for a while and see what happens. Joy - - ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Jan 1998 18:32:43 EST From: ISTMP2 Subject: RubberTown: Cat's Eye pigment pads Cat's Eye pads are very small, and the ink used for them is very viscous (i.e. thick). Thus, they do use up the ink rather quickly. I think we are expecting them to stay as wet as, say, a dye-based color cube such as BrushBox. Dye ink is thin, like water. There is much more ink per cube than the thick ink in a pigment pad, so it is used up much more quickly. That's why re-inkers are sold along with Cat's Eyes. I personally re-ink mine every 6-10 times I put it onto a stamp...basically because I am lazy and don't want to WORK to get it to do what I want!! The bigger Color Box pads hold much more ink, because they are bigger (duh!) and have more surface area. We buy the smaller CE's because they are easier on the budget...but we realistically can't expect them to last as long as the big pads without reinking. IMHO! :) Mary - - ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Jan 1998 16:38:24 -0800 (PST) From: Barbara Holl Subject: RubberTown: Re: RS: Up for adoption Hi JJ, I'll adopt you if I'm not too late! Nielsen" Subject: RubberTown: Re: Cat's Eye pigment pads I can't argue with the fact that the pads are smaller but I don't think that is the problem. The problem is that there is no ink in some of them. I have one, sky blue, which is plenty wet enough and will probably last for 9 or 10 inkings but the others barely manage 2 or 3 and then only with considerable persuasion. So I don't think any of us expected the same life-span from a Cat's Eye as from a standard pad. It seems as if it's the luck of the draw whether they are dry when you buy them or not and that is just not satisfactory from a consumer standpoint. I buy the smaller ones not so much for economy but because I like the Magenta technique of "painting" with these tiny pads and because I can ink a very small part of a stamp with them thus allowing me to use multiple pigment inks on a single stamp. But I do appreciate your input and agree that for economy and convenience, in most instances, the larger pads are by far the better choice.
