So order yours now, and I will ship it in a couple of weeks after I receive your check/mo and Ria has a chance to check the final cd. The Cd had 180 images of antique postcards, there are a few examples up on my web site at this URL-- http://www.red-castle.com/cdrom/cdrom.html There are also a couple of links on this page to other CDROMS that I am currently working on. One is of several hundred approx 100 year old color bible images, which will make great cards of Sunday school projects. And the other is 300 plus black and white images of Famous Pictures from pre-20th century. Squeeze some out on a piece of glass, bigger than a sheet of cardstock. Lightly brayer over them to smooth them out and blend. Then take a bold stamp and stamp into the ink then onto a sheet of cardstock (or paper). Make several impressions on the glass with your stamps. Then lay a sheet of cardstock over the glass and run a clean brayer over the back to pick up the ink on the glass and the impressions from your stamps will be resisted. So you end up with 2 sheets of coordinating cardstock, one where you stamped your images, the other where you lifted the ink from the glass. I don't think I could pick 1 glue for each application because the glue I choose really depends on my project. I have lots of glues and they all have their place. For layering cardstock, I like YES glue, Rollataq, Miracle Tape or double sided Scotch tape, or Scotch ATG. Permanent Dryline is good too but the ATG is more economical and does the same job. For gluing cutouts and foiling I like Tombow's Mono Multi Liquid Glue. It dries tacky. In fact, this is my favorite all-purpose glue. It has 2 applicator tips, a small one for fine lines and a larger one for spreading over large areas. For mounting chunky pieces I use either mounting tape or E-6000. Oh, and E-6000 is perfect for mounting pin backs to laminated pins...it'll stick to slick surfaces. For collage and decoupage I use Perfect Paper Adhesive if I want a matte finish and acrylic gloss medium for a shiny finish. I don't use hot glue much unless I use glitter glue to make a "wax" seal. HI, Tracey, I'm sure you'll get many different answers to this--but that's what makes life interesting, isn't it? Here are my favorites: Krylon Spray Adhesive High Strength--for layering cardstock it can't be beat. Just set your cardstock down in your trash can and spray a fine mist. Not as good for highly textured, corrugated or open-weave materials. Not as good for metallic papers, as sometimes the glue will come around to the front of the card and mess up the finish. Yes Glue--what I use for corrugated paper, or textured paper, or extra heavy cardstock.Apply with a craft stick, very thinly. This glue stiffens the paper somewhat. It will not curl your paper. Elmer's Spray Glue--says permanent or temp. but I can only get a temp bond with it--which is what I want some of the time. PSX Chisel tip Glue pen (many other brands) --this is great for glitter, but I find it won't hold much else. Tombow Mono Aqua glue--I have found this to be the best and easiest-to-use glue for those little glass beads. Aleene's Thick Designer Glue in the bottle--I use this for buttons, bows and baubles....it just takes a dab, holds quickly and dries perfectly clear. This will not work for pin-backs on shrink-it. I see that Shannon recommends the E-6000 and I've been using hot glue for this...will have to try the E-6000, thanks, Shannon. Sailor pen--This is a glue pen (like a ball-point pen), but it's best use, IMHO, is for foil. Can also be used for glitter. You can also write with it and emboss. Very neat. Aleene's 3-D Foiling Glue--I have just recently discovered that this a great dimensional glue for glitter, foil and emb. powders. For EP's, sprinkle on when wet. *let dry*, then heat emboss. Purple Scotch Glue Stick--have just recently started using this when I'm in a hurry and don't want to use the messier Yes Glue--it seems to hold very well so far--have even used it on some corrugated paper with good results so far, but if it's *really* important to get a good bond, I'd use the Yes. Dry-Line Adhesive, from Ofc Supply stores--This is too expensive for me to use all the time, but I like it for attaching card descriptions to backs of cards. They have a permanent variety, but it isn't *always* permanent in my experience. Delta Stencil spray--for your dry embossing. I'll be anxious to see what others are using....I'm always looking for good glues. Would like to hear from anyone who's used the Rollataq system... > >Now I have a question about glues. =) > >Tracey, the one who likes to start threads! ; ) >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >tracey@rt66.com >http://www.rt66.com/~tracey > > > > > >- > > Cathy - - ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Jan 1998 09:28:05 -0600 From: "Gail & Jonathan Zwang" Subject: RubberTown: Re: Geevee- COMM: Fabrico Markers and Ink Pads Hi! Although I LOVE to get catalogs, it seems rather silly to when all I might want is one or two images. (Well, that's a silly statement, huh?...I'd WANT a billion, but all I HAVE to have right now is ferns :) I have the "monkey paw fern" and "delicate lace fern" from Rubberstampede and "fern frond" from Mostly Animals...but I KNOW there are more out there! How bout some images of the whole fern plant?? And more fronds, of course :) So...please, if you have any fern images in the lines you carry, please email me privately..and please put REDSTICK in the subject line :) Thanks to you all!
