My favorite color. Love the cute stamps on the insides and the spongeing makes a nice soft look. Inkie - Great Red and white hearts. I will have to remember that. I have these stamps too. Patty - Cute bee card I don't know which I liked better the snail or the dragonfly. My son loved these cards. Boys and bugs!! Unknown - what a shame no name to thank on the card. And, yes it is difficult to stamp. But, there are ways to make it easier. To ink this stamp roll a hard surface brayer (not the sponge type) across the ink pad. Roll the brayer in one direction; if you go back and forth you take off as much ink as you put on! Ink the stamp the same way: roll the brayer in one direction, re-inking it as often as necessary. Turn your stamp and roll the brayer across the stamp. Continue until the stamp is completely inked. And now -- Stand up to stamp this thing. It is really large and you can't get the thing to stamp unless you stand up and put some pressure on it. Funny you should ask. . . I took a class last Saturday. That stamp was one of several we used in making the 6 different cards; each teaching a different concept. Enjoy the stamp. I wish I owned it! I must say, using the technique we were taught, I was amazed -- I got a beautiful image first time. Kathie who belongs in SC but hasn't found her way home from Texas yet! So, after making sure that the stamp is completely clean of ink or embossing fluid and is dry, take some sticky tape and loop it around two fingers so that the sticky side is out. Now lift off any dust or hairs just as you would de-lint a skirt or sweater. Next, brayer the ink onto the stamp, changing the direction of the brayer frequently so you don't end up with any lines of ink. Now use glossy or coated cardstock to preserve the exquisite detail. Put your paper on the floor - make sure the floor is clean or cover an area with clean paper. Put your stamp down firmly and smoothly and then STAND ON IT. Not kidding - - this is what Magenta recommends and it works. Lift the stamp straight up quickly so you don't smear the image. Good Luck - these stamps are worth the extra effort and it so soon becomes a habit that you don't even think about it. According to RSM ads and such, there is another stamp store a few blocks east of them on West Sahara. . .Las Vegas Art Stamps. (I have not been to that one as it opened after I moved. It could be the same people that owned AAA Rubber Stamps as the address is similar.) Both would be pretty easy to find as Sahara runs east-west by the Sahara Hotel. Of course, Viva Las Vegas Stamps is also in Las Vegas, and I understand his store is great (He opened after I moved.). I think he's on East Sahara. There also used to be a place called Merry MerryAnne's, although I am not sure if she is still in business. She carried some lines, but also had her own line of stamps. She was on the east side of town. And, I just read that there is a new place called Neon Ink, although I am not sure that they have a store. Are you going to go to Rubber Round-up? This is so clever and it makes me smile every time I look at it, thank you! > >From Sandra Haycock a beautiful vase with peacock feathers in it stamped on some really pretty white paper. It's another aunt card and it's just beautiful. By the way, my sister won't part with the cards you all sent her but as soon as I can pry them out of her hands I will describe them. Her new baby has colic like nobody's business and these cards have sure helped to brighten her scream filled days. > >Sarah West is my birthday twin so we groundhogs decided to exchange cards. She stamped one of those cute house mouse mouse house (I never can remember how that goes) mouses and colored him with watercolors, I believe. It's always hard to tell how something was colored if the person doesn't get out of the lines. It was beautifully mounted on coordinating cardstock with fancy cut corners. Very elegant and I like feet on those little mice! > >Debbie Coller sent a beautiful purple card with lots of colorful balloons on the front and Happy Birthday mounted over the top. Very party looking! And to think all I had to do was beg on bended knee to get it. > >At the same time I was begging Debbie C, I also begged Debbie Burnham for a card and she must have felt sorry enough for me to comply. Her card was made from foam core with a circle cut out and half of a plastic ornament mounted in the circle. Then inside the ornament there were 3 pieces of acetate with birthday paraphernalia stamped and mounted on them. I'm not saying this right. When you look at the clear ornament, you see stamped hats and gifts and stuff appear to be floating inside. But actually they're stuck to circles of acetate which were glued to the ornament. Aarrgghh! It's really, really cool but I can't describe it so offer Deb some cash and I'll bet she'll send you one. (You can thank me for that later). > >And from Helene Carvallio (whose last name I probably botched beyond belief..sorry!) sent a beautiful card with a wallpaper background and a precious angel layered on top. Now let me see. Colored with pencils maybe? She didn't get out of the lines either, so I can't tell. Very beautiful card, thank you Helene! > >And Kristen Watts sent me one of her convention pins with a sunflower stamped on cork and colored with markers, I think. No, she didn't get out of the lines either but there aren't too many choices for cork! Very cute, Kristen, and I hope we can spend more time together at the next convention. > >Oh my gawwwwwsh! I just checked my mail and I'm so glad I did. Sunny Howard sent a great pin/magnet/magnet/pin (she couldn't decide) and I'm gonna steal this idea from you, I hope you know. It's a laminated pin with a RSA bra stamped in gray and over that a message from Ruby Red Rubber that says "Warning: Wearing dirty underwear. If in an accident just let me die." ROFL! You just made my day :) > >These were all just too wonderful, thank you so much, > >Shannon - - ------------------------------ End of rubbertown-digest V1 #183 ********************************
