Case" Subject: RubberTown: Question About Storing Rubber Stamps in Cardboard Ok, who can help me out with this question? There was a thread on the dMarie scrapbooking BB about storing stamps in cardboard (one person thought she had this brilliant idea of storing her stamps in clean never used pizza boxes). A few people came on stating they didn't think it was good for the stamps but weren't sure why. One thought it would dry the rubber out. Others wondered if just lining the bottom would protect them. Now I thought I remembered hearing that the moisture in the cardboard was bad for them..and if so, merely lining the bottom of the box would not protect the stamps. Could someone give me the answer so I can go back and give them some better advice? Hi StampMouse and others, If you are using AOL especially the older versions, you might have difficulty accessing the site, according to the page you need to use Internet Explorer. I see you have an AOL account, if you are using the built in AOL browser this could be your problem. If you are using windows 95, after connecting with AOL minimize your application, go to start > programs > accessories > internet tools and click on Internet Explorer. This will launch the I.E. browser. If you do not have I.E. no problem. You can do the same thing if you have netscape naviagator. Hope this helps! Many people's web pages are designed and written either for Netscape or I.E. unfortunately. But again you can use either browser with your AOL account. You can obtain Netscape by clicking on keyword--type netscape--then download the application. If this is too complicated, I will try to help all I can. What a wonderful now set of stamps from PSX. Of course their stamps are so great anyway. The project sampler is so "COOL". Such items as - Calla Lily Wedding Stationery, Loving heart unity candle, several place card holders instructions, Rose Birdseed Packet, Traditional Guest Book, Rose Cake bag and Bridal Handbag. This is exceptional -- This is made with white satin ribbons, etc. and is stamped on white velvet. Instructions for Floral Garden Luminary (this is absolutely gorgeous), Now & Forever Votive, Toasting Glasses and Cake plate, Decorative Flourish Wedding Frame and Now and Forever Beverage Napkin. The Now and Forever stamp has two doves with ribbons in each of their beaks, ribbons all around and one bowknot with wedding rings at one side of a knot. The Now and forever are written in script. I do believe they have outdone themselves this time. I have only one of these now but can order more along with the new catalog. For the scrapbookers there is a sampler for you too. Great ideas from what I can see. These are 2.00 plus sh/h. I do have the Valentine and heart project sampler in stock and this is a great issue, full of suggestions and instructions. Baroque Heart, Heart Shaped gift box, Sculpey ornaments, Valentine Wrapping Paper, I give you My Heart Card, Curly Line Heart Gift Tag, Heartlets Invitations, Floral Love card, Heart of Gold Gift Tag, Three hearts card, A great heart border using one large, tall, thin heart and one small, heart (same as large), and Heart Treasure boxes. I stock a lot of these stamps and they are so gorgeous. I also carry other tech sheets with instructions for: Sunflower T-shirt and shoe, A gorgeous holiday gift bag using mulberry papers and a large flower stamp, Garden recipe box with Veggie cards. And my favorite (I use this as the last project in my adult education classes at a local high school and it is a big hit) - a rose stationery set. This makes an envelope type packet to put stationery and envelopes into and mulberry papers are used for this. I used tissue papers stamped with designs and glued to card stock. This whole set of four is 1.25 plus 2 - .32 stamps. Wish I had a scanner as I cannot begin to do these justice. The catalog supplement has lots of new stamps and some of the designs are new and labeled as brush designs. One cute one is a toad on the ground with fiddlehead ferns all around him. Appropriately named Fiddlehead toad. Will give more details next time. I have rattled on enough. Marge @ Stampz 'N Stuff in Ocean Springs, MS. I want to thank everyone that has sent me and my family "well wishes" during this very difficult time. It has been very hard for all of us (especially my Husband and my son). You all really helped keep us positive about the whole thing. I want to tell you all about what is going on with my swaps (or rather what happened). I posted at the beginning of January that the swaps were done, descriptions posted, and everything mailed out. I had boxed everything up and my husband took it to the coast to be mailed from the US side of the border. I assumed that they went out and never thought another thing about it. As my health got worse, I had to give up my email and other affairs to my husband. He downloaded my mail everyday. I accumulated over 8000 messages! He never checked the messages, he just downloaded them. Last week I was told (by a couple good friends on the list) that people were flaming me because my swaps had never arrived. I asked my husband about it and he admitted (with great dismay) that the swaps had totally slipped his mind. He was so worried about me that everything else didn't matter. He felt really terrible about the whole thing. He assured me that the swaps had been mailed but they were really late. There was nothing I could do. I went and had a look at my email. From the messages that I saw (just skimming the list stuff) some of the messages actually shocked me. I realize that my Christmas swaps got messed up and they were late. I agree, you have a right to be angry at me. But the messages some of the messages that were sent to me were more than that. I was accused by 2 people that I had actually stolen the cards (why would anyone "steal" the cards???? I dont understand this one at all!). I was told that I was a nasty person, a bad person, a con artist, etc etc etc. I was told that I was no longer allowed to host any more swaps, that I wasn't welcome on the lists any longer, etc. This was totally chocking to me and believe me I cried many tears. I am being treated like a vendor who has skipped onthier customers, not a swap hostess who's cards are late. Is this fair??? Thank God I had friends on the list who were "looking" after me. Their support through all this (the swaps, and my health issue) has been terrific. I owe them a lot!!!! I want to thank them and also all the swap participants who emailed me and told me that it was all right that the swaps were late, they understood my situation. THANKS!!!! I can only say that I am truly sorry for this. Both my husband and I feel terrible that this happened. I take a lot of pride in hostessing swaps. I have hosted quite a few of them and all of them have been very successful. What happened this time was very unfortunate but out of my control. Had my health not gotten to the stage that it is, the swaps would have gone out right on schedule (not to mention the Strike factor!!!). Please believe me when I say that I am sorry. My husband assures me that they were mailed from the US side of the border. You should all be receiving them this week. My valentine swaps were swapped right on schedule. They are ready to go out today. I should be able to post the descriptions this evening or tomorrow. Stay Happy and Healthy!
