We are getting ready to match names now. There are many factors that go into this type of project as well as many problems. Some of which include; difficulty opening a file in order to read an app., each of us have different time constraints, we also live in different time zones, and we've had problems with one of our computers. There are also many factors to match, such as locations (some don't want to send pkgs. out of the country), styles of stamping, varied interests and monetary levels. Not to mention the fact that we weren't sure what to do about the TRIBE when we found out that Rubbertown would be no more. Now that we are sure that the list has been saved, we are continuing. We still have hopes that everyone will be matched and ready to start by April 1st. We hope that you will continue to be understanding and patient. Nielsen" Subject: RubberTown: RAK'd by Val and Helene I received two great cards which I should have acknowledged on Friday when they arrived! From Val Kildaw: (with a postoid RAK on the envelope!) Easter Greetings with a fat bunny surrounded by glittery jelly beans lying on a patch of grass. This was stamped on white cardstock with decorative corners. The white is layered slightly tilted on spring yellow and then on to white base cardstock. Inside: "Watch out for those jelly bean hangovers!" stamped diagonally with a jelly bean at each end. Very nicely done, Val. I am taking it to work today to keep nearby and cheer me up. Then, from Helene in Hawaii, in a very sophisticated envelope lined with ?wallpaper? a card trimmed top and bottom with a strip of patterned paper that coordinates with the envelope and between the strips a piece of textured paper (a part of a table napkin??) and on there a small square edged again with a coordinating border and on this is staped a tiny scene and the word Hawaii. Loads of ideas in this card for the imaginative use of different types and textures of paper. on the back of the card is the neatest stamp: a heart and below it the words: "when you care enough... you make it yourself! Thanks very much Helene. Anna - - ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Mar 1998 20:33:43 +1100 From: "Amir & Jessica Lingam" Subject: RubberTown: SST Received Jessica Lingam My SST parcel is here :) I was feeling really tired after a long day at work but getting the package just perked me right up! My SST sent me some wonderful things. Firstly, she sent me some lovely handstamped envelopes, with a really nice image of a mailbox in one corner and some clouds and bee. They are so nice that I'm not sure if I can bear to use them. Maybe I'll just hoard them for a while before I use them . My SST also sent me some cork pieces to layer on cards. And she sent me a card which showed me how to use the cork pieces. On a rectangular cork piece (slightly smaller than a postcard size), my SST gold embossed some sun images. I think my SST used Egyptian gold ep as the images were really sparkly. Then on a tan cardstock, she stamped the sun image again in black ink and coloured in the image. This was then cut out and layered onto the cork. Then the entire cork piece was layered onto a red card. This is really pretty and I'm going to have to try this technique out. Thanks SST for the great idea! Then in a little jewellery pouch, my SST included some golden hearts in my package. This will be great for collages. And a bundle of raffia - this will come in real handy as I love making country type cards and I need them for little bows. There was a package for DH too - Ferrero Rocher which DH just loved (it didn't last very long!). DH is a real chocoholic and he says a big "Thank You" to you. I gave Cleo some of the cat treat you sent her and she's been following me around the whole evening hoping for more! And finally, my SST sent me a decorative seal set. This is so cool! I got a seal with my initial "J" and a stick of gold wax and a stick of silver wax. I can't wait to play with all the goodies :) Thanks SST for a great package. I hope your SST is as good to you.
